What a great couple, honest, sincere and very funny. Loving the videos and looking forward to watching your adventures.
so great to hear, thank you very much, and welcome aboard
Good luck with the boat. Good advice on having the boat price as a bench mark for kitting it up. Living on the Gold Coast in Oz I don't often hear SA accents although recently I heard on my VHF radio on my sailboat the following conversation : " Seaway Tower, Seaway Tower this is Baie Dankie, Baie Dankie. Seaway Tower is that Buy a Donkey? Resigned SA accented voice, That will do".
😂😂😂 typical.... thanks for sharing, your wonderful comments and wishes, much appreciated
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'll say it again, you guys are my favorite channel. The genuine love and comfort you have for each other is great to see...need more of this in the world. All the best to you both!
ah man, you are a true legend, thanks so much, always much appreciated
That's so nice of you to say, thank you! 🤩
My boat reminds me of the Rumsfeld quote; "There are known knowns... also unknown unknowns". Fortunately upgrades and maintenance get cheaper every year as you learn more and more.
great quote, thank you, and thanks for watching... We are also now firm believers in doing things right the first time, no short cuts even if it costs a bit more
Love your sharing of the good, bad and ugly of your road to sailing, in a light hearted manner.💞 Surely lots of research, hard work and money. Time and money well spent.😃
thanks again for watching and posting such great comments, this is of such great value to us and much appreciated
Very interesting and great info! Thank you for sharing.
thank you for watching and posting great feedback, much appreciated
What a great experience, thank you for sharing all the costs and experiences on your purchase and refit and upgrade ....can you tell where are the best places to look for boats catamarans where you ,bought her..
Hi Louis, thanks for your great feedback, much appreciated... Our broker Rachel lists here www.syslangkawi.com/ We did a lot of browsing on Pop Yachts but they are USA based and registering there can be tricky. Also you can follow FB groups such as Rebak Yacthies and Telaga Yachties. Hope this helps... thanks again
Very interesting video. Was the 1st thing I asked I remembered;)
thanks for watching mate
It’s interesting how different costs are around the world. Thanks for sharing.

yeah, and I think you guys across the pond have it the worse. Thanks for watching and we will be following your progress (subscribed)... something I learned the hard way, ensure your videos now in your earlier stages, have no copyright issues with music, or cursing, it will affect you down the line when it comes time to monetize. Fair winds
This was a fantastically helpful video. I'm planning to buy a boat, so this is not only helpful but inspiring. Do you still live in SA, or have you moved permanently onto the boat? I left SA in 1987 and live in Europe, so I'll be looking at Italy or Croatia to buy a boat. Why did you go for Malaysia?
Hi Francis... We are currently in Cape Town and will move on board permanently January 2023. We wanted to start our cruising in Asia as visas for us Saffas are easier to arrange and we didn't want to start our sailing with an offshore passage. Malaysia then has relaxed requirements for registration (as well as costs). Looking forward to hearing about your progress, fair winds and thanks for the great comments
@@searchingforcoconuts2248 Thanks for your reply - I wish you all the best, fair winds and at least a hands-width under your keel.
Hi Searching for Coconuts.🤗Was lovely meeting you quickly around the corner from us. Would it have been much more expensive to buying and getting a boat sailing ready in South Africa?⛵
Hi Helen, likewise and thanks for popping over... as to your question, in SA there is more red tape involved and marinas are generally more expensive. Asia suited us as visa-on-arrival can be done in most countries
It won't be so painful when you are looking at a beautiful sunset with a couple of sundowners
💯
can't wait, thanks for watching
Oh yes, can't wait till we move aboard :) :)
I’m guessing you have the manual for the engine at hand. Tip you prolly already know… last resort for killing the engine. -Cut off the air supply at the air intake.
no manual, but picking up great tips such as your along the way
lol cut the video off so we cant see the tears haha , but am lucky was a car mechanic and bodyworker for years so knew how to do everything myself with help from youtubers such as yourselves lol
😂😂
After we registered with LIYR for 5 years only did we find out Registration with Germany, Kassel is a one time payment n really cheap but you just need a German address so if you have a friend living there....
also, only found out this week that there is a 5 year option 😂
@@searchingforcoconuts2248 but you don't have to reapply just renew right?
@@24hourtravellers correct, and much less costs for a 5 year renewal
@@searchingforcoconuts2248 we were quoted the same regardless if it's 1 year or 5 years. RM390/year
@@24hourtravellers sorry, I mean in comparison with the original registration fee, it's a lot less... we were also quoted RM390/year
Sounds like you actually got your boat set up for a reasonable amount of money, now are you ready for the explosion of cash to actually travel, haha. Larry
🤣 yep, sailing... the most expensive way to go somewhere for free
We want to go sailing with you guys
whoop whoop, let's make it happen 😄
We are going to see some boats today. Where are you guys right now?
We want the visit you guys in person. By the time we get a boat and maybe refit it.. would take a while. Just want to say high and maybe go around a bit. Well but the champagne.
Ok, we take video of you two working the boat. Help you edit video, do some graphics. We help you do 3D models and animations for presentations....
@@cheetah8285 we are currently anchored at Kata beach, Thailand. Will be making our way back into Malaysia in a couple of days. Where you looking?
Are these two drunk?
