This is perfect proof at what great talented and genuine people TSO really are; the way they all support her when she stops, the way Al goes straight to her as if he knows she is struggling with her emotions, and the way the band slow down but without faltering in a way that is so professional you could hardly tell it wasn't deliberate: I don't think i have ever seen a band or singers that truly feel their own songs so much & support their own family of people with such style and grace.
Nothing wrong when human emotions surface. It was sweet and professional how they all handled the situation, especially Al being right there for her. Chloe, the band and audience all came together in their hearts.
+Rich Thenative I agree. Every time I listen to this song, I break down bawling. This performance is even more emotional than the album version from *"Beethoven's Last Night."* 😭
I was there too... This actually made ME tear up... AMAZING performance, AMAZING talent, AMAZING woman!!! What concerned me the most is that she wasn't oat the meet, greet & autograph table after the show...
Profesionalism and human emotions. What a wonderful combination ! When they play, we could think they are not from this planet, but when such a moment occurs, we can see they are human beens like us. All my respect and best wishes for one of the best rock bands ever !
Professionalism, family and love of music. this video epitomizes the heart and soul of this fantastic group of dedicated artists. God bless you all and thanks for the memories!
This is what music is about! Chloe never said what memory hit her, but the recovery on stage by her mates was phenomenal. This is the epitome of teamwork! Most moving video I have seen live The spirit of the Lord was on stage, and a vessel of the guitarist, a wonderful person as entertainer. He pulled Chloe back together, gave her strength and love, and what an amazing , truly emotional and tearful sight to see. I feel the pain on film or whatever digital is called now, and Rock on Chloe and rock on TSO YOU are really family
@@krystalharwood6359 Anything is possible. Every time I listen to this live version of *"After The Fall",* I always end up bawling like a baby. I don't know why, since I'm not the least bit religious. It's just the emotion in her voice when she sings. It's that kind of song.
So do I. I love how her bandmates offers her emotional support, giving her a hug, asking her if she's ok, letting her compose herself before singing her heart out. That's awesome!
I was there and i thought it was part of the show until i meet Chloe and she told me it wasn't. This is probably the coolest thing i have ever seen at a concert.
two things that just happened to me... the first is i'm wondering how come currently 3 people weren't touched by this? and the second, i have even more respect than i did before. these guys are so cool, cant wait to see them again!
i used to get that way singing some of my church songs for ministry. my mom would listen and say ''the more you keep practicing you'll conquer the emotional effects.'' i would always come out victorious and not cry when it came to singing my songs in front of the congregation
Al Pitrelli continued playing one handed, while his pick hand was holding Chloe's hand, telling her repeatedly "You're Okay!" Also watch as he hugs her he STILL plays the last chord change one handed hugging Chloe! She stated the song was always SO EMOTIONAL but a personal/family situation had recently occurred and that this song ALWAYS did this, although never like this, but this day she said she was UNABLE to continue until Guitarist/Musical Director Al Pitrelli gave her such INCREDIBLE SUPPORT!
I saw them on this tour in Columbia, SC on 3/14/2012, so 11 months after this. Chloe started crying during this song but never missed a note. Al was there in the background behind her and as she turned from the microphone, just before the dancing started, he gave a motion to her asking if she was ok. I watched this from the 5th row and saw it clearly. I very was moved by the whole incident. I never knew the back story until seeing this video. Thanks for that. There are at least two very good videos on here of that show/song. Just search by the date.
@@wilhelmsbane6160 I'm not 100% but I think it was a close family member had recently passed away after a long illness so the words, and meaning, behind this song being about having more time with someone always struck her as sad. I wish I could find the site that she was interviewed on but somehow it got to this song now having a personal meaning to her. She talked about being a very emotional person who is "seen crying from time to time" but this was the toughest song for her to sing. I want to say she was asked about the very complex show to put in and none of the songs were not overly difficult technique-wise but that this song was the most difficult for her to get through - then she talked about a difficult time frame for her and this night was when it culminated for her during this song. I've seen them 5 times and the most recent I was 11th row center. They had an arm on the left and on the right and they formed a catwalk and it was 2 rows in front - not too close to not see them but close enough that they were standing there jamming guitars 20 feet above, and 5 feet in front of us! The mindblowing thing is I'm around 50 and half the crowd is younger then me and half of them are my age or older!
