I had always avoided the face character dining and meets because I thought it would be super awkward but our last trip we did Akershus and I absolutely loved it. Turns out it wasn't awkward at all.
I love how hard you are working so you can continue to make memories with your family, as a new father who would love nothing more than to create memories with my family but currently would have no chance of affording a holiday like Orlando, it is inspiring to see you doing everything to make it possible for yours. THE TIP !!! Thats what we have called it since I was a kid here in Australia. A place to go and take all of your rubbish. Except back 30+ years ago when I was a kid it was free to go and do. Now days you have to pay an insane amount to dump your rubbish!

It is considered an annual but they do self seed so they can pop up year after year. Ten years ago we downsized from over 3500 square-foot home to 810 square-foot. We ended up with 10” x 30‘ x 12‘ storage unit.. Fast forward eight years and we finally emptied out the storage unit. Our adult children took a bit, sold a few big items (couch, mattress, washer, dryer etc) things on Facebook marketplace and donated a lot of it to our churches local store. It’s was a huge endeavor that held a lot of memories but that unit was costing us money. Once everything was emptied out and a few months had passed. We both felt a lot better about it. ❤
Yeah I'm kinda working my way through it but I have also just taken on a bigger unit too 🤣🤣🤣 my flower has gone now but it was beautiful. Hopefully will be back next year
Woo-hoo, it'll soon be Ahoy Matey time as Cheers Ears cruises the High Seas. Better get my floatation device ready - will be here, ready and waiting to laugh, smile, and enjoy our vacation!
I love the concept of "repositioning" - my family and I are going through some major repositioning ourselves this year, and that term really helps me put it in perspective. Can't wait for the Disney vlogs, but honestly I enjoy hearing you talk about anything and everything! (even the tip! 😉)

I go to Cozumel several times a year. It’s safe and they cater to tourists. It’s well known for snorkeling and diving. There is the town and cruise port, then a bunch of beach clubs, farther south is a national beach park, and the east side has no electricity and just small beach clubs. Don’t swim on the east side, too rough waters at most places. Happy to answer questions and make recommendations. Have fun.

We really enjoyed watching this video. Boy can we relate to a “repositioning” year (great term for it). Hope you guys have an awesome holiday and can’t wait to watch all the videos from it. Oh and we also loved the every 6 months dose of Disney. We were just there in May for our daughter’s wedding and I’m already itching to get back. We leave our no -longer-needed items by the side of the house/ near the main road with a big sign “free to a good home “. Everything always goes and you get the satisfaction of knowing someone else will enjoy the special toys/ bikes etc and you’re helping others. Our village does a lot of that to be fair and I think it all started in Covid when the dump was closed. I know it feels bad to give things away for free when you think they are worth £30 or more but we are now converted and only sell high value items.
I really need to come up with a plan. It's living rent free in my head. I'll tackle it when we get back off of holiday. Hope you're having a great week

Hey keith- saw the vlog. Saw your storage. Had any idea for the bikes if you can me to them secure. If you have a riding area near your rooms it might be a nice outdoor activity for your guests. You could offer a security deposit for "bike rental" just in case to cover any possibility of theft. Just an idea to get some use out of your stored bikes. Enjoying the day to day as much as I enjoy Disney.
Great job on the new venture Keith, sounds awesome and I can't imagine a better natured person (persons if you include Luke) to have turning up at properties to do a job like that! Shame! We will just miss you. We go in 45 days! We love Riviera for skyliner. But also Boulder Ridge. Love The feel. DVC rooms just been redone. The boulder ridge Lobby is well chilled and quiet. Close to MK. bay lake really needs its refurb. Have a fab time. We have yet to try the cruise. 😂

You can get around the lightening lane restrictions. I tried it and it got around the region to the point of dummy booking something. Tips on UK DVC FB pages. But change the region settings to USA and switch location off and change your address to US on MDE. It worked. 👍
I came onto the comments to say exactly this! You can book 7 days in advance from the UK - If you change your ‘country of residence’ on the app to the US and turn off your location services on your phone.
I need your carpet cleaning skills. If you do rugs? My husband and I will be at WDW in August. Can’t wait. You will love Bay Lake Tower. It’s my favorite. I actually prefer looking out to the lake than the park. Hope y’all have an amazing trip. Look forward to the vlogs.
It was great to see your update. I'm really interested in seeing what you think of the OKW studio. We have DVC at Saratoga and much prefer the studios there to the OKW ones, especially when there's just the two of us. We've stayed in a one bedroom OKW before and really loved it. It's up there with the best places we've stayed at on property. Would love to stay at BLT one day, so I'm looking forward to those vlogs.
Yeah we're really excited. I have a suspicion that the studios at saratoga will be better than old key west. Cant wait to be back at okw though. Love that place
in the US on facebook we have "buy nothing" for each neighborhood. Basically you offer items up for free and if people want it they reply. Then they come and pick up from the curb. Good way to recycle items that others may want rather than taking to the dump. Not sure you have anything similar? You are going to love the Disney Fantasy! It's my favorite ship. I like the adult areas so much better than on the Wish. I think you will enjoy it!!!

