This could be the last interview with NFL great Junior Seau. Two days before he was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound, Seau played in a charity golf tournament.
Rest easy man. Forever a childhood hero- a superhero in my eyes haha. Such a kind man who did nothing but support and spread happiness in his community.

Many people never show the "classic" signs of pending suicide. True in my own family. Sad so very sad. Lives that hold such promise yet there are deep deep issues that even those close to those with suicide on the mind could never know. This young man may well have suffered from head injuries. So very sad....my sympathies with his fans, friends and family.
Please seek help if you are concerned about having CTE. The medical community is better understanding the implications of head trauma. Suicide isn't the answer. I started my own journey after Jr's suicide. Please start your own and seek help and support... Sam
Headaches, memory issues, anger, relationship problems, suicidal thoughts can all be attributed to the need to seek help. Please don't quit before starting your journey to your own support.

My sport is Road cycling, we have a helmet too and we do impact ground once a while, though most of the time helmet didn't hit anything. The NFL seems quite lagging in helmet design, the finding of CTE came to NFL around the year 2002 while the newly updated helmet didn't come to live till 2017. That is enough to raise a young boy into a college team. Before 2014, cycling helmet are usually with just one single structure, but with concussion remains possible even without collapsing structures of the helmets continues, MIPS technology eventually come to play at 2016 and that reduced the risk of injury of similar kind from then. No sports was invented to hurt people, but if not done correctly or in contact sports the protection gear was designed up to date it will certainly injury players and if worse kill them eventually.

Chargers fan since I was 10. Seau and Fouts were my favorites.
His father never showed him any love but had no issue living off of him. Family bled him dry, NFL killed him.
Poor man, may God rest his soul.
@Adolf Hitler Who's with Satan. Jr or his father ?
Rip
Imagine blaming others for grown adult’s decisions
Don’t disrespect Junior.

R.I.P Junior from a 49ers fan. I’m here after watching Aaron Hernandez on Netflix and watching the movie Concussion.
Watch Seau
What a great dude. Rest in Peace Junior.
I really wish he was still here with us. He was a very great person. I am very sad right now. ;(

Thanks for sharing this with us.

Very handsome man. R.i.p my his spirit be with god.
Loved Seau, and this is so very, very sad. BUT, I don't believe that "average lifespan of 54 years" stat AT ALL. No way.
Fact of the matter he was the best Charger in the teams history not LT.
Depression is real folks
But...SO is CTE.
It took the movie "Concussion" to Finally bring it to the public Consciousness.
Pure Oceanside energy. Rip

Helmets don't stop from your brain from shaking or moving inside your skull. They only protect against skull fractures or subdural hematomas.
