It doesn't work that way. Tiny car , big engine. Basic math says that it doesn't work. That engine needs a mid engine chassis. Kit car. Otherwise its will not fit and work properly.
Ah, my own method of small block/chevy lm7/ls1 style v8 engine maintenance. If there's oil under it, there's oil in it, if the oil gauge shudders it needs a quart and if the coolant temp stays around 120 degrees, 8t needs more coolant. Else? Beat the brakes off her. 😂

Ive been on the track with the 6 rotor from New zealand. The sound when that thing just flys past you is insane. The only thing that comes close is oldschool 90s formula 1 engines

Rob Dahm is rebuilding the 12 rotory engine. I have seen his videos. That engine weighs in at 949 l.b.s.. That weighs just as much as a Dodge 426 HEMI V8 engine.
A quad turbo setup would be the way to go, similar to Bugatti with 2 smaller turbos for low to mid range power and the 2 larger turbos for mid to high range 💪💪
I learned of this engine from your video and got so excited when it was delivered to Rob because I knew what it was. The breakdown was so entertaining to se the quality of work that went into that.
Rob just did a full rebuild video on this engine . it's so damn complex it would make anyone rip out there own hair just trying to make sure it's timed right .hopefully in his next video we can see it running again for the first time in years. wish him luck this engine is a pain in the ass but it's in the right hands.
Rob mentioned during the rebuild that the engine goes for about 300,000 miles, in marine applications, before apex seals need replacing… those apex seals were amazing! 😅
Everybody loves Rob he's such a down to earth guy and is very smart as well I think that he is the best suited for this build and I think we're all excited to see what's to come
Honestly don’t think they would be able to get it over 7-8k before it overheats. Sadly 12 rotors running 10k rpm would produce Way too much heat for anything to cool😢

@@link2g715 the thing is running a constant stream of cold water through it unlike a normal car where you are limited by the capacity of a colling system. This was build for a boat. However the 2k hp thing has been prove to be false. The builder has said that in a video of rob dahm allready. And how should that thing even produce 2k hp? It is using mazda rotors, so that means its prettymuch 6 13b's together. If we take the highest claimed hp for a n/a mazda rotary then we would be look at around 1400hp. Now we might lose some internal drag losses, but there is not 600hp gained in that. And yes there are ways to get more power then mazda did. But i dont think this 12 rotor has insane port timings from what i have seen. So there is no way this thing would be running prettymuch 330hp n/a 13b's. To even get 330hp from a naturally aspirated 13b you are allready looking at peripheral ports wich this thing clrealy didnt have.
The problem isn't just heat, it's engine harmonics, a rotary can rev high because it's essentially counterbalanced by the other rotor. Having them in that configuration may lead to engine harmonics that could break the engine if revved to high, id be surprised if it ever reached over 6.5k

Its crazy how much displacment these things can squeeze into something roughly thd size of a large V8. If you measure the displacement the same way a piston engine is its 23.4L or 1428ci. The Mazda was 7.8l or 476ci.
Would love to see the engine after it finds it forever home. With it having Chevy big block dimensions and even the mounts and transmission housing I believe were Chevy big block bolt pattern so the possibilities are endless, but if I remember correctly it was going into a boat.. what ever it is installed to I'm sure it is an epic machine in design, performance, and beauty..

I don't think so. I just looked into it. Still seems to have the same problems the wankel rotary has and then some additional problems to go with it. The apex seals are still attached to the rotors and then the shape of the rotors will lend itself to some excessive NVH unless counterweights are used, which is far from ideal. The Liquid Piston engine seems to have solved all the problems of the Wankel rotary, namely the fact that the rotor seals are located in the rotor housing which means they're easier to lubricate.
Great concept for an engine. Think about it: 12 40 cubic inch rotors = 480 cubic inches of Wankel displacement, which is equal to 960 cubic inches in a 4-stroke reciprocating engine. But looking at the water cooling holes around the rotor housings, I'm skeptical that the engine would be durable if it was run at high power for long periods.
Bro, leave it to Rob to boost the absolute SICKEST Wankel Rotary engine ever built! SO many people doubted him when he built his 4 rotor AWD FD RX7 and kept talking crap about him, and I was one of the only people who was seriously optimistic about it and I kept leaving him some of his only positive comments and I was doing my best to help support him and it turned out to be an absolute MONSTER! Even his 20b 3 rotor turbocharged RX7 was a 1000 whp monster.
6000hp is the same HP our GE AC6000C locomotives put out, which is insane. Granted a diesel has torque, and these have enough to shred six inch steel plates, but the HP rating being the same is amazing.
You have to watch today on Rob because 3 days ago he started building a miracle and maybe the next time we'll see that thing humming in some new sounds from the incredible 5000 horsepower 12 rotary. It looks great and take a visit; that was a butch* to build.
