I found this song a few days ago and have been listening to it since. This is a great cover! Good job.

I noticed you liked death doom. So, you might like some of these bands!
    My Dying Bride:
    The Dreadful Hours
The Angel and the Dark River
    Mar de Grises:
    Draining the Waterheart
    The Tatterdemalion Express
    Ceremonium:
    No Longer Silent
Also a great prog metal album, Remedy Lane, by Pain of Salvation

      Hi there,
Yes doom/death is one of my favorite style.
      * My Dying Bride: sure a classic! But I never really appreciate I think because of the voice. I bought The Angel and the Dark River and The Light and the End of the World back in the 90's :D
      * Mar de Grises: one of the best doom/death band for me. Sooo underrated. Their 3 albums are quite different but excellent. Too bad they split up... I plan to do a cover for a long time but I haven't found the song yet.
      * Ceremonium: never heard. I'll check it out very soon.
      * Pain of Salvation: I know this band for a long time but never listened. Maybe it's time!
If you like Swallow the Sun, I discovered a band some times ago: Silvered. I thought it was STS at first... Their album Six Hours is close to what STS was in the Hope period. Very well done IMO.
      Thanks for sharing 🤘

@@approximativeguitarcovers I will say that Ceremonium is an equal mix of old-school melodeath and deathdoom. A lot faster at times and less atmospheric which comes from the melodeath influence.
Edit: You might also like Persefone. Super technical, intense prog metal

For ceremonium old school death metal is actually what I thought in the first place and then came the atmospheric parts. The sound is quite raw for a release of 2000 😄
Persefone I put it on my list thanks.

Haha it seems you belong to a world that no longer exists, like me. I've been a reviewer in a french metal webzine for 10 years (Thrashocore in case you heard about) and I do see what you're talking about. I don't have much time to listen to new things nowadays but I'm still interested in great written reviews. I also discovered tons of great bands during these years (an tons of bad ones too). I'm afraid that's not really what people want today.
And with the digital market and home studios, everybody can produce music. It's hard to follow the offer. Also labels are not a quality mark anymore (remember nuclear blast in the 90s) expect the little ones maybe. So I mostly stick to albums I like and bands I follow that still create great things :)
Always a pleasure to talk about music. Thanks 🤘

Good cover.. Something little is off at the end of the intro riff. Lower notes missing. That doesn't mean it's bad and I think your cover sounds good :)

Thanks! That's an old one, I might have missed something yes.

They play something like this on live shows as in the link below.
This is one octave lower than in record. It is more relaxed to play why they might go like that.
Higher octave is played more/less on two high strings, but somewhat ringing of notes is partially limited (with reasonable note patterns) where that heavy chorus/delay effect seems to give more life to that melody overall.
It also might be that on record that melody is played with custom tuning for better string arrangement (or by using Digitech Whammy/octave pedal) and they do not play it live that way for the sake of simplicity.

Do it in drop C, that is the usual tuning of the band. Its also easier.

Thanks Ivan, no doubt about it. But I'm too lazy to tune my guitar so I try to play metal in E :p
