This plant kept coming up in my yard and I always pulled it but today I used the Plant Identify App and found out it is Common Evening-Primrose. Your video has saved me from pulling up such a vital plant that blessed my garden space and it’s now Growing freely in my yard!! Bonus!! Thank you! I appreciate you for sharing your passion with us newbies...😂🤗👌
The MYSTERY of the 5-foot tall yellow flowering plants in my front yard is solved! Have been trying to figure out what they were for months now. Was outside last night about 11pm and the yellow flowers were bursting all over. Googled "night blooming Calif flowers." Happy to learn they are medicinal (flowers, roots, leaves), a biennial, and my bees & hummingbirds love them, especially at sunrise! It's the little things that get me through life, friends...
AtTheCoast glad I could be of assistance. Thanks for stopping by.

this video is nicely done, with a great description, clear and detailed close ups of the plant, flower, leaves and habitat. just what a novice needs. thanks.
+Ibpn You are very welcome and thank you for the complement! It means a lot!
Oh there are alot more medicinal purposes and warnings you should give with this plant. This plant is a potent medicine for feminine issues such as to treat PMS pain and breast tenderness, but shouldn't be taken if you have endometriosis because it contains estrogen, its amazing at stopping hot flashes from menopause. Is medically proven to help induce labor (therefore do not injest the oil if you are pregnant unless trying to induce labor)
Can you please tell me how I can use mine to make myself something for my menopause my hot flashes are the worst and I want to utilize my plant 🙏🏻
Also what are some of the warnings ?

I have a question . I live in the state of Arkansas. Are there different types or look a likes of evening primrose ?
Does the same apply for cutleaf evening primrose ?
Great Video! I have a question for you, I have tons of Stemless Evening Primrose
Lavauxia triloba growing all thru my gardens and love them, I know these are the same family, but I can't seem to find any info if they have the same benefits medicinally as the Common Evening Primrose? Not sure if you can help me with this. Thank you!
Hi Heather, thanks for the complement and for using the scientific name so I can get you the right info. Here is what I found: Stemless Evening Primrose (Lavauxia triloba, or as science likes to change things, now called Oenothera triloba) was used externally by the Zuni Indians as an ingredient for "schumaakwe cakes" or rheumatism and swelling. They also ground the roots and used it as food, which is unfortunately what wikipedia has to say about it as well, sorry. Unfortunately that is all I could find so far with no references from western or eastern herbalism. If I come across something useful I will pass on the info. I Hope this helps.
