Yup it’s all coming back to me... The original Banjo-Kazooie game over scene for the Nintendo 64 would always gave me chills when I was younger. Tootie scared me when she walks to screen all big and green like that, okay?!
Poor Bear & Bird Duo. They've deserved a better reputation than being more recognized as a DLC Smash character than the main games. I'll never forgive "Nuts & Bolts" for killing the duo's reputation thus causing the franchise to be dead forever. Until someone made a brand new Banjo Kazooie game that stayed true to the original game while having "Quality of Life Updates" to keep up with modern standards like Super Mario Odyssey before, nobody remembers the duo except in Smash Ultimate.
My only reason why is there game over after Save and Quitting the game in Banjo-Kazooie, it's because of a glitch. See, when the game is turn off or reseted then the lifes are restarted too, so the game thinks you lose all your lifes and the game over screen appears. The developers thought could fix that but they kept that on the game as a little joke or to show you what would happen if Banjo doesn't rescue Tooty.

I am really happy to see that even though Microsoft has bought the rights of owning Rare nearly 2 decades ago, Nintendo has still managed to bring over their official mascot(s), depending on how you look at it (I mean, I don't know if they are Rare's official mascot(s), but considering how iconic they are despite only having 5 games so far (not counting Xbox Live remakes/Rare Replay ports of those remakes), they might as well be) into Smash Brothers after so many years of demanding from so many longtime fans, including myself (even if they could be greatly improved)! :D Here's hoping that the N64 Banjo-Kazooie games will get complete remakes with brand new graphics someday, just like with Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro The Dragon, as well as a completely new game in the franchise too!
Have you seen the details put in the spiral mountain stage for smash ultimate ? If Nintendo can make something like this for smash, just imagine how amazing a full banjo-kazooie HD remake for Switch would be ! That is something that NEEDS to happen. At least for an anniversary special or something, but it has to !
