A simple alternative to replacing the horn is to adjust the existing horn's tone/volum. the factory horn has a single Phillips screw on the back of the factory horn (you have to take out the 12mm headed mounting bracket bolt to see it) and thought it looked like an adjustment screw. Sure enough, I played with it and got a way better sound from the horn. You have to take out the big plastic cover in the front, with the hood opener hole to get to the horn, but not a big deal with small blade screw driver and pliers.
Dude you read my mind I just got a 2024 CRV and the horn is pitiful, I need to upgrade for sure. thanks👍
@@zoomgas2803 Thanks, I did it to my 2015 crv a few years ago, but wasn't sure about my 2024 until I saw your video, thanks, oh and by the way collage hills honda is out of stock on the horn kits.
I hope you are planning on making a video on how to upgrade the 2023 Honda CR-V rear signal lights from incandescent to LED.
Sounds a lot better now!
Thank you so much! I can’t believe how puny the stock horn sounded. I was worried I would have to drop my bumper like on my 19 Civic.
Ya, I did get my Civic upgraded w/out dropping bumper, video of that on my Civic playlist. But it did take a removal of a bracket. Now both sound much better!!
This is a great overview of installation and operation. Especially liked the before and after volume from inside another car. College Honda is currently "out of stock" so I'll look for another option. Again, excellent!
I want obe to sound like a train 😊
This is great information! I can't believe Honda put this janky azz horn in the 2023 model CRV...I can scream louder than my car horn...smh!
The Wolo horns are very nice and sound great, have used for over 10 years w no issues.
A heads up to those with a different trim level - where ZoomGas installs the new horn you may have a circular sensor already installed there. If so on the other side of the engine bay there's already a tapped grommet where you can attach the 2nd horn. You can even use the gold screw from the horn kit for mounting. It looks almost stock!
I believe that circular thing on hybrid models is the "acoustic vehicle alerting system" - aka the humming noise when in reverse or full-ev mode.
@@hddrummer29 We bought a 2023 CR-V Sport Touring last weekend. The dealership referred to it as angels singing. It is a strange sound for sure.
I can’t even tell if other drivers can hear my horn when I push on it. Barely hear it over the fans when I’m running the windshield defroster on full blast in the winter.
Im also confused on like how you trimmed the ends off of the horn harness.
I would’ve swapped it for a 22 Civic horn to match with all other CR-V generations of meep horns. Still sounds good though.
I got the 2024 Hybrid Touring and i thought it was just me when i heard my horn for the first time. Can i not just replace the oem horn with a much louder one?
WOW GREAT UPGRADE. Thanks for sharing!! May i ask where you bought the plugs that exactly fits the factory ?
In the description, thanks for the kind comments and glad you found it useful! Thanks for watching!
In reply to your filter change video.
If this is the same 2023 CRV EXL, the one in this video has a SQUARE filter.
This engine bay is not the same in the video I commented on earlier.
@zoomgas2803 how do the clips come out of the trim piece covering the horn? And would directly swapping out the horn with a low tone instead of adding a second one be good enough?
The 6 clips come out by pulling up w the tool shown in the video on the center of the clip. If you only swap the horn it will not give you the fuller, dual tone, just a lower ‘meep meep’. Thanks for watching!
can you also show me anything like fog light for that's model... Boot hood liner... Thank you in advance
Let me know what type of upgrade you looking for me to do, or if your just looking for video of certain areas of the new CR-V, let me know specific and I will post.
@@zoomgas2803 can you show me videos on
1. Hidden Features of Honda CRV
2. Can you able to add fog lights in that model
3. Boot Liner which are you using or parcel tray...
Thanks in advance
can this also work for other types of crvs for example like a 2017 crv?
The 2017 has 2 smaller ‘meep meep’ horns and they can also be upgraded to the snail style horns. See my video on my 2022 Civic, as that is similar to what you will find in late model CRV, Accords, etc. thanks for watching! ua-cam.com/video/8oDg2iElTMw/v-deo.html
Also you didn't post the link for the 6" of 18 Gauge insulated copper stranded wire (2) and
1/4" female quick connects
Can you post the link please?
Can you post another link for the Harness mating connector because the other one is out of stock.
Is there a space on the other side of the bay to install the second horn on the other side?
There is space but the wire harnesses I have linked in the description would not be long enough to reach to that side. So you would need to splice extensions on to make that work, which is possible. Thanks for watching.
Why don’t you replace the old horn with the new one? What’s the benefit of keeping both? Thanks
So the horn they provide is just a high tone, so you add a low tone to it and that gives you the strong dual tone sound. Thanks for watching!
I have the same car I want the same setup you got for your horn

