As a Brit seeing that engine where it is now is sad, it should be in the skies where it belongs and is meant to be. That engine probably was in the Battle of Britain at some point and may of contributed to the defeat of the Nazi menace that brought Europe to its knees. It’s misfiring on number 2, 8 and 6 cylinders as well, more than likely from debris sucked into the intakes. Really sad to see……what a shame destroying such an iconic engine like that all in the name of fun. It deserves to be looked after and used but not abused like that but in a British or American War Bird from WW2. I’m going in the corner to pout.
@@Toxic2T yes but engines and spares are always in desperate need for those planes that are still flyable and those that are being restored to fly once again. Regardless I’d still have it as a monument to the glory of the defeat of the Nazis. It’s the engine that won the war ffs it deserves our respect and admiration for generations to come not abuse. Still voted the best sounding engine ever that counts for something too lol. I’ll never forget 3 spitfires buzzing us in Richmond in the 90s and I could feel the concussion of the engine sound in my chest as they flew very low over or heads. Magnificent. 😉
are you sure that's a griffon? If it is, it seems quite modified: aspiration ducts on every cylinder make me think they removed supercharger and original carburetor. Plus, it seems it has belt/pulleys for valves actuation (seeing it from the front) while original Griffons actuated their valves by a shaft and gears. Also the heads seem not original.
It’s missing a few cylinders maybe from the stones sucked in by the intake ...
All that gravel going into the engine...what a shame

Not enough airframes around

Amazing!!
Yep, force and flames!
How did they get the weight down to fit in the mini class?
I don't know. Try to contact the crew to FB, you can find the link on my video 👍

Im thinking it's a Meteor out of a tank or boat.
Correction: go to the FB page....guess it's a highly modded Griffon.
am I missing something or this a rr meteor? isnt the griffon supercharged ?
ferrarikingdom griffons and merlins were supercharged, so this probably is a meteor.
it would make sense. the griffon should make more like 2500hp, not 1600hp. like thats almost 1k hp difference.
Vampire
i cant take the shakeyness of the carbs, are they goddamn loose ? omg it pisses me off
Seems to not have high RPM
Yes, correct. Max power is at 3.000 rpm
Am I. The only one that lower reving engines sound better?
No, you are not the only one. I really like this tractor because the maximum power is developed at just 3,000 rpm 😅
Italiansupercarvideo is methanol Clean?
@@jaarryifleshblood315 Yes
Italiansupercarvideo the griffon is my most favorite wwll engine
@@jaarryifleshblood315 I can understand you It's a fantastic engine👍
a me i trattori della categoria 950kg ricordano i tosaerba

The merlin and griffon were designed for airplaines not for pulling ! Aircraft only boys...
well, it's nice to know that with the necessary changes can also be used in other areas😉
Ben Kool it also use in tank ( centurion tank, both of them)
coupled with proper transmissions, they could 😁 By the way that one is not a 100% original griffon.
Un v12 Rolls-Royce Griffon bien régler ne fait pas de flamme au ralenti. Que des petites flammèche de 3 cm environ sur toutes les sorties.

What a waste of a Griffon engine...
Sad it’s not in a supermarine flying around
Well, personally I'm happy to see it on this tractor 😉