As a Brit living in the US I have never encountered anything similar (in Minnesota, anyway). They do have occasional days at council buildings where they will accept certain items to dispose of. We sell A LOT of stuff on Facebook Marketplace, but perhaps that is because there is no decent way to dispose of things otherwise haha! I next go to Disney World in May 2025- 19 month gap since we last went- cannot WAIT!
The items at the storage unit especially the bikes I was thinking would it be worth contacting Social Services like for Foster families and seeing if they want the clothes and bikes for kids/teenagers who arrive at a foster home with nothing of their own?

What about posting items for sale on some of the military base sites? I know you have a few around near where you are as my husband is based at Boscombe Down. My husband got a 2nd hand bike for getting around camp rather than driving. Any time I go into the local town when I visit I always wonder if I will bump into you guys 😂 Exciting about your trip! As far as those storage units, I very much agree with the advice your friend has given you with regard to if it's likely worth a good amount, eBay. eBay is a faff and a cost for listing and posting so it has to be worth it. The fact the charity shops are rammed foils my advice sadly 😂 I'm in the process of clearing our family home and I've basically been judging it by, if I saw this in a charity shop would I buy it, is it in the condition to be in a charity shop etc... Everything else is going straight in the bin/out for the scrap man. As a self-confessed hoarder, it has taken some doing, but literally strip the whole thing out front to back and ask yourself honestly Are you going to ever use this or display this again... If you aren't, then it's not worth hanging onto... I have no idea if that helps 😂! Also been donating toys to friends or friends of friends with children, love the feeling of knowing the enjoyment will live on through them ❤ Have an amazing holiday, we'll give you a wave if we see you as we crossover by 3ish days 😅! x
I feel weird meeting characters when you can see their faces. When they have a character head on it’s easier to pretend it’s really Pluto or Daisy and not just a teenager in a costume. And for sure have the Viking Coffee!
You mentioned the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass/Single Pass and you should be able to book 7 days ahead but it only works on the app and only when you are in the USA (or Canada). However there is a hack! Turn off location on your phone. Select your country as USA in the MDE app. You should then be able to pre book your LL as if you are in the USA. If not you may have to reinstall the app and then select USA as your country. Good Luck!

For your extra bin, I would ask your storage company if they have any bin sales (aka storage wars type) sales coming up. Maybe you can dump everything at once (minis going through and taking out what you want! And do you have a link for your units?! (Or is it done through AirBnB or another site?!)
I'm excited to hear about your upcoming trip and the family updates! I did see a vlog on DVCFan ( they are the World of DVC and do resale sales,etc) she added in her vlog that calling dvc member services and they should be able to assist with the new multi pass program to get you set up since you are not in the US. I hope she was correct about that, so it would be worth a call.
Old Key West was our favourite too with family- who are also now adults and can’t come 😕. We’ve done two Disney cruises for a week each-one Mediterranean one and also the Caribbean one. We enjoyed Castaway Cay as the best stop
Don’t forget there’s an adults only part of the ship! And you can eat every meal in the dining room which is less chaotic than the self service restaurant. And I always have breakfast in the room with room service on days where we get off early.
Just been on Tiana today for the first time - loved it. Also did the new Country Bears - do NOT pass it by this was a fun 15 minutes. Queues were good today, we don't do Lightening Lanes or anything (advantage of living 40 mins away if queue too long there is always another day) 20 mins Buzz, 20 Mins Small World, 30 Mins Pirates, 40 Mins River Cruise, 35 mins Haunted. Did Western Caribbean earlier this year going back on the Treasure (just floated out today) early January. Looking forward to my next Halloween themed cruise on the Fantasy (again) taking in Lighthouse Point.

