My worst baseball injury happened when I was 14. We were practicing rundowns. Our second baseman decided he wasn’t gonna step aside when he threw back to the first baseman. He was backpedaling and the ball hit the top of his glove and hit me in my left eye. It broke my nose, gave me a black eye that swole shut and directly under the eye the stitching on the ball sliced my face open. Two days later I played the best game of my career with a swollen shut eye.
Mine was during bunting I was practicing bunting with my coach and he threw a slider and the seams cut my finger open, I had to get like 7 stitches but hopefully I don’t get worst
Mine happened when I was only nine. I was up against the fastest throwing pitcher in the league, he was known to be pretty wild at times and oh boy were they right. On the 3rd pitch I took a 62 mph fastball to the nuts. And after that it bounced off and hit my forehead. I was on the ground crying from the pain. I had to rest for 10 games after that incident.
The worst injury I've ever had was when I was around 10 and I was batting. The pitcher threw the ball and it hit me in my right eye. Almost popped it out of its socket completely. Had to go to the hospital. Fully healed but I had a black eye for quite a while
I remember watching the Seattle-Toronto game. My parents were pretty sure Springer got a concussion but I felt bad for him like we were excited about the Mariners but felt bad for Springer.
Worst injury was last year. I was trying to go yard and stepped out when I swung. My back foot slipped and with all the force from the swing I broke my pelvis. Luckily it healed extremely quickly
yeah i know i’m not no MLB player but i was pitching, and as i pitched, pulled my tricep, then on that same pitch, got hit in the same tricep, but went on to pitch a perfect game and hit 2 HRs while hitting/pitching left
a couple of those seem like over reactions or flops compared in painful injuries but the rest yea. I was playing right field in 9th grade and had a baseball rolling towards me and out of nowhere it pop up like it hit a rock or something and slammed into my collarbone and man the pain was bad. I was still able to play but throwing for the next few days was enough that I was not even accurate during practices.
My worst baseball injury happened a couple of weeks ago, I was hit in the knee by a 73 MPH fastball. My coach made me steal 2nd right after and I had to pitch the next inning. (I'm 13 and hope that this doesn't effect my career in the long run.)
Be careful man, I have chronic knee issues because of high schools sports. I'm in a brace and moderate pain everyday and I'm not even 30 yet. Unless it's your dream to go pro get out now and join a rec league. If it is your dream than more power to you and good luck.
My worst injury was when I was around 12. I was catching, a thing that I still do now, and the pitcher, with an average pitch speed of 60 (I played in travel ball). My leg/ knee guard was too short and the ball nailed me on the knee cap. It ended up popping our and I have a metal plate there to keep it from moving. And yeah, I had to get a surgery. I’ve had some more minor injuries, like dislocating my thumb and a black eye, too, but the knee cap one was definitely the worst?
My worst injury was getting my big front tooth knocked out during practice in 2nd grade. We were doing catching drills and I was sat at pitcher, coach swung the bat and the ball hit me straight on the tooth, had to rush to the dentist to get it put back in. 11 years later and it's past the point of saving, gotta get it replaced.
i remember this one tournament where i was playing center field and i was running back to catch a fly ball. there was no warning track and right as the ball was coming down i turned my head and slammed my face into metal fence, broke nose, pouring blood, ended up coming back in to game 3 innings later (happened in the 1st)
my worst baseball injury was when i was in outfield and dove for a flyball. i was unaware anyone else was going for it, i realized the (inexperienced) right fielder was going to it right after i started diving, so i tried to veer myself to avoid him while diving and went head first straight to the ground. instant severe concussion. i got up, ran back to the dugout, told coach i was okay but as soon as i sat down i was told i looked like “a deer in headlights” i couldn’t even remember my own name. the rest of everything that happened that night is a blur.
one of my friends took a baseball bat to the mouth in the dugout. his mouth had to be reconstructed. exactly why you don’t swing your bat in the dugout
So I grew up in not the greatest area. When I was playing in high school I was running in for a bloop hit that was gonna drop over second base and as my body was leaning forward, about to dive forward, my right foot stepped on a condom, which made my right leg slide in front of me while I was diving. It was like a really awkward split and I destroyed my hamstring. I also had some painful hip flexor issue for months. A year later after I graduated they built a nice field with fences and people were no longer able to walk through it. That's my story lol
My worst injury was when I was 9 and playing all stars and the pitcher threw around a 50-60 mph fastball to my rib cage and hit the air out of me and I fainted and had to be drove to the hospital
The worst injury I had was when I was practicing we where doing ground ball I was like 10 and it got a bad hop and hit me in the eye it was swollen for like 2 weeks and couldn’t see i had a big bump on my cheek and eye.
Worst injury I was a witness to was when a kid had a gash up the front of his leg from his ankle nearly to his knee when a another kid slid into third base wearing metal spikes right into the guys leg
Not my injury but it happened to a kid who was playing in a field adjacent to my team. Ball was hit back to the pitcher and hit him in the balls, it started bleeding and the skin to his sack was split and required stitches. Also, I know this because the following season he played for my team the following season and I just so happen to recognize him and asked about the experience.
my worst injury was when i was hitting and this pitcher was throwing upper 70s low 80s and i was only 13 or 14 at the time and so i was already a little intimidated and first pitch he hits me in the jaw and the way i flinched by technicality i swung at the pitch and had to continue the at bat and ended up striking out haha my jaw was sore for about a week or two after
The worst baseball injury of all time is definitely when I was six, on the pitchers mound, and some kid hit the ball right at my ankle. Good hit by that kid though.
ah i remember my last year i played baseball (i wasnt very good lol) i swung at a inside pitch and broke my finger for the rest of the season anything inside i was not swinging at lmao
The worst injury I had was when I was 13 I was playing 3rd base and this dude hits a super high fly ball and it was directly in the sun came down broke my more my jaw 2 black eyes and knocked out 3 teeth…… I guess it’s fair to say that I had a fun next couple of days
My worst baseball injury was when i was 13-14 and i was trying to slide into second base and back then my slide form wasnt good and when i slid my foot got caught on the base or something and my ankle broke in 3 spots and i tore the ligaments in my ankle and had to have ankle reconstruction surgery two days later.
My worst injury ever was my Jr. year of high school. I was starting pitcher, in 4th inning I had a runner on third, and threw a wild pitch. I ran to cover home bc the runner took off towards home. My catcher gunned it as hard as he could from 15 ft away. I got hit in the face, broke my nose in 4 spots, and had a hairline fracture in my upper orbital bone. There was a huge puddle of blood behind the plate, and in the dugout. Bled through 3-4 sets of nose plugs.

