There is one thing that I learnt recently that Bhagavad Gita Chapter 13 4 Verse doesn’t preach caste based on birth . It preaches based on Guna and Karma.

@@Tarun4485 only if u are genuine and not very rigid that whatever i say u are gonna oppose then i will suggest to watch project shivoham documentry on caste system , see initially it was "class system" which btw exists in every part of world i.e english surnames like goldsmith , blacksmith , williamson all suggest "class system" , now what happens is due to lack of good systems child adopts profession of his father which he may/may not be suitable , so now class system becomes "hereditery" and hence it "became caste system" , also there's a shloka in skanda purana saying "janmana jayate shudra " which means by birth everyone is shudra i.e not very skilled but if one's studies/does sports/learns business then he can be brahmin, kshatriya , vaishya , if remain unskilled then shudra

I didn't know or care about the caste of my friends until class 12th.
I still don't but I've seen a very evident divide among the people of my batch over caste and the basis of it is solely reservation because the deserving students didn't get into their choice of universities whereas the one with considerably lower marks could.
And all of the their parents have a decent earning neither too rich nor too poor.
