Francis, your enthusiasm and love of this hobby is always contagious, it's one of the reasons I continue to come back. That and the wealth of information you always provide us, which is always useful and most definitely helpful.
Finally! Pre installed led lights and inner fenders, basically these two things I always buy first. Great job RC4WD. Thanks Francis for the thorough walkthrough as always! Mabuhay!
on my TF2 I took out the last leaf spring but put it back in again, and removed the shock coils instead. You have to break in those leafs before you start reaping the rewards. Also, to be true scale, the front shackles need to be reversed so the connection at the front is a fixed pin. A&M Garage sells the reversal kit... I just wish you could change the batteries by opening the hood. Taking the body off is a hassle every time you need to change the battery.
Such a cool looking truck. My dad had a Scottsdale when i was kid. It was a dark forest green. It was not lifted but had 33's, I called it Godzilla. I loved that truck!!!!🤘🤘🤘
Ihave a simuler rc4wd truck and I put long set screw to hold body on . this way you do not have to screw on or off to remove the body with the same size as a screw ...just pull the side of the body and slip the body over the long set screws!
The chevy squarebody generation was from 1973-1988 for all squarebodies then 1988-1991 the 1 ton trucks and 3/4 ton suburban and k5 were still made as squarebody. The 1990s models are known as obs (old body style)
How hot Did the motor get running 3s? There only rated for 2s according to there info on there motor specs Ive fried a few on 3s. Before looking up there motor specs Seeing what there rated at keep doing what your doing. Love watching what you put out
Love your videos , great to watch how excited you get about new products, hopefully I will be able to get one when they are released, thank you for the video , keep up the good work
Great looking truck might have to add this to my RC4WD stable. Nice run and location, still a little stiff but will get better when the springs get broken-in ( more flex and travel). Thanks
It's so messed up that RC cars are banned in certain walkways I don't know if that's the correct way to say it but I know what I'm trying to say I get Nitro I even get not being able to use Basher but Crawlers I don't know just seems ridiculous other than that it is a gem of an area and what a beautiful truck not to mention great review again LOL keep up the good work keep that location hidden brother
The rules are 20+ years old and are blanket rules for our county parks. They're more for 50+ mph loud nitro cars playing in picnic areas. In the forest where no one's there, these crawlers make no impact. We only get warned when grumpy rangers spot us in the parking lot. So it's key to keep it in the down low and small groups only.
People just don't understand, or want to understand, the RC hobby. If it interrupts their enjoyment of the outdoors, they want to ban it. They forget that these are public use trails and they should be shared. Everyone has a right to use them (within reason) so, people need to keep an open mind. Just don't be 'that guy', tearing up the trails and driving your nitro - plenty of Karen's out there just waiting for an excuse to ruin our fun and your behavior affects all of us!
No, no, no Francis! It's not the 1980's to the 1990's ..... this body style is from ----> *1973 to 1987* And the chassis is not a C-channel, it's the conventional LWB billet aluminum frame!
@RCReviewChannel yep just the wrong color. They should be more of a yellow color. Just a small complaint though. Overall, I think they did a great job!
They didn’t put LED’s in them in that year Halogen bulbs. I love RC4WD stuff but no matter how hard they try they never get it right lol. No shackle hanger up front either.
Those are from the 70’s only. Went up to 78 then 79 the hood was lowered up to until 86 in carburetor then still same body the 87 came with fuel injection to welcome the change body in 88. For Over $550 it’s UNFAIR to the consumer that RC4WD is using the same cab of the blazer for a truck. If I want a scale truck for that price, I expect exact details. They still using the over size bumpers. I thought RC4WD would be on top of the game. Still is a good looking truck yes but scale all around is not. What would of knock it Out of the park was to bring the next body 79 -86. That would of made sense and even then just by a change of the grill we could have the 87 model. Now that would of brought in more money but worth it. We’re stuck with the same body again!.
Leaf springs are always problematic. Nice not to see all those rods under the car but the response is to violent and needs bigger and slower dampers but the car became too stiff...... Spiral springs are better.
RC4WD is more of parts/upgrades supplier focusing on very scale parts. They have a few RTRs now and this one is good. They're not Vanquish level but their selection is huge.
Very true, although most of their RTRs still use the Yota II style axle (which come with dog bones rather than CVDs) - so it's nice to see the K44s being used here.
@@buysncharge yes, but that costs another $40, plus the K44s have more scale detail to the casings... fwiw. I do think it's a bit cheap of RC4WD to not include the XVDs in their Yota II axles these days, particularly since they are the same price.
@@yodapig just a cheat for that. The cheap knock off Yota2 axles for 40 bucks are the same. But yeah. Then just buy a K44. But if you already have the yota2 or just want one that does. For builds. I like the K44 for the looks
It looks really good. However, the price point of anything RC4WD RTR keeps me away. I can build good looking and way better performing trucks for the same price if not cheaper. That super secret forest location is killer though. It looks a bit like a few of the parks around my area.
I think it’s stupid to drive it through water and rocks like that and tear it up it’s not made for that. It looks like the blue blazer that they sell to me. But I want one ☝️
You're not paying for 'performance', you're paying for scale accuracy... there are loads of other aftermarket parts out there if you want to build a more robust/higher performing crawler - RC4WDs focus has always been scale looks and 'real world' style driving.

