I suppose complete film "sets" like that are becoming rarer since there is so much CGI now but it was looking a little tired and I may have gotten a little annoyed at the hard selling, even though I was and still am a Star Wars Fan. I like long drives though but the oasis seemed more interesting as a destination.
❤️❤️❤️ I was in grade school the year the first Star Wars movie was released, went to see it with my friends/neighbors, and honestly couldn't follow it at all; the plot was lost on me but the effects were cool. I went back and watched all of them a few years ago as an adult, and finally got it; I appreciate the movies but I'm not a fanatic, but I loved this video. Camel Crossing!!!😂 So cute.
Was down that way a few days ago - I'd massively, massively recommend heading into the Sahara for overnight camping with a local guide to anyone spending time down there. Easily the part that made the bus journey from Tunis worth it. Also - just in case it helps anyone out, the Tozeur train station was abandoned years ago, if taking public transport to get there, take the bus.

I am from the 1970's Star Wars era generation and it was fascinating to hear from Dan that some of the filiming was done in southern Tunisia. It certainly fits. Learned something today!
Very happy that you visited my country 🇹🇳🇹🇳❤️❤️❤️ Come back again to see Tabarka,Bizerte,Sousse,El Jam where we have a beautiful coliseum.Happy you liked the food 😍
I may not be Dan whom you were addressing, but I visited your country back in 2018. Absolutely loved and wish I had known then what I do now having watched the video

Love this video. OMG, what a beautiful country. Star Wars set was amazing to see! Love you both🥰 Safe travels and great vibes coming from the United States!
Hey Boys - That was AWESOME, I'm not just a travel buff, but, like Dan a huge "Star Wars" fan. Your visit to the set brought back memories of school holidays 1976. We were already in Egypt & my father got a message from his friend Alec Guinness, whom he'd met whilst advising on "Lawrence of Arabia" in the early 60s! So that was how my whole family made our way to Tunisia for the first time & got to meet Mr Guinness, a very young Mark Hamil,George Lucus & a group of people who are now household names! Ironically at the time Alec Guinness in particular, along with others were very dubious that this strange film was ever going to go anywhere😅😅😅 Amazing it's still there; it looks so shabby & deserted,in those days it was like a mini burning man - which I discovered much latter! As usual a superbly produced & edited vid,as always a joy to be a fly on the wall as you two are nearly at your 100th country. First Class entertainment as always, thank you both for sharing ,looking forward to next part as it looks like we might be seeing some of the amazing ruins. Very best wishes to you&yours💥👊👏👏👏💙💙👌👋⭐'s💯✌
Wow. Just wow. I was in Tunisia back in 2018... I didn't even know the Chabika Oasis and town even existed. Went to Al Dougga (Ancient Roman Historical Site) - As well as El Jem and the old Medina of Sousse. Don't regret anything I experienced on the trip obviously, but I wish I had more time I suppose is all I can say.
❤❤❤ i like it the video the hotel annatara in the middle of the sahara is fabulouse. There is another place in gafsa near to tozeur it is lovely there is place montain view near to city omlares we called sidi aboudihf there lovely place likz tamerza
You know what’s hilarious 😂 I’m always driving back and forth between tozeur and tunis and I always see the " pay attention of camels" signs but I’ve never came across a single camel and you guys had an entire tribe welcoming you 😂
I am so happy to watch these jems of my beautiful country through tourists' lenses. I am grateful to both of you for promoting this part of Tunisia since everyone is more keen to visit the beachs, bars and nightlife. Thank you and i love your content. Good luck on your next adventures.
You should go visit Sousse next, their tourist port, Kantaoui and Medina are really beautiful. Also the old Amazigh town Takrouna, I recommend it so much.
Nice to read, we're gonna visit sousse this friday! Im very excited and I know your comment is a few months old but just wanted to let you know we'll be checking these places out! If you read this, any other tips are very welcome
Welcome to Tunisia💟 I would have recommended you to visit Tozeur by plane from Carthage international airport to Tozeur Nefta airport to avoid driving for long hours it's bit exhausting especially if you 're not used too( it takes only one hour 10 mnts through intern flight) ,anyways you are always welcome we cherish your great content about our country 😍❤👌🏻🇹🇳
Hi guys. I am going to Tunisia in Feb 2024. Can u access Mos Espa set with just a car? Do i need a 4 wheel drive? Was afraid of getting stuck in a sand dune or something lol
My bf and I are goijng to drive from Sousse to Tunisia, how is the road trip is it interesting are there many checkpoints? Are there many service area or rest area in along the way?
@@noel4137 Nobody will bother you as long as you dont display any intimacy in public. Thats frowned upon in islamic countries , not only for gay couples but in general.
You won't face any issues getting a king sized bed in a hotel or anything like that. Just avoid PDA (also applies to straight couples) and never explicitly state your orientation especially to random strangers or police. Feel free to visit any queer events / film festivals if your visit coincides with them. Refer to Mawjoudin and other associations for the schedules.

It’s because I’m secretly one( you know what I’m talking about) and I’m keeping it a secret in Tunisia
Thank you et merciii for watching😍 Would you want to visit the Star Wars set or do you think it seems overrated?😉
It is really overrated. You guys were so patient driving there to find basically nothing. I far preferred your visit to the beautiful oasis.
