Yonex Astrox 77 Pro vs Tour vs Play Badminton Racket Comparison - Where is the Game model?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 28 чер 2024
- I compare and review the Yonex Astrox 77 Pro against its cheaper and more affordable siblings, the Yonex Astrox 77 Tour and Yonex Astrox 77 Play badminton rackets. Surprisingly, the Yonex Astrox 77 Game model was missing from this lineup of very versatile and well playing rackets.
The Yonex Astrox 77 Pro is a favourite of many players, including the pros. Watch to find out if the Yonex Astrox 77 Tour and Yonex Astrox 77 Play feel and play like its flagship, high end sibling.

Great outro! Would love to see more game footage of you using the rackets being reviewed :)
been waiting so long for this video❤❤
Great Video!!Also I listened to the podcast with you, Tobi and Kai. Amazing podcast especially I'm very interested in anything badminton related. Hope there's part 2!
Awesome like always, and so helpful. Thank you CK YEW 🍻
Great video! Please do a review for DriveX 10 Metallic next, a lot of pro players are moving to this racket. Putting metal in badminton rackets sounds like a step back, really curious if it changes anything
Wow, surprising that they get stiffer as they get cheaper. I've thought high stiffness was a feature more advanced players are looking for, so higher-end models would be stiffer to tailor for that.
It’s never any stiffer when you go down to the play models. The rexis shaft on the tour models has a slightly stiffer feel but the difference is so small and negligible.
Its not
Great video as always! @CK Yew can you make a video on how to cut your string when they break. Thanks you so much !!! :)
at last..this is what im waiting for
Hello❤ you're doing a very nice work for all badminton enthusiasts👍 But have you ever come around APACS rackets??? How are they in terms of other brands!! Can you review some if possible or share your experience👍
Could you maybe make a video about racquet features? how does one feature impacts the performance of the racquet. I.E. recessed half of the way on the racquet head, what does it do, recessed top and bottom, what does it do, long and short shafts what does it do, smaller and normal and big racquet head, what does it do, etc etc. It'll be much appreciated as I always hear this features mention in your videos but always thought, "but why and how does it affect it" and i'm sure there is someone out there thinking the same. Cheers
Hi CK, My favorite racket is yonex astrox 99 pro and I wanted to know how does 77 pro compare to 99 pro. Could you please enlighten me.
Hello CK can you please review the thruster ryuga td. Thanks so much :)
Probably the shorter shaft (0.5cm shorter) is the reason why the tour version feels stiffer than the pro version. But it is still strange that the pro version is less stiff than the cheaper version.
Nanoflare 800 play, game, and tour comparison pls!!
imo buying the low end yy rackets is waste of money when other "less popular" brand rackets offer much better quality/price ratio
He's just reviewing if it's worth the money for the people who don't know
What would you recommend?
The thing is the cheaper ones are less fortified as Ive seen friends cracking their play rackets despite light clashes
Tell us the less popular brands
@@vijayantony6017Apacs, felet and lining
Could you please make a video about the difference of Nanoflare 800lt, Aeronaut 9000i and Tectonic 9i. Thanks a lot
WOAH THIS CAME OUTTA NOWHERE 😂💯
i got the tour version ,and i highly recommend to get the tour version if you are on the budget.the performance of tour version is outstanding in this price range.
What player level would you recommend?
Don't overestimate yourself.i will recommend for the beginner ,the amateur player or the player who doesn't have enough strengh and skills for the powerfull or high quality smashing, because the player have no need the high quality skills and "speedy" for playing.if you wish for "very powerfull" smashing or "speedy" gaming and you are pro player ,you should pick other racket.the feature of the as-77 is good handling exprience for players ,that why the professonal single player love the pro version ,it's easy handling when facing the various situation in single game .especially, the female single professional players.
4u or 3u tour?
@@ammm5158 i get 4u
When are we getting the ryuga mettalic review
Can anyone tell how different is 77 tour and Astrox Nextage is when it comes to shaft stiffness and playablility ?
can you do a review for the new YONEX NANOFLARE NEXTAGE
Please do a review of Yonex astrox 38D and 38S
I have both the Pro and the Tour with me now, and I find them very different spec-wise (both were from Direct Badminton).
My 77 Pro is head heavy while the Tour feel almost even-balanced. Handle length is the same on both, but the Tour's got a bigger frame (same size as the new Arcsaber frame). Shaft stiffness is about the same, but because of it's lighter head, the Tour's shaft feel stiffer.
