Numi - that's a lovely coin. Yesterday, in Perth Australia, I picked up my GB 1853 Sov PCGS PR DCAM 64 from Eric E. This is a truly beautiful coin as well. It compliments my GB 1825 Sov PSGS PR DCAM 63 I bought earlier last year. Dr Gary
Gorgeous acquisition! Well done. I agree that this was a very special video. You are quite the professional and you already know what to do. I would hope with your relationship with NGC and NCS that they would take good care of you especially with all of the free advertising you give them in every video you produce.
the shieldbacks on those larger 1826 sovereigns are so fine and intricate. Very neat design. love the history behind these diff. strikes. thx for the video.
I really enjoyed your video, thank you. Despite being nearly 48, I'm very new to the hobby, and as yet, know very little, so your explanation of what exactly 'Proof Coins' are was very helpful. My first love is photography, so originally I just purchased some very cheap coins to take some pictures of, but my interest was sparked and now I want to carry on collecting. I don't have a lot to spend on my hobby, but that doesn't matter to me. I just like collecting coins at the moment! Kind regards.
That's one amazing coin to ad to your collection, well done!! Love those older coin's, got myself a 1827 1 cent from the Netherlands in MS65RB last week.
Very nice pickup! Was it the + that swayed you for this coin? I would eventually NCS that coin, even if I would have to sell a couple of coins for it...
Does the Queen get a sample coin of every one that the Royal Mint puts out? And does she ever show her collection? That would make a great video for you.
well there was a lot of dream coins there amazing numi great video, make sure you have a look on the verification site at the pictures of this coin, was the degrigation there when slabbed or is this degraded once slabbed, thats the question but there are what looks like dirt around the edges that will clean off, somethink for you to ponder on...
Surely the creme de la creme of sovereign proof coins? I found the content fascinating. Puts the likes of modern commemorative and novelty coins into perspective, at least where I'm concerned. Well done with your acquisition and what you had to say goodbye to, to get there.
A second in silver dip would turn your coin into a fantastic PR65/6. What is really rare in older British proofs is a lack of hairlines due to cleaning. Yours is completely free of those, as the hairlines, as you stated, are die polishing lines.
Great video, and fascinating to see how your collection evolved into this high premium ultra special area of coins. These coins stay with the holder for life often I am sure. I would advise not to conserve it. It's stunning as is and it's history travels with it imo would not conserve anything prior to 1980s and effectively modern proofs. None of my business of course, thanks for sharing!
Looking back are you happy with this strategy of buying one or two very rare coins? They are beautiful and much nicer to look at than standard modern coins. Have they increased in value more than bullion? Hard to tell I suppose without knowing their value today.
Naw...I dont get it. Aside from the rarety and value and history and heritage and amazing eye appeal ,and appreciateable value. i can't see why anyone would want these. Lol. They are truely wonderfull. Congrats on your amazing pick up
Why do you pay so much for coins without provenance? All the coin dealers / expert I know that collect, don't buy any coins for themself without it having old provenance, before 1970.
It has provenance of sorts as it was part of an established collection the GKW Roberts collection and clearly if it could be traced it goes back a long way.
@@Numistacker GKW Roberts collection is not provenance, he is a modern collector. When looking for provenance the coin needs to be linked to a person that died long time ago and collection sold long after their deaths or the coin need to be illustrated in an auction catalogue, some people accept old sale tickets too. I don't want to bash what you buy, but more people in the big game start ask for provenance on coins. Ancient coins with provenance goes many times over than a coin with no provenance. We see now in the big game, that coins from Virgil Brand, Ernst Otto Horn, Hohenkubin++ fetch premiums and it's increasing. I believe this will keep on going. Maybe one don't need to set a pedigree before 1970, like I have done. But I can guarantee you that in the future, people will ask more and more, I think a amateur collector like you, should focus on provenance at least before year 2000. I also want to note that British museum don't display old coins without provenance before 1970.
Well done Numi, stunning coin. In my opinion most beautiful and my favourite portrait of all time

Beautiful piece and choice mate, Gratz !
Very nice pickup! Was it the + that swayed you for this coin?
I would eventually NCS that coin, even if I would have to sell a couple of coins for it...
When I saw it in London at Coinex I knew it was special. It went for more than I thought but sometimes you just need to pay the price.
Does the Queen get a sample coin of every one that the Royal Mint puts out? And does she ever show her collection? That would make a great video for you.
Please make a video on the coins you sold to buy the half sov
Lovely coin well done numi 👍
Congratulations on your acquisition, it's absolutely amazing.
Thanks very much it’s very special for sure and I’m very proud of it
Stunning coin and an amazing addition to your growing collection.

I think it was there and it’s pretty minor no question this would conserve well
@@Numistacker it would be nice and well worth it if it got a 65, dont forget to let us all know when it does eventually come back from ngs...
Spectacular coins. Great video.
Your selling and saving certainly paid off, that 1953 1/2 Sovereign is stunning. Oww! I've gone over all green. Thanks for sharing.
It’s a fun little game ))

I don’t regret selling lots of very nice coins as I am happier with just a few special ones
Wow.
Just wow.
You're one lucky guy to get your mitts on that ! 👍👏👏😍
Lovely, simply lovely!
My kind of game... never really was into these new bullion coins you present so often.
More new coins around than these )) that’s why this is special
Great buy!
I love the shield back.
Very nice coin great buy.
That George IV gold set(bare head),is exquisite....
Well done Numi, great coin fabulous grade. NCS can remove those copper spots and make it at least a PF65 or PF65+ 👍
I will see what they can do ))
@@Numistacker get them to throw in a special Numistacker Collection label as well. Lol
