Having an Ag background and actually going to a sheep farm, I was amazed by this event. I heard about it on NPR and I came straight to UA-cam. BTW, I enjoy watching sheep shearing videos.
Maybe they should have sent a reporter who knew even a single iota about the process. His calling shearing "shaving" is utterly cringeworthy. "What is that brushing process called?" You'd think he would have prepped himself by spending 5 minutes on the internet.
Ikr, it sounds like he couldn't care less and is getting paid minimum wage! "It's a two and a half hour long shawl competition... So they're gonna take that, and make a shawl!" 😂
Thank you, Tyler! I just heard of competitions like these today and was thrilled to see a longform video of one! These teams are all so skilled.
This is fantastic- God bless all these women and that man that are keeping the heritage skills alive. Be sure to teach a child
Thank you for posting, it’s special to see!

I came from NPR as well!
Thank you for sharing.....always wanted to watch it but there is always so much to see. 👍 Great job of filming.
Question… Isn’t that wool full of lanolin, since it has not been processed or washed?
Yeah probably, but it doesn't impact the usability of the fibers, just makes allergies way worse
