    I'll be ditching the car commute so I can take the train from South Keys to Bayview, Bayview to Pimisi, and then walking into Gatineau from there. Thanks for the ride along.

    Thanks for doing this. I hope the new line helps with traffic congestion getting to and from downtown. I was a little surprised the connection to the Airport wasn’t in the original plan. It just makes so much sense to have it.

    Classic Ottawa, more salt than a sandy beach on the platforms

    Good video and nice job pointing out what's close to the stations 👍

    Look at 13:26 at the screen. Am I the only one who thinks it looks "backwards"? I mean, shouldn't the next station Greenboro be above the South Keys and the Bayview should be at the very top? Am I being too picky? it just looks weird to me..

    Great video. Thanks for posting.
    Its about time. In Riverside South we were promised a train for 2009. A mere three mayors and fifteen short years later, we're there! 😮

    Do you think they used enough salt?

      @@PoserBallin trains carry sand to drop on track for traction. But yes at stations I always find they over due the salt yes

    What was it you were saying about the Carleton tunnels? Are they adding a tunnel connection to the underpass?

    18:15 they should keep route 190 as a summer only route between Mooney's Bay station and Mooney's Bay beach/park

    That pedestrian bridge at Carleton *still* isn't open? It looked like it was finished in June...

    • @RailFansCanada
      @RailFansCanada  18 годин тому

      It is finished. Unfortunately, it will not be cleared or maintained in the winter, so that is why it is currently closed for the season.

    Why do the doors open at every station when noone is entering or exiting? What are the open buttons for on the doors ?

    • @benthyben
      @benthyben 5 годин тому

      They are testing and training and getting used to the system, part of that is pretending there are people so there isn’t a shock when people actually start using it.
      OC transpo have the trains doors open automatically, but other transit systems can make it so that you have to press the button to open the door.

    how long do we wait outside before getting on to a line 4 train after getting dropped off line 2 ?
    I do know that the schedule says 7 min but I'm curious how much of that is on the platform waiting and how much inside the line 4 train.

    No announcement / display info about the connection to Line 1 at Bayview? Seems like an obvious oversight...

    I hope they're reopening the bike trail from Leitrim station. It's a nice area for trails, but the roads around there are iffy for cycling.

    • @RailFansCanada
      @RailFansCanada  5 годин тому

      A parallel MUP from South Keys through Leitrim, all the way to Bowesville is being built! It will be dirt and rocks, not paved, with signalled crossings at Leitrim and Earl Armstrong. We are not exactly sure when it will reopen though, but we’ve used it often to spot testing earlier this year! -David

    I suspect they will learn they have to lock the powerpack doors, as I feel that people will ignore the signs telling people to move through.

    I still think it should of been double track from Bayview to Limeback even if meant building a new bridge over the Rideau River and over the Via tracks as well as new bridges by Walkly, Bronson, aIaltalia DEow's lake tunnel. It's going to have to built at some point. Why not now. Yeah itt wou;ld costmore, but when they do build not only will cost more themn it would of cost buildong it today, your going to need to shut it down again to build it.

      It’s just that the Stadler is significantly smoother and more comfortable. Extremely noticeable difference. That was more the point.
