This is what if tanjiro had ultra instinct where we dive into a dragon ball x demon slayer collab that gives tanjiro one of if not the most hype transformation in all of dragon ball and dragon ball super! How will this change the story of demon slayer in this what if? Well there are 2 ways to look at this through the dragon ball perspective and also a martial arts perspective. Honestly this is a solid mixup for a what if. Since ultra-instinct works to a semi-similar extent as transparent world. It actually scales fairly well.

Unrealistic Vs Realistic Versions (Of The What-If) Scenario. Unrealistic: he is able to beat through all of the Kizuki with his Automatic Reflexes.

Or turned against him after regaining his memoires or something. Pretty nice concept. Always thought that martial artists were underused in demon slayer. I mean Akaza was able to kill 67 swordwielders with his BARE FISTS. If someone like that had ultra instinct. I shudder to think what would happen

Martial Arts refers to all forms of fighting, not merely hand-to-hand combat.
The Hinokami Kagura is also a martial art.
Additionally, Tengen literally has this "bladed nunchuck" type of weapon.

I'd say for breathing styles, it more or less used to maximize stamina and strength when using ui.
i get the sai sickles(similar to dual bladed nunchucks) for his weapon but in my opinion it would be better to give him regular sai's or daggers or short swords just so he can still use sunbreathing and stuff.

There's a proper way of going about this story, just hafr Tanjiro inherit "Ultra Instinct" from his father Tanjiro and have it relate to super slowed down breathing, also when Hashira notice Tanjiros hidden talent they IMMEDIATELY start training him in person, teaching him their strongest Breathing techniques to bring out "Ultra Instinct" from Tanjiro;
Gyomei teaches him how to focus on his inner power through mantras
Sanemi teaches him to react to multiple attacks
Obanai teachts him where to evade
Muichiro teaches him how to move more swiftly
Mitsuri teaches him how to be more flexible
Tengen straight up teaches him Musical Score
Giyuu teaches him how to *always* be in "Dead Calm" state
And finally Rengoku helps to teach him Sun Breathing
If tanjiro has it he whouldnt call it ultra instinct he whould call it water breathing: insane dodging speed
