TribalDIDs = Indigenous Sovereignty

This Māori Identity project was undertaken by members of the Digital Aotearoa Collective, built on Cardano's Atala Prism / Identus technology, and funded by Project Catalyst.
Problem: Tribal identity systems, in place for millennia, are not yet recognised by states/institutions creating national DIDs, excluding Indigenous population’s pre-colonial norms, rules, rights & sovereignty
Solution: Using AtalaPrism SDK, integrate DID wallet features into Āhau, the FOSS tribal registry DApp made for, by, and with Maori Indigenous people of Aotearoa (New Zealand) to enable the culturally appropriate issuance of DIDs & verifiable credentials
