In my opinion, the Definitive Edition of GTA III completely disrupts the atmosphere of the original game. The biggest issue I have with the remaster is how overly clean the textures feel, particularly on the roads and sidewalks. The low-resolution textures of the PS2 version, combined with its grittier, grey-toned color palette, gave the original GTA III a distinctive charm that perfectly matched its dark and gritty world. What baffles me is that Liberty City Stories received a remaster for mobile with entirely new textures for Liberty City. I can't understand why Rockstar didn’t incorporate those textures instead of relying on Grove Street Games’ poorly implemented AI upscaled textures. Another issue I have is with the mini-map design. The gold ring around the mini-map feels off-putting and out of place in GTA III it dosn't work nearly as well as the pink one around the radar in Vice City. Rockstar should consider adding a feature in a future patch to restore the black ring from the original game in the settings, which felt more cohesive with the overall aesthetic. Additionally, they should give players the option to disable the new map and replace it with the classic orange map. The new map design detracts from the original atmosphere and feels too modern for the game's retro vibe. The character models, while not inherently bad, also feel like they need a texture overhaul to better align with the game's tone. GTA III can still look great with its classic lighting, but the environmental textures, UI design, and overall presentation need significant tweaking to truly recapture the essence of the original.
I have a hard time believing you recorded that directly from the PS2 Slim. There's absolutely no way PS2 can render that clearly. You are running GTA3 on a PS2 emulator.
I was thinking the same. Way too crisp and clean for PS2. Too high resolution. But maybe he's using a digital upscaler like the FrameMeister or something like that.
2:54 in defective edition the early 2000's feel and atmosphere is missing 3:40 in all 3 games water look exactly same in defective garabage edition while in the original all 3 games have their unique color of water, in gta 3 it's black because of oil pollution, in vice city it's light blue and in san andreas it's dark blue or closer to green I guess
This isn't the PS2 version though - you're obviously playing on an emulator and the graphics are way more upscaled than how the game plays straight on a console. The best way in modern times to experience this game is for people that bought the originals when they were still available in the PS4 store. I have both the Definitive and original PS2 version on my PS5 like that and the original PS2 version (without any upscaling and whatnot, it looks dark and grim as hell)
I do really like claudes de model but he just doesn't really look like claude much (as in from the face) I think if the skin was more pale and if they made the beard stubble look more real and lighter then he has a better chance at looking more like claude But the other issue with him is the one facial expression makes him look od. Kinda wished they update it so im certain animations when hes hurt, fighting or shooting he has the xbox angry face
The PS2 version looks better in some ways and the definitive looks better in other ways. I like the gritty and more blurry feel of the PS2 version instead of all the crisp The Simpsons Hit N Run graphics.
In my opinion, the Definitive Trilogy is looking better than ever with the updates and improvements it's been receiving. The original is good for nostalgia, but I'm more in love with the Definitive Trilogy.

0:26 that guy walkin so zesty

Yes, Indeed. PS2 version is blurry as hell

He's probably using an HDMI adapter.
Either that or possibly the ps2 classic ps4 version m
PS2 has that haunted feeling, as If you're in a hellhole, alone and forsaken
And the definitive is simpsons hit and run.
Finally the video everyone was waiting for.
4:08 What's going on with the lady's white bag in "Definitive" Edition version?
She's clenching the bag handle inbetween her butt cheeks as she walks.
PS2 is the superior version of not only gta 3 but of vice city and san andreas also
The streets are still too clean in the definitive edition compared to the original version since there’s no litter flying on the ground.
2:54 in defective edition the early 2000's feel and atmosphere is missing

wdym the developers fixed that issue a few days ago
@erhdle yes fixed that issue with same water color for all 3 games
"Early 2000s feel" ?!?
@@dwartbg1 yeah, gta 3 released in 2001 so it was early 2000's ain't it?
Am I the only one who sometimes gets a black screen instead of cut scenes in the new update?

They both look good.
PS2 ☺️
1:23 Missing night time lighting still an issue?? Lol, PS2 literally having effects "Definitive" doesn't have.

Looks more like Liberty City Stories in the day time than 3.
Definitive Claude looks like a punk butch that could easily be bested
I miss that newspapers on the streets(()
Yes :(
any version of the original GTA 3 > "Definitive" edition
Skies need to be grayer and add wind
i play at locked 40fps on pc its looking good now everything
Bro nice music
The PS2 visuals looks way better.
I think classic lighting works not so good with GTA 3.
It's a shame, on the new version the streets are too clean unlike the PS2 version
In my opinion, the Definitive Trilogy is looking better than ever with the updates and improvements it's been receiving.
The original is good for nostalgia, but I'm more in love with the Definitive Trilogy.
There’s still a lot of thing to get fix
The definitive looks better but i wish they could fix the far away cam
meh..... dosent like the clean look. the update still dident fixed it. VC and SA looks good. but GTA 3 suppose to have that greyish wintery vibe to it
clearly not a real PS2 hardware footage, probably PCSX2
Definitive needs the loose trash blowing around
not same weather, not a fair comparison
Original > Simpsons Hit And Run
Definitive Edition looks better bc the OG one is bad and outdated plus It aged bad.
It was 2001. The PS3 wasn't made yet. You dumb or something?
Nice try Rockstar
Better set up an emulator and play the originals instead of this garbage
or play the originals with mods
@michaelprox1172 yeah
The definitive edition is way too bright
definitive edition better, in the original you cant set a waypoint on the map which is a big nono
Skill issue
you cant even look around with your camera
There is a mod for that for the original
@@worstperson2ask skill issue
