I am 79 yrs. old and still enjoying their music daily. It makes me happy.
With an iconic band like the Eagles, surely pronouncing their names should be at the top of the list. Fact-checking, please!
They also should show the right Don when it comes to Henley
I'm not sure if the narrator is a machine or just an idiot. Not trying to be unkind but I have noticed this on a lot of these documentaries.
Dan Felder. How much else did they get wrong?
THANK YOU! Obviously, This guy doesn't know much of anything about The Eagles!!! Joe Walsh took me and another friend with him to an Eagles concert here in Memphis, Tn in 1994. I can't even listen to this clown saying FRAY & LEEDON. OMG!!! Perhaps this clown dude should watch "History of The Eagles" LOL!!! WHOA!!!
@@larrystevenson1587 Felder got a promotion!
The Eagles are one of the most iconic bands of all time. Their music will live on for years to come.
I agree with your comments 100% Tom 😊😅😂❤😊
Randy Meisner is one of the most fantastic singers of all modern music. I just started listening to him at 79 years of age. Even started buying old CD's.
Same here.
If there's one thing I'm happy about bumping into something in my life, is being able to experience the music of the Eagles. Surely I enjoyed almost every song they wrote and performed. Thank you Eagles for the great songs and you guys are a bunch of geniuses in what you do. God bless you all.
Welcome to the club Jose😊😅😂❤
All great singers in their own right, all excellent musicians and can write great songs , What more do you need!
The Eagles were in my view one of the greatest band's that ever came along, and produced iconic songs
I agree👍🏻
I’d seriously put Henley and Frey up there with Lennon and McCartney when it comes to songwriting talent
@@sloebone7399 give me the Eagles over the Beatles any day!
Yes, the Eagles stands tall forever. There cannot be bands like❤ this anymore. The music, sound, lyrics, feel and the style is legendary. A kind of a No. 1 band actually.
So true
I'll be 69 tomorrow it was a different time ☮️
The video mentioned several songs that got the Eagles into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame 😊😅😂❤❤❤😊
Only two groups I ever wanted to see were Eagles and Jimmy Buffett. I was so fortunate to achieve my goal. ❤
An amazing group, that created some of America's most memorable and recognizable, music. My all time favorite band hands down...thanks guys, absolutely loved every moment you gave.
I loved the Then & Now and hope that the Eagles come back to Vancouver I’d love to meet the guys I’ve listened to them since I was 17 years old. And still listen and play the albums I have. Rose
The Eagles of today don’t have the iconic sound of the original Eagles especially after Don Felder left! Joe Walsh and Felder had a unique musical sound together
That's why ORIGINAL is only original once.
Have seen them 3 times, never disappointed...truly the greatest group in American history...enjoy them while still performing..
I’m 63 years old and I will always remember the “The Eagles “ and listen to there songs .I would love to see them in Vancouver again. Rose
All time greatest group. Their music transcends all other types of music.
They have given me memories since 72. I still find myself spending hours in their music and my memories.
Glenn Frey , may he rest in peace, said it best within the Linda Ronstadt monologe and I quote.."We set out to be a band for our time. But if you do a good enough job, you become a band for ALL time, Kennedy Center Honors honories.
How can you do a video about the Eagles and not even know how to pronounce Glenn Frey’s name correctly ? It’s Don Felder , not Dan Felder .
No shit
Glenn Fray? Fray? Dude just reading this and knows nothing about this band
I know, he's all messed up!!
I've come to firmly believe the commentators for a lot of UA-cam's videos are not Americans and let their national language have a heavy influence how they speak and pronounce words 😊😅😮😂😮😅
And not mention Timothy Schmit wtf
Went to a eagles concert without glen frye it was like eating tacos without salsa good but something was missing RIP
My all-time favorite band! Their music takes me back to high school and those years of friends and events!! Their music is timeless and continues on, although not the same, without Glen Frey, RIP!
Eagles has been my favorit band since my teens, when I saw them performing "the hell freezes over" on PBS, I almost went nuts.
77 years old and I still love the Eagle
The original members of the band is what actually made them
Got a chance to see them live in Spokane at a sold out arena, about a year before Glenn past away....They were always my favorite band and seeing them live just reaffirmed it...Sounded incredible....
Passed away
I loved a few songs of the eagles back n 70's but i just wasnt into them that much. I like them now alot !! 1 thing i really like bout them all the songs sounded dif thats because everyone sang and i like that they r a very unique band !! The dude that sang take it to the limit had ones of the best voices, i wish he could of hung in there !!
Freshly divorced in the early '70s, this group saved my life. 'Already Gone' was an anthem for me. 50 years later now and I can't stand to hear about all the fights, betrayals, manipulation. I can't even listen to the music without thinking about what went into it. Thanks anyway guys for great music. RIP Eagles.
