I am anthurium fan too. Thank you very much Anna for the tips in growing this plant as I have not been successful so far. My anthurium don’t die but just grow leaves without flowers!
Lovely informative videos as usual. *I had anthuriums a few years ago and they died...i bought a wilted one at Lowes $7 (it had few healthy leaves and blooms but the soil was bone dry) I decided to grow it in water Especially because it was dry for maybe a long time, i got as much dirt off the roots as possible, then placed it in water with peroxide for hours, switched it to plain water for a few days and then changed the water (cause there was little soil on the roots) it's been 3 months and it's Beautiful now, gonna get purchase another and do Likewise....am also growing a "Peace lily" i water because it was struggling in the soil, it came back from a 2 inch bunch of wilted sticks to a BEAUTIFUL LUSH GREEN PLANT....God's creations are truly AMAZING!! 🙏💖🤗
Thank you so much for a nice comment and sharing your experience. I am thinking to try growing one in water too. It will be easier with watering, when I am on holiday. :)
I bought a red and white anthurium and they are doing well, but the white flower has turned light green. Still seems healthy, but I’m wondering maybe too much light? They are next to a northeast window and near a grow light. Moisture in the soil and humidity is good.
Hi. I have been growing an anthurium in the same pot for about 4 years. This plant used to flower in my old house where it lived in a window that was north facing with little to no direct sun. It has grown quite a bit and has not bloomed in my new home. It probably needs a larger pot. However, I don't really want to repot it because it would require too large a pot. Is there a safe method for cutting away stems/bundles of the plant and then to repot the plant into the same pot? Any guidance you can offer would be great. Thank you.
My anthurium has lots of leaves now and the stem cannot support the plant. So the plant is totally wilted. When I repot should I plant it deeper in the soil and bury some of the buds on the stem?
I have had this plant for 2 weeks and it's has had lots of new leaf growth but there is a flower that has not unfurled in the last 2 weeks. There's pretty much been no change. Is this normal? Does it normally take a while to unfurl?
Hi. Yes, it can happen. Putting it in a bright and warm place, may help to speed up the process. However, if it grows leaves normally, then the flower will also open up in its time. The flowers stay for a couple of months. :)
Hi, they don't need much fertilizer, but for blooming, you can use any fertilizer with a higher phosphorus number (the middle number) once every 3-4 months only in spring and summer
There are videos here on youtube showing these plants bare rooted being grown in water containers so you might be ok, I'd be interested to see how you get on, it might be an idea for mine also!
Do you fertilize it or have you repotted it into fresh soil? Also, bright light is very important for flowering. If it's in semi-shade, it may not bloom

Hello I have a question what soil do you repot your Anthurium with? Also the leaves keep turning brown my Anthurium is in Coconut Husk.Thank you
Hi Sylvie, I grow my anthuriums in soil+perlite+bark+leca (clay pebbles). They need fluffy and chunky soil
My favorite plant. Low maintenance 😊
Yes, absolutely. Mine blooms over a year now
I have bought my first anthurium one month ago. Its very beautiful. Thanks for the advices.
Oh, nice. Which colour? They bloom for so long!

Hello Mam?
What is the correct medium or soil in growing? Thank you.
Can you tell me how often to change the water if I’m growing them in water?
Which fertiliser did you use for the anthurium to stimulate the blooming?

What kind of soil is good for anthurium?
Of course, which plant likes to be over or under water! Its requirements are the ones that any shade plants need.

Can it grow in water?
Yes, it can, but it will not be thriving :)
What soil is anthurium planted in?
It's potting soil, coco coir, expanded clay and perlite. But you can also add bark
over watering is bad? I'm thinking of putting them in an aquarium.
I'm not sure if these plants can survive in an aquarium

My anthurium leaves turned to Grey color? Why?
Is it grey like a powder? If yes, it may be a fungus
@@AnnasViolets Yes it's, so, what is the solution, what should I do?
@@goodmanmr1815 You can use some chemicals, ask in the local stores or look here: www.amazon.com/shop/annasviolets

Can we keep them in electric light instead of sunlight?

Maybe anthurium are a bit more sensitive to some of these points but these are the mistakes made for most tropical plants not very useful information.