Where do you apply the dieletric grease?
On all the electrical connectors, usually applying to the male terminal works the best. Thanks for watching!
Do you have another link for horn it’s outta stock

Now that is just the horn, so you will still need the harness.
Also did you put the heat shrink tubing near a flame.
You can use a heat gun or a flame, but just be careful to keep it away using a flame a safe distance. Thanks for watching!
I have CR-V hybrid 2023, when i opened the front cover. I found a small circle thing inplace of the new horn you just installed. Any idea what that might be?
Well that’s very interesting, so does it sound like the meep-meep of prior CR-V’s? Take a picture if you could. So then you can just buy the double horn kit along with the other parts I have listed to upgrade.
@@zoomgas2803it sounds exactly like yours before you added the high tone, meep meep lol (i even feel ashamed of hoking at someone in mine brand new 2023 CR-V) where can I find double horn kit?
@@javedamin I think it varies by trim level as I had the circular sensor there also. If you look at other side of the car there's already a tapped grommet you can use to attach the new horn. If you purchase the horn from Amazon the supplied screw even fits.
@@Emmo213 the question is.. will the harness be long enough so that it would extend to the other side of the car? Can you add a picture if you have done this before?
How can you put dual horn on a single horn wiring and relay????
Utilizing the wire harness shown in the video and listed in the description enables the second horn. Thanks for watching!
@@zoomgas2803 I don't think so you understand what I'm trying to say the dual horn system will have different relay..
Why would Honda put such a weak horn in? Also they have gotten cheap and I see that they are charging extra for a cargo cover now.
They have been very consistent with their horns forever…but it gives folks like us a chance to upgrade them :)
I noticed they got cheap and cut corners all over. Paid for ex-l trim expecting leather seats, but they put carpet fabric on the sides of the driver and passenger seats instead of wrapping the leather down both the sides!
Did you use the dielectric grease.
Yes, I put it on all connectors as it’s just a good practice anytime your making connections, especially under the hood. Thanks for watching!
Do you mean the wires for the horn as the connector? Also did you also put the electrical tape on the connectors?
Also did you put the dielectric grease on the connectors first and then the electrical tape?
@@TheHondaGuy10 any place you have electrical connections under the hood, dielectric grease protects against corrosion. Thanks for watching!
@@zoomgas2803 How did you trim the ends off and strip them. The horn you bought and with came with a harness. Also what is the 18 gauge wires and 1/4 quick connects for?
The Hybrid has no room for this second horn option :(
Look at Emmo213 comments as he outlines how to use the second horn on other trims. Thanks for watching!
Hi is there an easier way to reach you? I bought the below items and connected it to the second horn you recommended but it still does not work.
X AUTOHAUX Car Speaker Wire Adapter Audio Horn Harness Cable Connector for Honda Civic 2pcs - Comes with 2 - only need one. Says it's for a Civic but works perfect for the CR-V.

Any help would be appreciated.
Grab an ohmmeter and check that you have continuity thru your harness after you have it all connected and that you have a good ground.
The plus has power, but when I connect both horns it does not work. My problem is I dont have a ground. How do I add a ground between both of the connectors?
Thanks for videos like this, you made our lives much easier!!
