    Good job! When I did my first 3ft I was like-
    : WHAT IF I FALL?!

      It has that 'step up' feel doesn't it. Amazing when it goes right though.

    Does anyone else have 'mental blocks' when it comes to their horse riding? What are yours? Share yours below...

      jumping anything over 60cm bareback 0.0 it's terrifying and I refuse to do it XD

      I mean... Jumping 60 bareback is pretty brave in itself!

      Jumping courses! I have an ex racer who likes to treat showjumps as racing jumps! I'm getting braver the more I ride her, but it's still a bit eek!!

      Thank you so much ☺ I'll be honest... I was nervous to share this one because I didn't think my riding was that great but it was such a big milestone I just had to.

    Fantastic! He looked much more rideable over the 90cm course, his canter looked more controlled. It’s like he does respect the smaller heights so just wants to tank into them. Huge congratulations!

    • @RidingWithRhi
      @RidingWithRhi  4 роки тому +1

      Yes!! It’s totally that. If only I were braver imagine what he’d do at 1 metre! 😂

  • @rachaelhutchings2659
    @rachaelhutchings2659 4 роки тому +2

    I know you felt nervous in the 90cm but he took you to every fence really nicely. He’s keen and bold which is sometimes a huge help but sometime hinders too. Well done. 90cm is my nemesis, I haven’t jumped in about 3 years though so I’ll be starting from scratch with my youngster next year.

    • @RidingWithRhi
      @RidingWithRhi  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you very much and I'm glad someone else gets it! It can be AMAZING to have such a bold, keen horse - it's a wonderful confidence booster but it does make them somewhat of a handful 😂

    I really love this video, it makes me feel a lot more confident in jumping, I just got my first horse yesterday and he’s an awesome jumper, I’ve also had a really bad fall recently and lost all confidence in jumping, this video makes me feel so much better and makes me feel like I CAN do it! I won’t fall off. I won’t crash. I won’t be scared. I can do it, don’t be scared and go for it, so when I next see my horse tomorrow... I’m going to push myself! Thank you for the AMAZING video rhi 💖🙌🏼

      It makes me SO happy to hear this - thank you for sharing. You absolutely can do it, if you want to. Take it slow, step by step, day by day. I would always recommend having a neckstrap. I've started riding with one again recently (it's made out of an old side rein - an old stirrup leather will also work) and it's hugely increased my confidence when it comes to jumping.

    I honestly thought it was me that had a mental block with 90cm, as a kid I'd fly over it but now, as much as I want to, I can't force myself to do it. After watching this video, I think if I find a horse I'm comfortable on, I'll give it a go! Thank you!

    • @RidingWithRhi
      @RidingWithRhi  4 роки тому

      Totally! It’s as much about the horse as anything. Ted gives me so much confidence jumping, even if he is a handful with his rocket ship ways. I trust him deeply to look after me. ❤️

      @@RidingWithRhi oh wow quite tall (in my books😂) i wasn't asking as a stalker , its because I'm looking for my next loan and I'm petite for my age (5ft) so most of the horses I'm looking at are ponies and i was just wondering if people my height do actually loan above 14Hh😂

      I think it's very clear we were getting to know each other in this video and it's clear from the title that I was proud of our achievement - so comments like this really stand out as being so overwhelmingly negative and a little unnecessary? Why would you want to put someone down just to do it? Ted is an extremely hot jumper and he takes time to work out - something my coach is helping me do in our lessons.

    I agree with you so much Rhi about jumping top of the blocks, it was always seen as a big deal when I was younger 😂 hence my current fear of just going one notch up to be top of the blocks even though my horse jumps better with the bigger jumps!!
