80/20 can be used anywhere! This Xtreme DIY video shows how to build your own 80/20 Mobile Folding Worktable. This table is both sleek looking, completely customizable, and space saving. Giving you an on-demand work surface when and where you need it. For more information, or if you want to design and build your own Worktable, please visit 8020.net/xdiy1706
That's right Andrew! This is my $3000 table thingy Andrew. That's right Andrew.
If he says “That’s right Andrew” one more time I’m going to scream.
That's right Andy
That's right Andrew!!!!
So happy i'm not the only one :)
LOL
This table is $1,500. I downloaded the bill of materials from the 80/20 website.
I was curious, thanks for posting!
Jesus Christ! No wonder they call it extreme DIY LOL 😢
"That's right Andrew"
Dang, just get some lumber and hinges from home depot and you can make effectively the same thing. It just won't be as customizable.
You should swing the peg board out and add shelves that slide out on both ends to gain access to the space underneath easier. You'll lose a bit of space underneath but it sure beats the annoying task of crawling under the table to get to items in the middle.
Excellent suggestion!
cool! what bout the items/tools hanging on the pegboards? Wouldn't they fall off if the pegboard swung up?
This is a beautiful table, elegant and functional. I like the Marine Starboard HDPE as well, lovely finish. I wonder if that scratches easily on surface? Only issue really is price. So pricey to build with this material. Why does it cost $30 each for a pivot or $15 for a hinge?
Please show the hardware assembly in more detail when doing these videos. I wanted to see how the pivot joints slid into the slots and how that worked. Thanks for a clear demo!
One can only assume that both Phil and Andrew were discovered by Hollywood producers shortly after this was published. They return to Ohio every Christmas to reconnect with their old friends and family, with conversation constantly turning to that stilly "erector set" that propelled them to fame. Andrew's California license plate is "PIVOTNUB".
That's right Andrew.
Thanx men, make it a great day
Thanks, you too!
Im looking to build a dj table with this material can wait to have it finish
how to you prevent accidentally knocking one of the feet off the ground?
I LOVE IT thank you for the video.
Drinking game. Take a drink every time they say each others name.
Sounds nice, but how many pounds can those end tables hold, and can you mount a removable metal vice to the ends or anywhere on the table?
Great ideas, but why don't you show it in more detail hove the panel is cut and in detail how the hardware look like. Great ideas, but not so detailed
We are glad to hear that you like the design! As with all of our Xtreme DIY projects, this video is meant to be a starting point for your own custom design. If you want more detail on the exact machining services were used on the panels, or what hardware was used, you can download the Bill of Materials for free at; 8020.net/xdiy1706
Got a question hopefully you can help me. I am lookingfor a corner bracket to attach to 3 points. If using 30/60 t-track rails and possibly 40/40 legs. The corner bracket must attach to all 3 pieces without blocking the t-tracks from being access (front and top only to be free from blockage). Not sure if you are familiar with Festool MFT3 table but something like their corner aluminum bracket.
We don't have a standard bracket that would do exactly what you have referenced. If you're not planning on removing the table legs, we have a standard machining service that removes a small section of the T-slot “lips,” allowing access to the T-slots even if the ends of the bars are captured. The benefit of this solution is that you are not hindered or limited to a particular fastening method and you can insert the service anywhere along the length of the bar.
Here is more information on our milling service: catalogs.8020.net/80-20-Inc-Catalog-23/877/
The only downside is crawling around on the ground to access the storage underneath.
It looks like the pivot arms for the legs are free to move past 90 degrees. I'm looking for a pivot that will self-lock at a certain angle, like 90 degrees or 180 degrees. Do you have anything like that available? My goal is to essentially have one profile fold down to a smaller size, and have the legs coming off that profile also fold from a locked 90 degree angle, back flush into the main profile. Thanks!!
If I understand your final design, we might have two options. Option 1: The use the Right Angle pivots catalogs.8020.net/80-20-Catalog-24/6-70/ and catalogs.8020.net/80-20-Catalog-24/6-72/ , they have a flat side on the pivot nub that will block/stop the attached extrusion from traveling past 90deg. These are free pivoting and do not have any type of locks. Option 2: Use any of the variety of Left and Right handed pivot bracket assemblies. These are available in 0-90 deg and 0-180 deg options. The advantage of these is that they have brake handles incorporated into the design catalogs.8020.net/80-20-Catalog-24/6-78/ and catalogs.8020.net/80-20-Catalog-24/6-82/ and catalogs.8020.net/80-20-Catalog-24/6-88/
@@8020llc Thanks for the reply! I'm hoping to find a way for the pivot to securely lock into 90deg (and 180 degrees on the other piece) without the use of a brake handle (in an effort to make a lower profile design with easier assembly). Appreciate the help though - I'll figure something out!
i think they should product cheaper version series 5 maybe XD
How much are the materials to build this folding worktable?
Hi, Jeff - thank you for reaching out! You can download the Bill of Materials here: 8020.net/xdiy1706
What is the max weight limit for the table
Hi, Sam! Thank you for your question about the worktable. The maximum weight capacity for each shelf is 100 pounds. Each leaf extension has a weight capacity of 150 pounds.
How much would this table cost me to build
Hi, Mike! You can find the bill of materials for this build on our website: 8020.net/xdiy1706
I'm just guessin' but I think Andrew is the owner's son.
How much weight can that table hold?
Great question Ed! The maximum weight capacity for each shelf of the center unit is 100 pounds, and the maximum capacity for per leaf extension is 150 pounds. As always, the project can be customized to suit your needs.
It looks little fragile in 2020 profile, but then again airplanes are made from aluminium too. Nevertheless I like the idea and will make one for sure but then from 4040 profile. Will choose to skip one table side for easy acces to the storage. Mat consider putting in drawers with a Sortimo system
How Much It´s cost a project like that?
The final price for this project can be found in the Bill of Materials, which can be downloaded here: 8020.net/xdiy1706 Keep in mind that the cost for a project depends on your specifications. Choices like color, size, panel material, and caster type will all affect the final price. However, we do offer free design assistance and would be more than happy to design and quote a project for you!
@8020inc the download button on the site doesn't work
Alex, the downloads seem to be working fine on our end. If you are still having trouble, could you please contact us at info@8020inc.com with more information?
So you have to crawl under the table to access the storage? I’ll pass.
This is just one way to design a folding table when working with limited space. The design is fully customizable, and we'd love to hear your ideas that make a folding worktable work for you, Brian!
To the person that directed this style of instructional video: homie do you hate your audience or something. Not only can I not see the complete assembly from A to Z but the cringey back and fourth acting is so painful to watch.
These are the cheesiest videos ever