Your rooms look lovely. Have you looked for a children's charity to donate the bikes to? If you really loved a board game I suggest you keep it. We are having a blast showing our grandchildren the old games we loved. We stay at the Polynesian on most of our trips. We love being so close to the Magic Kingdom. Being able to watch the Fireworks from our resort. Also after the fireworks is the Electric Boat Parade. It is som much fun being able to watch it all from the hot tub at the resort.. Have fun!!

Keevo do you have a place that does thrift shop stuff. Here in the States we have a huge chain called the goodwill. Or a charity group for impoverished families to donate the bikes to
Love the Fantasy, only dont break your ankle zip lining like I did. we have done 7 Disney cruises and 7 other lines and 4 of them we didn't get off either.
Also with all the bits you've got in storage contact your local homeless charity. They'll be glad of any clothes or anything for the home that could set people up when they get their own place because they often have nothing at all x
Don't decide cruising not for you based on a Disney cruise. Try other cruise lines first. Disney cruises are very intense compared to others. RCCL, NCL etc are very much a slower pace x
Hi Guyz, You tubes of Patio Cleaning, and Carpet Cleaning, especially ‘Persian Carpets’ are our secret guilty pleasures. We can also highly recommend ‘Volunteer Garden Tidy’ or (even better) ‘Offering a stranger to cook a meal in their own home’ Good luck with your new business. But……a word of caution - My dad gave up his long term job as a dustman and used his compensation money for his bad back (He was a proper ‘Metal Bin Man’) to start up his business as a Carpet Cleaner!......He got sued on his second job for shrinking a really expensive carpet….So tread carefully Keitho 😉 Ref your 2 x lock ups - ‘ave a tidy up, so you easily fit all ya stuff in one! Hi first in the US it's the Dump. But we dont have the option to sort out and recycle as much as you can in the UK. 2nd What is the name of your business. I am sure you have a lot of followers that go to the stone hedge area that would love to stay with you. know i would prefer to give you my business over someone else. 3rd for your storage unit stuff do you do yard sales in the UK? It's a big think in the US and the stuff we dont sell we donate it. often some organizations will pick stuff up.

I go to Cozumel several times a year. It’s safe and they cater to tourists. It’s well known for snorkeling and diving. There is the town and cruise port, then a bunch of beach clubs, farther south is a national beach park, and the east side has no electricity and just small beach clubs. Don’t swim on the east side, too rough waters at most places.

We really enjoyed watching this video. Boy can we relate to a “repositioning” year (great term for it). Hope you guys have an awesome holiday and can’t wait to watch all the videos from it. Oh and we also loved the every 6 months dose of Disney. We were just there in May for our daughter’s wedding and I’m already itching to get back. We leave our no -longer-needed items by the side of the house/ near the main road with a big sign “free to a good home “. Everything always goes and you get the satisfaction of knowing someone else will enjoy the special toys/ bikes etc and you’re helping others. Our village does a lot of that to be fair and I think it all started in Covid when the dump was closed.
I know it feels bad to give things away for free when you think they are worth £30 or more but we are now converted and only sell high value items.
That’s a good idea we have done that and things go so fast!
I really need to come up with a plan. It's living rent free in my head. I'll tackle it when we get back off of holiday. Hope you're having a great week

Hey keith- saw the vlog. Saw your storage. Had any idea for the bikes if you can me to them secure. If you have a riding area near your rooms it might be a nice outdoor activity for your guests. You could offer a security deposit for "bike rental" just in case to cover any possibility of theft. Just an idea to get some use out of your stored bikes. Enjoying the day to day as much as I enjoy Disney.

Shame! We will just miss you. We go in 45 days! We love Riviera for skyliner. But also Boulder Ridge. Love The feel. DVC rooms just been redone. The boulder ridge Lobby is well chilled and quiet. Close to MK. bay lake really needs its refurb. Have a fab time. We have yet to try the cruise. 😂

You can get around the lightening lane restrictions. I tried it and it got around the region to the point of dummy booking something. Tips on UK DVC FB pages. But change the region settings to USA and switch location off and change your address to US on MDE. It worked. 👍
I came onto the comments to say exactly this! You can book 7 days in advance from the UK - If you change your ‘country of residence’ on the app to the US and turn off your location services on your phone.

