    I love Sea kayaks, and seeing you guys plan a camping trip, with the beautiful ocean. Fully packed with all you need including safety gear, and equipment for your kayaks. I have a 12 ft, 4k dollar kayak. With the factory trolling motor, and a small motor on my rudder. Electronics, USB chargers, lithium batteries, and all I ever need if I were stranded on an island. Shelter, first aid, water , food, communication, and always do a 3 day fishing trip with friends. So many people go out with no maps, gps, signal devices, lights. Everything you need to survive. It'll happen to everyone. Beautiful trip and video. I Really enjoyed it!.Stay safe my friends.

      Bruce Fummey tells the story well on his youtube channel Scotland History Tours - look for Skye Crofters Wars in the playlists. There are also videos about the Highland Clearances and about Scots in Canada, giving other parts of the story.
      I also recommend Andy Wightman's book "The Poor Had No Lawyers" which describes in detail how landowners came to own millions of acres across Scotland, including on the Isle of Skye, that had been held in common.

    3 mph says you are taking your time - which is good when there is so much to see around.

    How wet are you at the end of the day?

    • @getwet501
      @getwet501  2 роки тому +1

      Hi, yea 3mph average isn't rushing, but were not trying to, as you say lots to see. Re spare paddle, its fairly standard procedure to carry one on such a trip, I've never needed it, but I have seen paddles get broken. The dry suits we wear keep us fairly dry, but just a touch damp from persperation

    • @getwet501
      @getwet501  2 роки тому

      @@thomasjensen3214 Hi, yea its Valley making the evolution versions, which are slightly tweaked versions of the Northshore Ocean and Atlantic that Mike Nelson made. If you have a Ocean 17.6 Im fairly sure you will find the Evolution Voyager version slightly smaller fit. My Ocean ( the white decked boat) is the 17" size and I bought it off a mate who up sized to the 17"6 because he found mine tight. I believe the Evolution Voyager at 17"2 sized between the two in length and cockpit volume etc. Hope this helps

    • @getwet501
      @getwet501  Рік тому

      Thanks for the input, I do understand, indeed its hard to get it right for everyone. Heavy breathing picked up by the mouth mounted camera, a squeeky paddle noise (wet skin on the paddle shaft) and very boring conversations do detract from the natural sound and steer me towards adding some form of music

  • @katiegalloway6751
    @katiegalloway6751 5 місяців тому

    • @getwet501
      @getwet501  5 місяців тому

      @katiegalloway6751 thanks for your input. I agree the voice and music volume balance isn't so good on this one, though it depends on your device, it can sound fine on some devices but not on otheres, that's my excuse😅 and it was my first attempt with a voice over.. go pro volume is very variable, I think it gets water in the microphone affecting the quality, also using a mouth mount I can get heavy breathing recorded, which isn't good!!! So like it or not, some music is probably the best option, but I hope the balance in my more recent videos is better. Cheers
