For those who would like to get the arrangementsfrom Mrs Soeller, let me tell you in advance that the arrangement are made for an A clarinet. It is in A major for the flute and piano, and therefore the score is in C major for the A clarinet. She provided the Bb translation to me, at the same time, which is in B major (5#). There are quite a few E in this arrangement for the Bb clarinet, which makes it virtually almost a 6# piece... My trio opted to transpose the arrangement from A to Bb (half a tone up) for the flute and piano, which will bring back the clarinet part from a crazy 5# to a C major key. The flute and piano go from 3# to 2 flats... My pianist partner is a bit disappointed because she says it changes the "color" of the piece. I have a used A clarinet incoming by mail tomorrow, for a 1 week trial, just because of that... It is an old R13 completly rehauled (the vendor says).... Story to be continued... 😁
I am available for all further questions at any time :-). I transpose into any key of your choice if you ask me to do so (and it is possible). In your case it might have been better to transpose the whole piece down a semitone, then you would have had 2b and your partners 4b? In any case: the original piece is in F sharp minor ...:-)
@@felicienne38 , hello, I can transpose too in any key. I am comfortable with Musescore3 and regularly transpose stuff for the clarinet. I thought about what you said, going half a tone down, but we would have trespassed what a flute can do, in term of lowest note playable on a flute, and so we opted to go up. :) Anyway I own an A clarinet now, and it's pretty useful anyway for me. I'm done playing 4# from now on, I will transpose everything in E into F... I play in church so it's much better like that. We have 600 hymns and I cannot know them all, and it's much easier to sight read in F than in E. So for me, owning an A clarinet is a good thing. tnx a lot! :)
