    Heroin skateboards make a wide board with a short wheelbase you should try one they are fun. I ride the 8.475 x 31.8 with a 14” wheel base works good for everything even transition

    I personally like a 14.5 for the delayed response and not having to be as precise with the timing. Im about the same height as you and it just feels right.

    Chocolate and Girl makes a 9.1 i think with 13.8 or something like that, their "couch" and "loveseat" shapes, the couch is the wider one. Cant remember the specifics though

    The dlx true mold i have (first one ever) has a 14” and is just over 31” and it feels so stubby. I normally ride a 32” 14.25. So far im liking it. Might grab the deck your skating also

    haha thanks for the review! I'm like 5'7, with size 8 shoe and I use the 8.5 heroin twin, that has a 14 inch wheel base. bigger board helps land and makes me more brave hahaha.

    U ever try redrilling a wheelbase before?
    I redrill the tail back to 13.8 and then skate the board backwards as if the tail was my nose. I skate logo decks like baker or real so it doesnt look upsidedown

    I've been drilling my own "tru fit" boards, screwed up the first couple though😅
    feels comfortable like the 7.75s I was on for decades(I didn't get taller) some boards I only do the back and it evens out like a symmetrical!
    I recommend it for old heads who are get'n back into things. lowers the kicks and is easier to pop.
    🙂

    Aight Spencer, as a 48 year old coming back to skateboarding after 30 years off and rode 15 and+ wb, do you think I would get more pop for Ollies on a shorter wb? Or is it more of a trial and error deal depending on the individual? Thanks homie, keep shreddin'!

    • @fernandoreyes680
      @fernandoreyes680 2 місяці тому +1

      shorter wheelbase, long kicks or flatter board will make popping ollies a lot easier. however, jumping to a small wheelbase might make you feel unstable, considering you're coming back to skating. I'd recommend you keep a similar wheelbase from the one you've been riding, but try to find a board with longer and flatter kicks

    I can see the advantages of a shorter wheel base. Nice to not have to move your feet around so much, and be able to stay in the pockets more easily. Fast pop too- thats a super short one- seems to work okY. How tall are you?

      @@spencernuzzi I’ve been thinking that my past favorite boards might have had a little shorter wheelbase than what’s standard now.
      I think my 8.5 is 14.5, and it does feel a little long for my flick. I’m like 6’2 though. But maybe it comes down to how you like to skate more than actually height?…
      I’m curious to try some shorter wheelbases myself.

      @@spencernuzzi oh sick fingerboards by the way- on that other video.
      I’m starting a fingerboard company now.
      It’s super fun to create them- and skate them.
      Maybe I can send you a few to try out.
      I’m using some of my boat building techniques, like epoxy resins and different wood varieties.

    Shorter wb is not a benefit for transition

    • @fernandoreyes680
      @fernandoreyes680 2 місяці тому +2

      it can be depending on how big the transition is. but it can work because you can have your trucks a bit tighter but still have really sharp turns on corners