Wow now I'm setting my car with tears trickling down my cheeks ,this was so touching seeing someone of her status and professionalism show emotion, I love seeing larger than life show us they do have a heart and feelings it's so beautiful and the way that Al stops playing and embraces her reminds me of why I love TSO so much!
A lot of TSO's music brings tears to my eyes with it's expressiveness and beauty. What astounds me is that more of their vocalists don't get that emotional.I guess it's a good thing, they'd never get through a show!
One of the most poignant videos I have seen in my life. I used this video as an example to an up and coming band that does covers for the Ramones, on how to be professional on stage these teenage artists listened to me and were polite and soaked in the advice. they were completely awed that i knew Marky Ramone personally and as a bonus to this hard working band I gave my my advice on stage etiquette , team work and lovely recovery. The audience will never forget this moment andf it gives TSO my undying and everlasting love and respect, Their guitarist rocked the walls off and his love and dedication for his band mates , Chloe in this instance. was outstanding I wish there were a medal of honor for musicians as he deserved it ten fold! I contacted Marky this morning and made him aware of this up and coming teenage band, and I know there were smiles galore! And what did I gain, I gained the wisdom and gave the wisdom by this action on doing the right thing for the right people in the right c circumstance, and i know this band will be a success in the future generations. Somebody will undoubtedly comment what the hell does this have to do with anything, Well I used this exact video to hammer a point across of the extreme professionalism and love TSO gives all artists and I am so proud that the young artists listened to me and took it in very well. I chose at that time to contact Mark Ramone and tell him about this band and how impressed i was with the,m, as they saw the example of TSO and their etiquette. by the way I do my radio interview with this band on this coming Friday, and then I will tell these great kids, this, I was so taken by you actually listening to an old pro, that I decided to not only tell my friend Marky about you , but I told him that you guys rock and will do the music industry proud in the future. They will learn this Friday and I cannot wait. Watched this a few times, each time it gets me. Just noticed at the end, he looks back towards where he walked her off and give her a clap of his own. Least that's my impression, well played sir!
This is now my favourite version of this song. It's so amazing they way the band kept on playing and she finished the song with such fervour and feeling. It's an emotional and powerful song, and I get slightly teary eyed just listening to it, so I can't even imagine what the emotions must've been when the song was written. I wouldn't have felt anything this intense if she didn't pour so much emotion into the song. Absolutely stupendous. Gorgeous. Brilliant.
I never get tired of this song. It's even more emotional than the studio album/CD version. I remember bawling like a baby the first time I heard this live version of *"After the Fall".* Awesome performance! 😭
Bought this album in 2000 and can't get through it without crying a bit (well a lot) either. I was to be a Junior in uni after this summer and the one thing I always remember is that it was the first metal album I ever bought that my parents wanted to listen to with me.
I happened to ask Chloe about this when they were in town Dec 1 (Glendale AZ) - She just shrugged it off as if it was just a bit emotional for her at the time. Also, read a interview, somebody had with her - Again, the emotionality of the song hit her at a time when her own personal life had some edges, etc., (Remember, she's only 25 - and youth has lots of heartaches). Al really stepped to the plate and gave what she needed. I love this group and learning more about Savatage every day.
If you look around you can find videos taken from the first or second row where you can watch her face. You can see that she that she's always fighting to keep her composure whenever she sings it. This is an emotionally powerful song, and it genuinely touches her every time.
TSO as indivuduals are relatively unknown artists (no big names) but as a band they are a tight and an amazing consumate group of performers. I have not seen them since 2006 but have seen their evolution through recordings and videos, I hope to have the chance to see them in 2013, Merry Christmas to all TSO Fans!
Bravissimo to each and every one of the superb people of TSO - that is exactly what this is all about. It doesn't get any better thank this. Great thanks to Tausch Um for sharing here!!!
I love that they played this song up a half step on the 2011 and 2012 BLN tours. So much more passion in it I think in this key. This has to be my favorite video of this song out of all 3 years they did BLN
The real story about why she got so emotional she stated in and interview that at that time she was going through a personal conflict and the song just brought it all out and she got emotional and she sad when AL went over and grabbed her he said "your okay your okay"
That's what I call musicianship. When someone in the band is struggling with his/her emotions, someone needs to help to pull together and continue the performance.