I had four bands back in the 70s that I really liked a lot who they were the Beatles the Eagles Creedence Clearwater revival and Led Zeppelin those were my favorite bands of the 70s I had more Beatles credence in Eagles 33 1/3 albums than anybody could ever want to ask for I had quite a Led Zeppelin collection to these were my favorite bands I appreciate learning about the Eagles they were my favorite band I’m a solo instrumental guitarist and I am playing Hotel California solo instrumental way intro vocals and ending lead solo I’ve only been playing for 46 years but I sure love the sounds of the 70s thank you for this video have a great day and a good night🎸🎼🎵👍🏼👍🏼😎❤️😃😄
One of the greatest bands of all time.
Nice seeing old photos & video 👍
not surprised at how well they have done, my favorite all time band, they are the best after all!!!
The best live band along with The Who. I have ever seen. Eagles are great. Thanks Glenn
When talking about such a Great Band as the Eagles, get your story correct.
Jim Walsh...great guitarist; Bill Henley great singer; Flen Grey, wonderful drummer. And let's not forget T. "ronstadt" Schmidt on zlyphone. This is one of the best, if not well-pronounced documentary out thee.
Specially Frey (and Don H) destroyed the popular Eagles band of all the talented musicians!! I never forgot.
I could listen to the eagles all day long.
Amazing in our younger days great music still listen to them ♥️
love you forever The Eagles
I love the eagles they are a Great band
John David Souther does not get enough credit . He was heart and soul of the Eagles .
and he got the girl , Linda
Add Jackson Browne , Linda R. and others
LOVE 😘 THE EAGLES!!! ❣️
Not one word about Randy Meisner leaving and Tim B Smith joining???
Randy Meisner was great !!!! Take it to the limit one more time..Tim was awful at singing that song.
Yeah, I guess they didn’t do their homework, obviously not a genuine fan moreover reading from a script.
@@debbiecraddock7204 Tim never sang Take It to The Limit. Glenn took over when Randy left. Now Vince Gill does it.
Pretty superficial documentary.
Glenn Frey was such a beautiful man. RIP
Got to agree with you on this! 🥰
And his voice was AWESOME
Le meilleur groupe de tous les temps !!!!
The Bestof the Best!! Good guys!!!
best band ever
I loved the Eagles back in the mid seventies… beautiful music .. great times …. Really sad that Glenn Frey passed away!!! With all respect given that is due… Don Henley and Glenn Frey were two of the biggest egotistical people in this bang Glenn thought he was the boss .. this band list a great voice in Randy Meisner !!! But hey all families break up and fight !!! But I do have to say they gave us some of the best music in our generation!!! Go Eagles!!!
All of that is true. One good thing: in spite of all the bad words and bad feeling, when the band was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame every member past & present was there. No one boycotted, no one was blackballed like some other groups have done.
@@Mister_Pedantic yeah Randy’s and Bernie’s guitars were unplugged, still it was good to see them together….
But according to Henley, it was always Glenn Frey’s band!
They all are beautiful and so talented 💓💓💓
BEST BAND EVER ‼️‼️‼️
The best.
Fabulous.
The Best Band..and Decent guys!!!
Not at all surprised of there great success,as I was a fan from the first time I heard them back in 72.
great band, a legend!
Very nice info
No word, how Frey and Henley treated Don Felder...but one word from me, concerning Henley: it was at the "Out in the Green-Concert" in 2011 in Wiesbaden, Germany, when Henley "generously" allowed the audience to take pictures. But he didn´t allow videoclips. Quote:" I don´t think I have to explain the meaning of the word to you..." Security-dudes were running up and down the seats rowes, yelling at people with video cameras in their hand while the band was performing on stage...
Such a good sounding band. Saw them in 1875 and every time they toured here. Alwayays highly professional and great sounding as a Live band should sound.
Play most of their songs.Linda Ronstadt could see how how good they'd be. The rest is history.
1875, LOL...
Timeless music
Mike Jagger and Kye Richardson loved this team!
LOL 😂
LOL!!!!!!! Who is Dan Felder??
@@americankickboxerHe played guitar for the Eagles. Look at any of their videos & you will see him.
Where are they now???????
Still touring. Now, as a quartet. Like the Stones, we can't get rid of these old relics
I was at the California jam in 1974. I was 17 years old at the time and in the US Navy in San Diego. This was a long time ago. Dam I am getting old.
Greatest band ever....sad that Glenn passed, but his son Deacon filled his shoes, with just as much talent. Got to say...those ''lion eyes''...did make me laugh out loud!
Lying eyes, ok.
always and forever my favorite band
At 5:22 you talk about the band bringing in Dan Felder. It's Don Felder.
You didn’t mention Timothy B. Schmidt at all.
Can you explain why?
I lived in Moencopi , AZ with the Talahytewa family , My songs where written by the band members working carpenters union on Interstate 40,we camped all along the way during construction. I as Randy flew my helicopter and F-35;(copy) ,private plane to other job sites ., as the western pipeline and railroad repair.
I LOVE THE *EAGLES*!!!!!💋❤️💋❤️
You missed a hell of a lot of important things with this band, you’ll do this one again
Mispronounced Souther's name, said Dan Felder, and made a few other glaring errors as well. I agree. Do some research.
@@anael169 also Glenn Frey
It’s funny how he kind of glossed over Hotel California🤣
Didn't mention the great Randy Meisner's departure.