Nanoflare 800 pro, tour, game, play series review not done yet?
Which one you will recommend ax100 game / 77play / 99 game / 99 tour or 88s game
My Astrox 77 pro strings just snapped today 😭😭😭seeing the gameplay make me miss my racket even more
Time to get it restrung and back on court ASAP
review duora z strike gem plz.........I have tried many new models but not satisfied as z strike
What I also remember you saying on your review of the 77 pro was that if you already had an Astrox 77 it really wasn’t worth the money to upgrade because the upgrade was so negligible.
afaik, 77 pro is mostly compared to the old 77 red, and it's not even an upgrade, the feel is completely different. Now 77 pro is mostly treated as a replacement for the original 88S, which is used mostly in front court while still retaining some degree of attack power. In my case, I switched from 77 blue (which was a bit geared toward defensive play) to 77 pro, and I think that they are quite similar in my use case (mostly drops, clears, blocks in front, few smashes).
I personally prefer my Astrox 77 over my 77 pro.
But CK did say in his video on the Astrox 77 pro that this upgrade really wasn’t worth it. I personally only got a 77 pro because I couldn’t get a 77 anymore and I needed a spare racket
@@mdth2012different colours of the 77 have different performance? Can you explain?
@@cronchapfsds957 I think the feels between different colors are a bit different, since 2 of those are the original and the other one was a newer version. I cannot find any comprehensive source in english, but in the badminton community over here, they are usually regarded as such:
- yellow is the most geared toward attacking with best clears and smashes due to higher balance point
- red is the most balanced and best for control/front-court attacking
- blue is not that popular but I think it's easier to defend with it than with red, either because it's less stiff or it's less head-heavy
Also, the specs might be not be the same even between 2 rackets of the same color, so just take this as some extra info.
@@mdth2012 thank you for your information 🙏🙏 if I may ask, what country/community did you get this from?

Hi CK, ive recently started playing again after quite a few years off. Id say im at an intermediate level...torn between the 88D game and the 77 tour. Do you have any preference between the two?
hi, astrox 88d game is a very great racket for its price point, good power, and very user friendly, medium stiff, so you still can get good control with it and still helps you to generate more power. never tried astorx 77 tour, so i can't help you with the review. However, based on the astrox 88d tour that i tried, there is not much difference between the two, so i will go for the cheaper option, which is the game model. if you have the budget i recommend going for the pro, but the game or tour model is enough to give you good feedback.
@@yourleftlung8762 thanks! I was staying away from the pro variants purely because I thought they were harder to use, is that the case? I thought the stiffer frame would rely more on technique and the game/ tour models are more user friendly. Appreciate the advice!
@@CaptaiinPancakez yes, stiffer racket is more demanding to use. However, some pro models are user-friendly too despite the stiff shaft, e.g astrox 77 pro and arcsaber 7 pro.
I have change my 88d pro into this 77pro..and i feel a different..77 is heavy when smash..but not too heavy while defend. Thank you.
👌
is it better than the 77 pro? please let me more about comparison.
@@west9383 77 pro is better then 88d pro..for me..
which play model is the best for double player?
I use the pro and it's the best mid racquet imo,
I have Astrox nextage with aerobit 27x28lb I wanna get a new racket similar but more stiff and lighter. what do u recommend. price
What about the difference with Astrox Nextage?
I never had a Yonex racket before. Currently using N7ii and 3D Calibar 600c. I just want to move to the Yonex racket and recently bought a 77 Play, but it is not smooth for me, always miss the jab and soft touches. I am mostly playing double looking for more mid/backcourt control. Now torn between Astrox 77 Pro or 100z or Nanoflare 800 Pro. Any suggestion?
I suggest the 77pro (if you want yonex), if you think you cannot even handle 77 play, don't even think about 100zz and 800 pro.
I had tested many different rackets, ranging from stuff like Volant, babolat, kawasaki, to yonex and lining. I would say, yonex does feel nice, but I honestly think they are too expensive.
@@yichenchen9410 Thank you for your suggestion.
Hello doctor, does your 77 pro make any clicking sound from the shaft/ferrule when you shake or slightly bend the shaft?
No but that’s probably just the glue in the cone has gone a bit dry?
what is the best budget racket?
I'm a intermediate player. Should i buy tour model
Hi CK, would you recommend the Astrox 77 pro or the Arcsaber 11 pro (both 4u) if I’m a control singles player with Aerobite as my preferred string? Thank you very much.