Beautiful performance! Awesome musicianship! I love how the band offers her emotional encouragement and lets her compose herself before continuing to sing. I like that.
I agree. That's what bands should do. If a band member gets emotional and is unable to sing, they should help in any way possible. I remember when I first heard this song. It felt so emotional, that I broke down crying, which doesn't happen very often.
I would Hatevri have to foot the bill for the repairs to the arena after she blew the back wall out of it after she came back up to the microphone! This video never gets old
This is exactly what music should be. The singer gets so into it, their emotions show. Absolutely amazing. I’m so sad I don’t get to see them this year
Krista Hamczyk It has been a wish and dream of mine to see them during the holidays, what better time to see them. Recently I moved back to my hometown with the help of some lifelong friends. One of whom is the reasons for my salvation by returning home. This amazing friend is now my sister, and we both have made this a bucket list concert. A promise made to never see them unless the other is able to be there. A bittersweet promise and dream that may never come true. I think of all this when I see and hear this performance. Maybe I’ve shared too much to a stranger, but I couldn’t agree with you more, and just felt like sharing.
I agree. The first time I heard this performance, even I burst into tears. I found it even more emotional than the album (CD) version of *"Beethoven's Last Night".*
When I "crave a TSO fix" I come here and get lost in time and space, going from one concert to one video after another!! My memories of meeting and talking to each member of TSO created a high in me I will have for the rest of my life!!! Thank you and God Bless You TSO!!!!
I totally agree. I also saw Chloe with Yanni Voices and saw her with TSO on this tour. She is excellent. Leslie Mills from Yanni Voices is another great talent.
William Boothman My favorite Chloe song from Yanni Voices, is "Change" ... (especially her live appearance in Acapulco, back in 2008) ..Love her duets with Ender Thomas, especially "Mi Todo Eres Tu (Hasta el Último Momento)"
William Boothman For Leslie Mills ....my favorites are "The Keeper" and "Before The Night Ends" .... I also like Ender Thomas and when he sings "Ritual De Amor (Desire)" .....oooh myyyy!!
I can't imagine that's what he was saying. It's difficult to not get emotional sometimes. Sometimes one just needs a little friendly encouragement to continue. That's what I love about TSO.
I agree. Just because this is a business, and that they're there to draw a crowd and to make money, it's still good to help those within the band when they get emotional. To offer encouragement, and to help them compose themselves so they can continue.
@MStang747 I thought it was part of the act right up until I checked the Berlin version on UA-cam when I got home. The way she came back and finished it, it almost sounded like it was planned (and very well-executed, I might add).
@jimmywacked That "for the last time" line is part of the story, so they say that every night. Besides that, this was on April 2nd and she finished out the tour, so it couldn't have been her last night.
I can listen to this song(And Chloe ofc) all day, this song is my absolute fav of this event and one of my favorite from the group I have not found anything online, why was she crying here?
I have to laugh at the comments. The ones especially saying, "she's left the band" are comical. She has been with them every year since then. She hasn't left. Her own career with Chameleon was separate and during the TSO "off season".
For reasons unknown, eh? Well it seems perfectly obvious to me that it's the song itself. For anybody with the slightest bit of self reflection or self-awareness, the song's lyrics are designed to jerk the melancholy tears out of you: "I've had the right motivation but I don't know if the universe even cares about that." "For the chances I've had are now long gone" has got to be one of world culture's most straightforward ways of confronting mortality. We've only got this long to make a difference and once we've blown it there's no going back. When it's done that star is no longer wished upon. "I have tried to pretend that I don't care, but in every dream I find you there." However hard we try to ignore the important events and people in our lives, they make their presence felt in our thoughts regardless. Dick Cheney is not ever going to get his sentence commuted over that guy whose face he blew off. The awful thing I said to the love of my life that one time? I'm not going to get to undo that. There's that one moment when you realize what you regret, what you can't reclaim and you're not ever going to be able to forget.
Did no one hear what the narrator who said .."Now for the Last Time".. She's left the band → pursuing her own career.! simple. emotions happen.. into the sunset she goes.!
@@paxmedic It's from the narration. Theresa (the character Chloe is portraying) sees Beethoven walking down the street with the final line being "As she watched him for the very last time." The lyrics of the song are her thoughts, which Fate lets Beethoven hear.