I love eagle the whole world favourite band
So much FAIL here. Glenn's last name is pronounced 'fry'.
Your first shot introducing Don Henley actually shows Don Felder! Do you actually know ANYTHING about this band?
Bernie's last name is pronounced 'Ledden', not leeeden.
Then you called Felder DAN instead of Don.
Holy crap, dude. You need to redo your voiceover. This is just awful. 😂🤣😂
and not a single mention of Timothy B. Schmit.
Oh my! Please re-record this with the correct pronunciation of the names. You totally wrecked Frey, Leadon, Felder and several others. Sad.
Best band EVER!!!
calm down katy ffs.
I knew we were in trouble when I saw a “THE” in front of “Eagles”.
Bro's literally reading the Wikipedia article word for word.
This presentation would be more enjoyable if you would had of played snippets of the hit songs you discuss.
A really really great band!!
Great band
When you talked about Linda Ronstadt recruiting local members, you showed Glenn Frey for Frey, but then show Don Felder for Don Henley. So its confusing here - I understand that it was Henley who was recruited, and not Felder, because Felder wasn't a founding member of the Eagles, but others may get confused as to which "Don" you're meaning to refer to here.....
I'm 62 and been listening to them since I was 11. My beautiful sister introduced me to Eagle's, John Denver Carpenter's, and so many more. She's been gone since 2008 at 51 years old. It's crazy... Should have been me..
Sorry about your wonderful sister Cindy- I lost 2 of my brothers in recent yrs. All the best Cindy!
Larry
Loss never easy. I am old lost my daughter and two brothers. It hurts I know. God bless you.
Where are they now?.
That's what the upload is titled but not addressed
Linda Ronstadt seemed to be a big help to them in the beginning. She knew them at the Troubadour in CA. That was right before rock bands began to be a mix of men/women in the United States. Think of Fleetwood Mac, Heart and Pat Banatar for example. Women broke the mold and changed rock forever. I bet you money the Eagles preferred men only. I'd like to know if LInda would have wanted to be part of the group, but I bet she was never asked.
NICE!!!!! Turn great memories of the eagles into your personal BITCH/BITCH/BITCH Platform. REALLY????????????
True I always wanted a top 10 song by the Eagles performed by a female. At some point I tought "I Cant Tell You Why" was perfect for a female voice like Rondstadt's but too late now. Even Santana came up with a female singing lead vocals and that was a perfect idea for a top ten song.
RIP TBS
You should learn the correct pronunciation of names before you put this on. It’s pronounced Fry, not Fray and Ledun not Leedun for Glenn Frey and Bernie Leadon
Omg. Mispronouncing several names!
@David Shockey • I'm assuming you mean Glen Frey and Bernie Leadon !
@@1979bobhd Yes, that’s what I had said . And Glenn is two n’s
Didn't even Mentioned Hotel California which was the Album that projected their success.
If Don Henley would just be beamed up!
So the beagles were => walter fray, dan fielding, jon welsh, andy meisner, pete best, don hennessy and linda ronnie spector ? What about curt m schilling ?
Thank you!
The title of this vid says "then...and now." I don't see anything about the now part.
I got that too!
Greatest Band ever !
Everyone has opinion.
lol
The voice-over on so many UA-cam videos these days is an artificial non-human voice.
Dan Felder and Glen Free! Really, what a jirk!
This current lineup is a tribute band
Correction- 1975 and 2003 with my son. Last time Glen Frey toured.2003 in their Final Tour. Great DVD.
RIP Timothy B. Schmidt. 8/11/22
He’s still alive dude !
Yes they are one of the best live bands around having seen them on their uk tours, saw them just before Glen passed and after with Decon and Vince Gill. just a point, sack this voice over guy, if you are doing the job properly you make sure you get the names right
You've got a short clip of Roger McGuinn, then with the later Byrds, as if he were part of the band. The videos don't always coincide with the material in the audio parts. Nice try, but be a little more careful.
For some reason I feel like like stirring up some interest in a Don Henley song that I believe may be the best tune any of them ever wrote. The moment I first heard "A Month Of Sundays" I felt a deep sadness (and just a spark of hope) for America. I've been a big fan of Springsteen's work in this area, and I think Henley is the only artist to attain that level of honesty, faith and love for our country. Good work, Tex. Really, though, I'm still in awe of the first-person viewpoint and simple beauty of that song. I hope this is just black humor, but I have a fantasy of duct-taping The Donald to a chair with headphones on and an endless loop of "A Month Of Sundays" playin'. Trump likely wouldn''t get it, but -- we all need a dream...
Their harmony was as good if not better than the BEE GEES, AND DOBBIES, ALL THREE BANDS WERE EXTRODINARE. HEART WAS ALSO IN THAT GROUP ALONG WITH FLEETWOOD MAC.
If you cannot pronounce their names why are you the narrator?
🙏glen frey🤘
You failed to tell us the names of the three hit songs… on their first album!
They should write a song; Always there.
Name pronunciation is lacking , but I gave you a thumbs up anyway.