It was great to see your update. I'm really interested in seeing what you think of the OKW studio. We have DVC at Saratoga and much prefer the studios there to the OKW ones, especially when there's just the two of us. We've stayed in a one bedroom OKW before and really loved it. It's up there with the best places we've stayed at on property. Would love to stay at BLT one day, so I'm looking forward to those vlogs.
Yeah we're really excited. I have a suspicion that the studios at saratoga will be better than old key west. Cant wait to be back at okw though. Love that place

in the US on facebook we have "buy nothing" for each neighborhood. Basically you offer items up for free and if people want it they reply. Then they come and pick up from the curb. Good way to recycle items that others may want rather than taking to the dump. Not sure you have anything similar?
You are going to love the Disney Fantasy! It's my favorite ship. I like the adult areas so much better than on the Wish. I think you will enjoy it!!!

As a Brit living in the US I have never encountered anything similar (in Minnesota, anyway). They do have occasional days at council buildings where they will accept certain items to dispose of. We sell A LOT of stuff on Facebook Marketplace, but perhaps that is because there is no decent way to dispose of things otherwise haha! I next go to Disney World in May 2025- 19 month gap since we last went- cannot WAIT!

The items at the storage unit especially the bikes I was thinking would it be worth contacting Social Services like for Foster families and seeing if they want the clothes and bikes for kids/teenagers who arrive at a foster home with nothing of their own?

What about posting items for sale on some of the military base sites? I know you have a few around near where you are as my husband is based at Boscombe Down. My husband got a 2nd hand bike for getting around camp rather than driving. Any time I go into the local town when I visit I always wonder if I will bump into you guys 😂 Exciting about your trip! As far as those storage units, I very much agree with the advice your friend has given you with regard to if it's likely worth a good amount, eBay. eBay is a faff and a cost for listing and posting so it has to be worth it. The fact the charity shops are rammed foils my advice sadly 😂 I'm in the process of clearing our family home and I've basically been judging it by, if I saw this in a charity shop would I buy it, is it in the condition to be in a charity shop etc... Everything else is going straight in the bin/out for the scrap man. As a self-confessed hoarder, it has taken some doing, but literally strip the whole thing out front to back and ask yourself honestly Are you going to ever use this or display this again... If you aren't, then it's not worth hanging onto... I have no idea if that helps 😂! Also been donating toys to friends or friends of friends with children, love the feeling of knowing the enjoyment will live on through them ❤

You mentioned the new Lightning Lane Multi Pass/Single Pass and you should be able to book 7 days ahead but it only works on the app and only when you are in the USA (or Canada).
However there is a hack!
Turn off location on your phone.
Select your country as USA in the MDE app.
You should then be able to pre book your LL as if you are in the USA.
If not you may have to reinstall the app and then select USA as your country.

I did see a vlog on DVCFan ( they are the World of DVC and do resale sales,etc) she added in her vlog that calling dvc member services and they should be able to assist with the new multi pass program to get you set up since you are not in the US. I hope she was correct about that, so it would be worth a call.

Old Key West was our favourite too with family- who are also now adults and can’t come 😕. We’ve done two Disney cruises for a week each-one Mediterranean one and also the Caribbean one. We enjoyed Castaway Cay as the best stop
Don’t forget there’s an adults only part of the ship! And you can eat every meal in the dining room which is less chaotic than the self service restaurant. And I always have breakfast in the room with room service on days where we get off early.

Just been on Tiana today for the first time - loved it. Also did the new Country Bears - do NOT pass it by this was a fun 15 minutes. Queues were good today, we don't do Lightening Lanes or anything (advantage of living 40 mins away if queue too long there is always another day) 20 mins Buzz, 20 Mins Small World, 30 Mins Pirates, 40 Mins River Cruise, 35 mins Haunted. Did Western Caribbean earlier this year going back on the Treasure (just floated out today) early January. Looking forward to my next Halloween themed cruise on the Fantasy (again) taking in Lighthouse Point.

Your rooms look lovely. Have you looked for a children's charity to donate the bikes to? If you really loved a board game I suggest you keep it. We are having a blast showing our grandchildren the old games we loved. We stay at the Polynesian on most of our trips. We love being so close to the Magic Kingdom. Being able to watch the Fireworks from our resort. Also after the fireworks is the Electric Boat Parade. It is som much fun being able to watch it all from the hot tub at the resort.. Have fun!!

Don't decide cruising not for you based on a Disney cruise. Try other cruise lines first. Disney cruises are very intense compared to others. RCCL, NCL etc are very much a slower pace x