Chloe (here in the role of Theresa) is still a performing member of TSO - read the story that goes along with the lyrics - TSO vocalists are not just singing Pauls amazing lyrics they are acting out parts written about in the song she was simply overcome by the spot her character found herself in - all the other things were incidental to the moment "...Fate then reminds him of Theresa, his first and greatest love. Together they witness the young couple's first night together. Young Beethoven is already being called the greatest piano player who has ever lived and Theresa is a Princess in the Habsburg Empire. They are both deeply in love. Beethoven tells Fate that this was the happiest moment of his life. When she asks why did it have to end he replies, "Because it had to. " Fate again inquires, "Why?" "No woman wants to spend her life with a deaf musician, let alone a lady of such high station and beauty." Fate takes them to Beethoven's parlor in 1801. There they see the composer slumped over the piano. He is going deaf and he realizes that it is irreversible. As far as he is concerned, his life is over. Beethoven believes that if Theresa were to have discovered that he was becoming deaf she would most certainly have left him. Before this could happen, he ended their relationship refusing to ever see her again. Fate takes him outside of his townhouse where Theresa is watching him through the window. She can see him slumped over the piano. She does not understand why he has driven her out of his life. She knows that something is terribly wrong but has no idea what it is. Nothing that he could tell her would affect her love for him, but Beethoven cannot believe this. Beethoven says to Fate that it is now clear to him that it was his deafness that was the cause of all his unhappiness. "Remove this infirmity and my whole life will turn out as I had imagined. If I had not gone deaf I would still have been able to perform live and Theresa and I would have had a life together." Fate assures him that it can be done but once again feels she must warn him of the consequences. She points out that before his deafness his career was more concentrated on live performance than on composing. The Muses of music had always been speaking to him but it was only after he became deaf that he could clearly hear their voices. "Your live performances were brilliant but they lasted but a moment, while your compositions will echo forever." She then shows Beethoven himself slipping deeper and deeper into his pit of total silence, but all the while the Muses continue to whisper in his ear. Beethoven once more relents when he realizes what he would lose. Fate then takes him to an alley outside a neighborhood tavern. It is years later and both Beethoven and Theresa are considerably older. Neither one of them has ever married. By pure chance, Theresa sees Beethoven leaving a bar late at night but she does not make her presence known to him. From a distance she ponders what might have been. Beethoven realizes that Theresa never would have cared about his deafness and is crushed as he realizes what might have been. To ease the pain of his regret, Fate then shows him glimpses of the future and the countless musicians who will be inspired by, and build upon the legacy of his music. She then allows him a final vision; a vision in which he improvises with musicians from the past by whom he was inspired, as well as musicians from the future, who will be inspired by him. Fate allows him to see some of the countless people who will be touched, consoled and transformed by his music; a woman who has lost her husband and finds peace in listening to the “Pastoral Symphony,” a child who is crippled forgetting his infirmity while lost in the “Ode To Joy.” At the end of this last minute review of his life, he now realizes that the removal of what he considers the most painful moments of his life also removes the inspiration for what he considers his finest work. Change one thing and he changes it all..." - Paul O'Neill

Very emotional lyrics. Very talented young lady. Cannot wait to see her and TSO live in a few weeks!
I agree. The first time I heard this performance, even I burst into tears. I found it even more emotional than the album (CD) version of *"Beethoven's Last Night".*
I love how Al immediately goes up to her....very professional
good music touches the soul . this is good music.
You're right!
William Boothman I wish I could've seen Chloe's performance with Yanni. I love his music as well. :)
Mine as well but I put Theory of Everything at the top of my Leslie Mills list.
this song tears my heart out every time i hear it i would get emotional too
This is a prime example to what true professionalism is in every aspect of the form, in this business!
Bravo, TSO, Bravo!!!
Everytime I hear Chloe sing, MAJOR Goosebumps!
Aww Chloe! You are such an amazing person, singer & performer!!! We love you so much! ;) -3-3-3 xoxo
Touching moment. Great video. I'll be watching this one often.
I can't imagine that's what he was saying. It's difficult to not get emotional sometimes. Sometimes one just needs a little friendly encouragement to continue. That's what I love about TSO.
"...did ya hear the one about..." 😁
was there that night and it made it a special preformance and she did awsome
no...he probably said, ''it's ok, Chloe. We're all here for you. Try your best.''
