Yoooooo! This is the exact story with the '88 I just picked up. 7 years sitting, has run perfectly prior. Changed the rusted-to-bits fuel pump and mine starts smooth, but thermostat is definitely gone so next to-do this week is clean up the cooling system and brakes while I'm at it.