Fantastic story! Super heroic
I’m so glad you don’t show any of the aftermath. I would hate to actually have some context of the injury.
2:15 is the thumbnail for anyone curious. Pretty nasty injury as he got cut up from the runners spikes on his cleats.
Ty
That’s exactly why steal spikes are mostly banned in high school and colleges
Is he allright

The things baseball players/umpires go through for the sake of a game.

Very mild compared to hockey, where they have razor blades on their feet

Just be tough pulling a few muscles for $8 million a year.
Can someone explain how he got hurt at 1:25?
I was just wondering the same. My guess is the video needed padding and filler to get maximum payout.
Pretty sure he pulled a muscle

As long as you take care of it and go to the doctor to see what they say before doing any more than what you have.

What would it take for longer clips?? I mean, your style is great, but the clips are far too short.
@1:30 why's this in the vid? There's no injury here

Batting helmets are only there to prevent your skull getting cracked open. Even a 70mph pitch to the helmet hurts like a SOB.
My worst injury was when I was 9 and playing all stars and the pitcher threw around a 50-60 mph fastball to my rib cage and hit the air out of me and I fainted and had to be drove to the hospital
My worst baseball injury Is when I walked past the pitcher and hit me right in the pinky and I fractured it.
The worst injury I had was when I was practicing we where doing ground ball I was like 10 and it got a bad hop and hit me in the eye it was swollen for like 2 weeks and couldn’t see i had a big bump on my cheek and eye.
I tore my ACL while running to first because the base came up so I took wrong footing.
