These are lovely, I love the sparkly on the right and adore the silk. Then again, purple is my favorite color and these all draw me. Beautiful as always.
They are all soooo beautiful! But If I had to choose just one it would be the luminance silk. The subtle shine of the silk and the color blends are just wonderful.
I love the silk, I'm glad it still had light patches, gives it a more "romantic" vibe....but then again, some of my favorite yarns ARE 50/50 mulberry silk/merino blends...
Beautiful colors. Love the Baby blue eyes. Would love to see that with something orange or coral. And what a surprise with how the Hyacinth was a "late bloomer!""
I remembered that Hyacinth disappears and then comes back with force, so it was funny to see it go from a dusty pale lilac to quite a bright purple! I like the silvery sock best but of course they all turned out beautifully.
I love how all 3 turned out.😍 But I love working with silk/merino wool blends. I don't get a chance to work with them often mostly because they are usually pretty pricey, but the experience is always heavenly.
Ooo, that silk is sooooo pretty! I would love to see you dye a more saturated silk colorway. Maybe you could wind a skein into minis to give you more to play with, since it is more expensive.
silk stellina blend yarns are my absolute favourite base, its so exciting to see you play with them! I actually literally just ordered some BFL/silk/gold stellina yarn to dye up and make myself a throw blanket with so that was a weird coincidence i decided to watch this video right now lol
So my wife has asked a few times if there's a reason you don't put some water in the pan first, then some acid and mix it in, _then_ add the yarn (and maybe more water and acid). :D I don't have the answer! :D
I think it depends on if I forgot to add acid to the water first or not. ;) Sometimes I try to mix the acid with the water I'm going to pour on, but other times I add water and then think... oh I need acid, lol.
I hand painted a blank with hyacinth for some self striping yarn and I had the same issue with it not being as bright as I expected it to be until I added heat. I wound up using a ton more dye than I planned on, or should have used.
The silk yarn is so pretty. Pure joy and love. Wouldn't it be fun to compare 100% alpaca, mohair, merino, (cashmir), silk and angora yarn to each other, with similar weights to exclude variation in the surface area. It would be fun to see how differently different fibers take in the same amount of dye. But I would not dye these fibers in the same pan, at the same time: you could not control the absorbed amount of dye. When dyed in the same pan it could be that the merino absorbs majority of the dye before silk or angora had a possibility to absorb any of it. 🤔
I wouldn't kettle dye different fiber types in one pot for this reason - unless I'm okay with some absorbing some more color than others, of course. Low immersion, the dyes don't travel too far in the pan so it allows me to apply similar amounts of dye to different skeins.
Oh man...seriously, how does one make bedroom eyes at yarn?? Gorgeous! I'd love to see a comparison of DOS on wool and silk. Maybe using minis you could only sacrifice one skein of silk in total?
I love the silk. I think, to get the saturation that you want with that you would have to dye it on it's own. The silk is so pretty, but Anything lighter than DK kills my hands, so I would have to pick the DK yarn. Psst, I love all shades of purple, so, I wouldn't turn my nose up at any of it.
In this case, the silk looking so much lighter isn't because the other yarn absorbed more of the dye. The colors looked very similar during the dyeing process. I would just need to add that much more dye for the silk. I plan to do a video where I play with a lot of silk depths of shade at some ponit.
I love the silk the best - it is gorgeous! would love to see more experiments with the silk. I have just spun and plied an alpaca singles with a silk singles and I plan to dye the yarn so I am very curious about how the colour might be less saturated on the silk than the alpaca. I already expect that the yarn will be slightly barber poled but I thought that the two fibres would take the colour slightly differently - I did not consider that the saturation might differ too :) (I would like that effect too!)
Any time I use actual purple it just takes over lol. If I want to do other colors I brown a blue with a pink in lol it's the only time I get purple with other colors. Purple is just sooo dominating. Those are absolutely gorgeous tho.

So lovely. Each one is more beautiful than the next, no matter how you line them up! That Hyacinth was quite the surprise.
Yes it was!
All turned out beautiful , but silk is always gonna be my fav!!!😁❤️
Thank you!

Hyacinth is such a wonderful purple!

Yessssss 🎉 I have to say the sparkle yarn is just stunning! The sparkle DK is my fav because it’s a muted sparkle and the plump ❤
The sparkle DK base is soo cool, I need to get more!
@@ChemKnitsTutorials yes for sure
I love these so much-- purple is my favorite!!!
Thank you!
I love these colors! They remind me of breaking Wilton Violet.
They do a bit!

Wow! How would a person even choose a favorite? They’re all gorgeous! This was even more magical than dying usually is, LOL! 🥰
Thank you, Angie!
I too love the silk, but the others turned out awesome! Thank you for being brave!
You are so welcome!
Wow! That is absolutely beautiful! You did am amazing job!
Thank you so much!

Coral would be so fun!
Silk makes a great warp!

This one was a big surprsie, lol.

It was so soft!

I realized that I can get embroidery floss that is 100% silk and already wound into 3 gram minis from W2D4, I'll grab some with my next order.

OOOOO!! BFL/Silk/Stellina sounds awesome!
I like to see how the different yarn bases take the same colors.
Thank you! It is a lot of fun to film these.
My favorite is the sparkle sock.
That base is SO MUCH FUN!
Love the results
Thanks!
Beautiful colours, maybe add a H on the label for the purple as a reminder that you need heat.
That woudln't be a bad idea!
The 100% silk is my favorite
It is SOOO pretty! I just wish the base wasn't as expensive!

I think I ended up with that here, lol. But it was a happy accident.
I wish I knew what to do with that lace weight silk bc omg gorgeous
Right?!?!

Yes please try dyeing 100% silk.
I'd love to dye more of it! I have a few more skeins of the Luminance.

I need to find the scarves! OH I wonder if I got some silk embroidery thread... maybe i did?!?!?!?!?!?
Your color choices are beautiful. I really not the silk. Blessings.
Thank you!

I find 100% alpaca takes the colours in pretty similarly to silk. The tones are more muted down and pastel in alpaca when compared to 100%merino/wool.
@@peltopeikonpingotukset8049 Thanks for the info - I am sure I will love whatever I get!
@@susandorrington7623 Alpaca is often more muted than wool, but I find that it tends to look deeper at a similar DOS to silk.

THank you!
I would love to see you dye a very saturated silk yarn.
I want to try for sure!
Silk!!!
:D
Silk makes a great warp!
I'd worry about snapping it! but I'll have to try it.
