I feel like most people that say that they don't like Wrecking Ball just don't like the person that sings it and that ruins the song for them. Wrecking Ball is an amazingly beautiful song. Sure it has a weird video but the lyrics are still hard-hitting and, at times, pretty deep. This guy definitely nailed it.

In my opinion, you shine the most on the songs that you add your own flavor to. I see them as less of a cover (in that you are not trying to imitate someone else's performance), and more of a reinterpretation or an homage. It is in those performances that the passion that you have for music and the emotion that the lyrics stir within you seem to be the most evident, and the power in your voice tears its way out of your soul...to me, at least.
I know that there's always a risk in choosing to vary from the original established version of a song, especially those that already have a place in the hearts of the fans, and that sometimes scares artists away from doing so. However, there are those in the world with the talent and artistic insight to be able to make a song their own, while still maintaining the essence of what made it resonate with people in the first place. You are one of those few singers, my friend.