I wish we could get an 80's chevy body. The 79 body just keeps getting redone
Right!? I grew up riding in 80s Chevys. I want to recreate my dad's 84 Blazer with the proper grille and hood.
Francis, your enthusiasm and love of this hobby is always contagious, it's one of the reasons I continue to come back. That and the wealth of information you always provide us, which is always useful and most definitely helpful.
Right on. Your kind words are much appreciated.
Finally! Pre installed led lights and inner fenders, basically these two things I always buy first. Great job RC4WD. Thanks Francis for the thorough walkthrough as always! Mabuhay!
I think I need to get one of these..

Great feedback. I may work on that mod since i use tiny 3-cell lipos these days. Maybe I can put it by the hood.

Cool truck , the squarebody never gets old , I’d like to see an 88’-98’ bodystyle , these guys would do an amazing job
For sure! 80s!!!

Great very. Always love the honest and straight forward feedback on each vehicle you do.
RC4WD did it again! Taking more of my money! 😂 I gotta have it

Dude!, I have a 1985 K10, totally need to buy one of these and paint it up to match!
This is off subject, but can you recommend a good engine sound plug'n play unit for the small 1/18 and 1/24 trucks? Thanks, Michael
I like the k44's finally however i wish they would have fixed the bumpers and mirrors. We'll see how the hood fits as well.
How hot Did the motor get running 3s? There only rated for 2s according to there info on there motor specs

Seeing what there rated at keep doing what your doing. Love watching what you put out
Squarebody Chevys were made from 1973 to 1987, some of the suburbans were made in 1988 with a grille to look like the rebodied pickups
I’m waiting till they release the Cheyenne cause that’s better then the Scottsdale brah 👍
it looks super scale, even to the tires!! so awesome
It does! They did well on this.
Love your videos , great to watch how excited you get about new products, hopefully I will be able to get one when they are released, thank you for the video , keep up the good work
What is the better truck for trails and crawling this tuck or the traxxes?
Wish it had a 93 Bronco body.
They made this for me I think I saw it in a dream
Great looking truck might have to add this to my RC4WD stable. Nice run and location, still a little stiff but will get better when the springs get broken-in ( more flex and travel). Thanks
Break in huh? I need to jump it some more!! Maybe fill up that rear bed with rocks.
@@RCReviewChannel That'll do it. Or drive the sh-- out of it. LOL
Do you prefer Granddaddy Purple or God's Gift?
I dig your forest spot.
Also, those mirrors are accurate to the 1:1, they were huge,
Would you call this a good first crawler? I love the mid 70s squarebodies but the trx4 high trail looks ridiculous to me
Got the full scale but I don't even play with it. Maybe if I can hook up a radio control to it. Jk Would like one in white. At any rate, great demo.
I do want to get this. Maybe next year. My only question is: does it come in other colors?
ive been waiting for this body, it only made sense lol, but why didnt they make it on the tf3?

are you running in Alum Rock Park...lived a few miles away growing up looks like a great place to run
Are you running a 3 Cell 7.4 or 11.1 Lipo?
No, no, no Francis!

Wish it came in black 😢
RC4WD is on a roll
Definitely stepping it up.
Nice truck and video review huge mirrows, yes 🤭
Wrong led lights for this truck. Hopefully we can get the body only soon! I want to put this body on a v2c1 gspeed chassis
Too white in tint huh?

To think of all the money I’ve spent on converting my blazer to this 🙃
Are these trucks Lipo ready/compatible?
Yea, definitely!!!!
Not big on scale type trucks, but it does look great.
Sweet I love it, Yep here watching
Thanks for the visit. It was good to film this one.
How tall are the tires

Thanks for watching. This was good to look at and drive.
Great review 👏
I want that body for my Trx4 high trail!!
If you have the k10 or f150, you'll have to shorten the chassis. This is 12.3 wheelbase, same as the 72 k5
Leaf springs are always problematic. Nice not to see all those rods under the car but the response is to violent and needs bigger and slower dampers but the car became too stiff...... Spiral springs are better.
What's the wheelbase length?
12.3"
Love to get me one of these bad boys
A very nice rig
Sweet 1973 to 79 Chevy c10
Sure is!
K10
Are those axles metal?
Yes, metal.
Pot metal
They giving you PR kits now? 😀
Yes, once in a while. Mostly upgrade parts for our projects.
I've always wondered about RCAWD. Are they as legit as Axial/Vanquish?
RC4WD.
RCAWD makes cheap, garbage aftermarket parts
RC4WD is more of parts/upgrades supplier focusing on very scale parts. They have a few RTRs now and this one is good. They're not Vanquish level but their selection is huge.
Rc4wd or RCAWD? Which one are you referring to?
The axles aren’t new, they’ve made those for years
Very true, although most of their RTRs still use the Yota II style axle (which come with dog bones rather than CVDs) - so it's nice to see the K44s being used here.
@jmo2752 add the CVDs to the Yota2 and they're awesome. Same ring and pinion.

Looks like the price on this is better! $549. About the price of an Axial or Traxxas
That body style ran from ‘73 to ‘80.
A nice looking scale replica but typical RC4WD - underwhelming (or maybe it's just the leaf springs?) 🤷🏻♂️

70s-early 80s
It ain’t waterproof I found out the hard way
Mail me that truck right away and your Top Secret location is safe with me..😅
:). You local? There's gold in them thar hills.
Rc4wd are way to expensive for the Performance that you get
