Why must South Africa wait for international law to be changed? We are a Republic which means we are independent managing our own affairs. The world must follow us, not us the world. The USA are busy doing exactly what needs to be done for their people! It is the "friendship" between the ANC apartheids government and the world that prevent them from taking the right step, clueless without any leadership skills!
The West undercuts African countries making it harder for them to develop. We being told to do close coal plants making harder to industrialize under the same conditions they did. Wake up and smell the coffee. These countries don’t want us to be better. It’s in their interest.
What has happened to South Africa’s global corporate governance initiative which included social development, sustainability and accountability. It cannot just be about double figure profits
How are they going to do this though? Distributing excess food among the poor is a lot of work, they would have to create organised processes to ensure that the right people have access to these foods. Not to mention transportation costs, administrative costs; quality control to ensure that the food is kept in good condition etc. I'm not being negative just realistic.
There will always be rich and poor. Doesn't matter where you go in the world that is the reality. Fact is, we need foreign investment. No investment, no factories, no work. Unemployment doesn't occur in a vacuum. There are very real reasons why it occurs. One of them is property rights, the other is a system that extorts money from companies wishing to invest. We have both of these issues. Extortion by cadres in the government and the constant attack on property rights. Add BEE and the problem is further exacerbated. No work, no food, no property and no tax base for a government to operate from which means no infrastructure and services. Simple.
What a merry mix up of concepts that have nothing to do with each other. But if the results are so nefarious, there's an easy solution: throw those companies out of those countries. I note that the many of those "exploited" countries have moved to medium income countries.
Let's get over this now there is no more apartheid this is totally nonsense stuff, stop the last persecutions, we living now in the last days the whole world has problems what more is needed, to blame the past for the present, get along
Those Ines are not orofitable as legal concerns. They can only make money illegally cause then there is no safety, hygiene & working standards & taking it to market that cost money.
It seems to me that politicians and businesses have a lot in common.

Which further goes to the question of having a State owned seed bank. Because clearly, there's a move to monopolize seeds.
It is about time!