Arcsaber 11 pro
Both are very good, it’s all down to your preference 👌
@@CKYew Thank you very much! I am currently using an Arcsaber 11 pro with the same setup mentioned (plus a 27lbs tension), although still I'm looking for more power in my smashes. Is the Astrox 77 pro the way to go, considering that recent pros like Momota have also found much success with the racket?
hi ckyew,
which racket protection tape suitable for astrox 77 pro? standard or thin & long ?
Thin and Long would work well 👌👌
Can you please review drivex 10 !!!
It’s coming 👌
Please, make a review of victor thruster ryuga metalic.
It’s coming 👌👌
Hi CK! Which racquet would you say has a stiffer shaft? 77pro or 88s pro? Thinking of switching to 77pro from 88s pro due to shaft stiffness. Or can you recommend me a racquet that will fit my specific needs? A slightly head heavy racket with a not so stiff shaft. Thanks!
Sounds like the 77 Pro would be a good fit for you. Or even the Arcsaber 11 Pro?
thanks,@@CKYew !! appreciate your advice! will definitely look into this! if i can follow up my question, comparing the 88s pro, arcsaber 11 pro, and 77 pro, which would have the stiffest shaft among the 3?
I'm an AX77 pro user for about a year, would you recommend AX100zz, NF1000z, or NF800pro for all rounder player like myself. thanks
NF1000Z
Considering your previous racket is AX77 pro, you can try the 100zz. It’s not that heavy but it’s a quick access to power
I would actually add the Arcsaber 11 Pro to your list of rackets to try 😂
@@CKYew i do have Arcsaber 11 pro & 7 pro, they're my other rackets in my bag 😁 both are awesome for a more accurate play
but, 77 pro seems more suited for my style, be it singles / doubles. Never touched nanoflares series tho.
Never too late to try more 😂
Asking for suggestions i am an intermediate player i dont what to buy between astrox 77 tour or astrox next nage which one is better
I bought the Nextage a month ago. I love it for singles but it's a tad too head heavy for me in doubles. I found myself blocking a lot more shuttles at the rim because I was a tad slower than what I'm used to with medium balanced rackets.
If I were to go back in time I would try to get either the 77 tour or even the 11 tour since they're a bit more balanced. Honestly I would lean a bit more towards the 11 since personally I realised I don't need the extra power from the head heavy racket at all. Also my club doesn't really have room for singles :(
Thank you i appreciate your comment
Next model from Yonex is Nanoflare Nextage...but I am not optimist this new racket will be smooth in selling because the market have more choice better than this new racket...in the next 2024, CK
Just look at the Astrox Nextage...Low sales and massive flop. Nextage was just a Low-Mid range gimmick.
Arcsaber 11 tour or Astrox 77 tour ??
Appreciate the response
Arcsaber
Does the Play version of Yonex Rackets can withstand 30lbs tension?
Nope.
Quick question i want an even balanced racquet with $80 ish budget what do you recommend?
99 Tour vs 77 Tour vs 100 Tour - which is the best among these?
77 tour if you play doubles mostly. It’s fast and flexible . I would rate it like this; speed: 77 tour> 100 tour> 99 tour while power: 99 tour> 100 tour> 77 tour. So pick 77 tour or 100 tour. 99 tour is only suitable for singles.
@@zachmerryweather805 Might as well go with Arcsaber 11 Tour for doubles.
NF 800 family
Nanoflare nextage?
Launching sometime in Jan 2024 I believe
I am confused between Astrox 88d pro and Astrox 77 pro please help me sir ? I am a hard hitter and difensive too
77 pro...
Is this new?
i don't think so
You strung all the racquets @27x29 lbs
The tour and pro modles can handle this but the play one can only handle max tension of 28lbs so how can you string it thsi high without breaking?
it's not a max handle its a recommendation like Viktor axelson strings his rackets at 30+ but it doesn't break or snap
Mine are totally scratched
Guess yonex went back to 3,6,9 system with 77PRO
800play spec......
Get ready for the Nanoflare Nextage !
I'm ready for it!! 🤣
1
I'm firsts
Sometimes I don't really trust the Medium flex that Yonex said 🥲
For example, even though it is both medium but the 77 Pro felt quite stiff compares to the Nanoflare 700
There’s always a range
@@CKYew thank you very much for the reply