Every TSO concert I have been to.has ties to some emotionally difficult time in my life.and while it always brought a touch of healing.
This is what I like about artist.music is suppose to stir emotions
Wow, that was awesome! Al rules.
Awesome! My fav tune!
I agree. Just because this is a business, and that they're there to draw a crowd and to make money, it's still good to help those within the band when they get emotional. To offer encouragement, and to help them compose themselves so they can continue.
I've been a vocalist, and to sing when your vocal cords are choking with emotion is an extremely hard thing to do.
Besides that, this was on April 2nd and she finished out the tour, so it couldn't have been her last night.
gawd this has happened to me in church singing sometimes but god gives me courage to pick back up and start again
I can listen to this song(And Chloe ofc) all day, this song is my absolute fav of this event and one of my favorite from the group
I have not found anything online, why was she crying here?
I have to laugh at the comments. The ones especially saying, "she's left the band" are comical. She has been with them every year since then. She hasn't left. Her own career with Chameleon was separate and during the TSO "off season".
+Anthony R Like Mee Eun Kim. She hasn't appeared in every TSO tour, but she is still a part of the TSO family.
+Grant Stoutenburg Which tour has she missed?
Anthony R Winter 2013
+Grant Stoutenburg No she didn't. She was there for Winter 2013. I remember it being the first time I ever saw her.
i love how al pitrelli walked toward to chloe.
They rock!
WOW!!
LOVE LOVE LOVE. Wow
DoNNa RPM , you are so right on it GF
Jimmy, the narrator was talking about Theresa and the last time she saw Beethoven before he died. It's not about Chloe's last appearance with TSO.
I WANNA JOIN THIS BAND LOL.
I love TSO.
Tausch Um maybe she was just getting into the role and feeling what the character felt. sometimes lyrics just hit you like that
@caseysterly Did she give any indication as to why it happened? Not that it's any of my business, but I'm curious. :)
Did no one hear what the narrator who said .."Now for the Last Time".. She's left the band → pursuing her own career.! simple. emotions happen.. into the sunset she goes.!
No, she didn't leave the band. In fact she's still their star. "The last time" refers to the fact that it was the last show of the tour.
@@paxmedic It's from the narration. Theresa (the character Chloe is portraying) sees Beethoven walking down the street with the final line being "As she watched him for the very last time." The lyrics of the song are her thoughts, which Fate lets Beethoven hear.
Chloe (here in the role of Theresa) is still a performing member of TSO - read the story that goes along with the lyrics - TSO vocalists are not just singing Pauls amazing lyrics they are acting out parts written about in the song she was simply overcome by the spot her character found herself in - all the other things were incidental to the moment
"...Fate then reminds him of Theresa, his first and greatest love.
Fate again inquires, "Why?"
"No woman wants to spend her life with a deaf musician, let alone a lady of such high station and beauty."
Fate takes them to Beethoven's parlor in 1801.
If I had not gone deaf I would still have been able to perform live and Theresa and I would have had a life together."
Fate assures him that it can be done but once again feels she must warn him of the consequences. She points out that before his deafness his career was more concentrated on live performance than on composing. The Muses of music had always been speaking to him but it was only after he became deaf that he could clearly hear their voices. "Your live performances were brilliant but they lasted but a moment, while your compositions will echo forever."
She then shows Beethoven himself slipping deeper and deeper into his pit of total silence, but all the while the Muses continue to whisper in his ear.
Fate allows him to see some of the countless people who will be touched, consoled and transformed by his music; a woman who has lost her husband and finds peace in listening to the “Pastoral Symphony,” a child who is crippled forgetting his infirmity while lost in the “Ode To Joy.”
At the end of this last minute review of his life, he now realizes that the removal of what he considers the most painful moments of his life also removes the inspiration for what he considers his finest work. Change one thing and he changes it all..." - Paul O'Neill

I got very emotional myself.
@BabySaloma If you think being in this band is wasting her talent, perhaps you should give up listening to music.
*at - not oat... lol!
@TauschUm No she didn't.......i think she got too caught up in the moment
Music's too loud!! Chloe is great.
@jimmywacked it's sad that she wasting her talent in this band... She can make a wonderful career in show-busines...
maybe she was just getting too into her character portrayal
