Nice work. The only way I know how to keep lantana down is to keep at it. Keep slashing, cutting, mowing, spraying, burning, digging. That’s a great machine. It’s pretty satisfying clearing land infested with weeds.
Where we cleared in this video a heap of wattle sprang up. We recently bought a forestry mulcher and I did a video in this same spot with the new mulcher. John
@@farminglifeaustralia6716 I’ll have to watch it. Recently I bought a flail mower to cut setaria grass. I’m not sure if you know of this grass but it is a pain. It grows fast in clumps to around two meter tall.
If we could get cattle feed to grow as quick we would do well. Pat seems to be getting over her issue good. We are both staying away from town and people, covid is around in town at the moment. John
Good thing you got this tidied up and burned before all this rain came. Won't be much machine work for a week or two now if you are anywhere near our place.
We have been having a dry spell here usually this time of year it never stops raining, but bugger all this year we are getting a bit worried about it. John
Man I love that wheel loader John. I wish I had that here so that I could push up our Quila or BAMBOO. It is a real problem here and it kills everything. Thanks for the video. Jim
Its a strange thing but no matter where you live there always seems to be some plant that you are constantly battling with. Some areas west of us the thorns on the ground are so bad you are flat out keeping a tyre inflated. The loader is a good help thats for sure without machinery we would be on the veranda of the old peoples home. John
Yeah south of us its dry here. Gympie in central QLD is getting its biggest floods since 1880 according to the experts. I can remember it getting a bad flood in the 70s and again in the early 90s and both of those floods were a disaster. This is supposed to be a lot worse. 5 people drowned so far. John
Hey mate I’m bloody bearcats farm aus I just changed my channel name to dans farming vids just letting you know That I’ve changed my channel name .Them suckers can be some big pest in the cattle industry and great vid mate
Looks like loaders are more useful in getting rid of lantana and privets. I tried using tractor 4 in 1 bucket and the hydraulic s nearly get ripped off and the buckets are so weak all bend. Only 1 tractor I had, a Mahindra 80hp that had a Korean bucket like a dozer. Sadly the tractor was a dud- used to leak all the time, had trouble with the engine and within 3 years the radiator went. Since then I had a Kioti and now a MF but the buckets have never been strong. Espaecially the MF has hydraulic cables in very vulnerable position.
Its not ideal and I have removed the side lights and front mudguards so as not to rip them off. Dont need them on the farm anyway. As long as I am careful and take my time its ok. The bucket and rake are strong. I have bent up tractor buckets myself doing much lighter work than this. They just are not made for proper work. The only one that I did use that stood up to this was a Challenge bucket unfortunately the loader frame kept cracking on that one. John
Good to see Pat having some fun. You too John BIG TOYS and fire, love it.
Doesn't get much better. O maybe if you had the odd explosion would put the icing on the cake. John
