This was the song I was holding out for! Absolutely sucked me into the game while playing the opendev.
Lyrics / Adapted from Ovide's Metamorphoses (book 1, myth of the ages of mankind)
Latin:
Aurea prima aetas
Fidem rectumque colebat
Dabat omnia tellus
Ultima ferro
A victa pietas
Astrea reliquit
Fugere pudor
Fides in quorum locum
Fraudes doli
Amor habendi
Iam ferrum
iam aurum nocentem
Ecce bellum
A victa pietas
Astrea reliquit
English:
Golden is the first age
Which gave honour to good faith and righteousness
Earth gave all her bounteous store
Last came the race of iron
Ah! Piety lay vanquished
Astrea fled away
Faith fled with modesty
Replaced by
Fraud and deceit
And greed for gain
Iron now was in men's hands
Now was baneful gold
And war marched forth
Ah Piety lay vanquished
Astrea fled away
French:
D'or est le premier âge
On cultivait la confiance et le droit
La terre donnait tout
De fer est le dernier âge
Ah la piété est vaincue
Astrée quitte la terre
Ont fui la pudeur, la foi
En leur lieu sont venus
Les fraudes et les ruses
Le désir d'avoir
Désormais c'est le fer
Désormais, l'or nuisible
Et voici la guerre
Ah la piété est vaincue
Astrée quitte la terre
Truly magnificent! Thank you for these translations.
YES! This is the one! This one is my favorite!
Same here
This song is absolutely beautiful.
This is a masterpiece. I don't know why it has so little views.
It's always the Classical Age (the second age) music that makes the lasting memory to this genre. Humankind has definitely left a lasting impression with this work. Well done!
Found you! This is my favourite, couldn’t believe it when I first heard it during an intense war. So good!
Ohman, Carole Matras voice is so enthralling on this pieces, thanks alot for sharing
So important to this song as Arnaud Roy is.
Thank You all for this masterpiece
this song made me cry.. I don't know why?
This is what will play when our real history comes to an end.
True masterpiece
Absolutely amazing music and game!
Underrated
Beautiful! Thank you!

August is coming
It came and it’s better than civ 6 for sure.
@@user-db5ol4ku6d Being better than civ 6 isn't a very high bar to set. It isn't even better than civ 5, which was the worst civ before beyond earth and 6 came out.
@@attackmaster519 The game was a success regardless. They both use the hexagon system, however Humankind is definitely different in combat and civilizations. The combat, though a little weird at first, became far more interesting than civ 5 or 6’s battles. The combat is in depth and doesn’t lack in combat strategy, (always go for the highlands). The land expansion feels more challenging than civ’s, and the overall game is slightly more challenging. The way you advance through the ages make you feel like an actual ruler, and you can even customize your own if you preordered like me, lol. Even the soundtrack is better than civ’s by far, varying by culture in the right way. It felt way more realistic and satisfying, the game can obviously use more work but so far it has impressed me far more than civ’s cartoony aspect ever did. The more they update it, the more it may outmatch those games, but don’t think I’m hating on civ because both of these titles hold a place in my heart.
What a great Song.....What great vocals....
The composer is playing 3 instruments in this video.
For the Glory that is Rome.
Очень красиво! Спасибо вам за шедевр :)
Superb!
If you mash up Oracle and this song...
Lovely
넘 아름답습니다. 잘보고 갑니다.
When Rome conquers everyone.
Can they sing something good about the humans?
Nah
@@Riptide-fx1xc the aliens might have the wrong idea of humankind
What do the lyrics say?
@@klendathusfinest4126 G4F has released the lyrics in the comments (see above)
But basically, the mastery of iron led to human greed and turned all that was golden (and innocent) into iron and flames.
They sing what is beautiful about humans and what is beautiful in general isn't necessarily good...
