    Not stealing your thunder at all! Excellent video! Great job coupling a wedge with it.
    I first saw these in use in 2013 on deployment with EOD and Team guys. I’ve carried one or an actual halligan since 2016 when I left active duty and went into LE.
    For those wondering if they need one? YES!!! From firefighting, breaching , auto accidents, or general use on the ranch the modified fubar is excellent.

    Our host is going to hate this comment. Beaked FU-BAR. The first one I saw went home with me to be a poorboy's breaching bar 11 or 12 years later, and a month later I saw a very smiliar mod on the ITS Tactical blog. I took off about half of the lower tine so I could get a grip on two-bys still. That Christmas, go home, and lo and behold my brother (EMT and vol firefighter) had one in his truck almost identical to our host's. I think a few hundred off us have re-invented this good idea over the years.

    Draw filling would be the best technique for flattening the top of the hook. Take the bulk with the flap disk and finish with a file.

    Stanley fubar, made in china, $85 plus the cutting/grinding wheels, the labor and it's not a Halligan bar. It's more like something a criminal would use. Good luck with that.

      @@LFAnon hes just salty that its not american made lol if it was it would probably be $200+ dollars and forged in heavier steel definatley not bashing american made stuff but its either not UK friendly or a huge import tax and exchange rates. @Lfanon new subcriber loving the content to being creative on a budget, improvise over come. love it. shame myself excluded most the United kingdomcitizens don't adopt this more about self help preparedness.

    Are you still using this? Is it worth getting?

      I carry it when I ride out as captain with a small tool bag. Sometimes when I am backseat I carry a full hali and a pig instead.
      I wish my dept fought enough fire for me to tell you how well it works. We dont. But I do think its worth it at less than $100. Especially if you dont have a halligan for every guy on the truck.

    What is the wedge you have stored at the on your halligan and take off at :55?

    • @LFAnon
      @LFAnon  5 місяців тому +5

      Just an aluminum wedge with two holes drilled in it for the spike of a halligan. Very common in the fire service, kind of a consumable if you are forcing doors a lot because the alum is so soft. Should be pretty easy to find online!
