I use bookly based on one of your older tutorials. We have a service rental business. I found out the hard way that all the features you want end up costing a decent amount of money. I’ve been able to recoup my costs based on bookings that were done on my website without any interaction with the client, so that’s nice.
I have noticed the developer strips a lot of the features and then sell them as add-ons I don’t like it. I didn’t mention that in this video but when I promoted them before they had many of the payment gateways inside the plug-in. :/
I've used Bookly quite a bit in the past as well. The extras do end up costing a lot. My main issue was Bookly just kept on bugging. I work in a web agency so I had installed it for many clients. In the begining always works fine, and as time goes on, bugs constantly, the worse is the Google synchronisation... I lost clients because of this and constantly had clients calling me for issues such as double bookings, reservations not synchronised, etc etc. So this year I switched to Booknetic, best decision ever! That things runs smoothly and the back office is beautiful and user friendly (contrarely to Bookly). I have zero complaints from clients now 😁😇

Really appreciate your time on this. It was so helpful. WORD OF WARNING. Amelia doesn't work well as a ROOM booking plug-in - UNLESS you've a very simple set up. It didn't work at all well at the testing stage with our customers at the studio - and too many features just didn't allow the flexibility - and the (very helpful) support - are suggesting lots of work-arounds... but I HATE a new product having to be a WORKAROUND from the start. EG - you HAVE to have an employee.. THis isn't the case with room bookings.. so yeah, sadly - despite the support etc... it's just not for room booking

Hi Darrell, thanks for the tutorial. I've tried all of these plugins and they all have the same annoying downside. All of them force you to include the price along with the service. Some business may prefer their clients to pay after the service or they simply don't have fixed prices, that can be reasonable for a barber shop but not for other complex services like medical ones. Do you know of one appointment manager that allows you to leave out the service price? I would also need a customizable form along the booking process to gather specific info from the client. Thanks!
A workaround I used for this scenario is I used WPAmelia and set a price $0.00 Making it as a free session but explaining in the description how the charges will be calculated depending on the requirements of the job. I hope this helps.

Amelia has a whole backend that lives inside the WP dashboard and several user roles. This is not shown in the review and he actually says Amelia only has a basic dashboard, which is not true. He does show the, let's call it front-end employee dashboard, that can be presented on any page via a shortcode, but you get a lot more info and functionality from the WP dashboard in the backend.

too bad no rental plugin with product variations such as ski sizes, bike sizes... if a client rents a bike he needs to have the option of different sizes, same with skis, dresses a.s.o - all those plugins do not offer that
Unfortunately Booknetic forces the users to display their logo on the appointment booking part which all your customers and staff view when they want book something. I think for the price customers shouldn't be forced to advertise for them.

too bad no rental plugin with product variations such as ski sizes, bike sizes... if a client rents a bike he needs to have the option of different sizes, same with skis, dresses a.s.o - all those plugins do not offer that
you can try to use wp-rentals, i shoulda recommended that in the video
Unfortunately Booknetic forces the users to display their logo on the appointment booking part which all your customers and staff view when they want book something. I think for the price customers shouldn't be forced to advertise for them.
