They are worried theres a catch. This actually happens in Mexico where gangsters give people money then they own them and must work for them, or they want to sell drugs out of your house. People are scared in this neighborhood.
I know this is a long shot, but definitely worth a try. My husband and I, along with a few other people hand out burritos and drinks to the homeless on weekends. We've been doing this for the past 2yrs. We look for the grocery specials, cook the food ourselves, and go out looking for these people to feed them. We also hand out blankets during winters. Just FYI, we're also in AZ. I hope you're interested in helping out along with us or maybe even donate items (blankets, waters, tortillas) My husband, low-key, is a big fan. I'm not asking for money at all, but HELP TO HELP the homeless. We've been doing this for the past 2yrs. We look for the grocery specials, cook the food ourselves, and go out looking for these people to feed them. We also hand out blankets during winters. Just FYI, we're also in AZ. I hope you're interested in helping out along with us or maybe even donate items (blankets, waters, tortillas)

I love it. This video was so informative, most of the homes are owned because they were passed down from the previous generation. Mexican families stick together and take care of each other.
