Ive just gone the other way, from a 20 plate 1200 XE in cobalt blue to a new 23 plate Tiger 900 GT Pro. Loved the XE but just too tall for my 29" inseam, but still enjoyed the 2 years i owned it. The Tiger 900 is perfect for me, I can flat foot it and have confidence on any road camber. So thank you for developing an absolutely brilliant bike. Enjoy the big XE, they are a grin factor bike.
Enjoy your tiger you definitely won’t be disappointed you will get plenty of smiles per hour ☝️thank you for watching and commenting most appreciated 👌
@@bikerbuddy3166 Already got nearly 3000 miles on the Tiger, and that was including a 3 day 800 mile mini tour in Scotland fully loaded with luggage and pillion. A superb bike that coped with ease and great fuel economy, over 240 miles per tank. Still got a Bonneville to ride as the Mrs has the Scrambler 900, which to be honest is just as good as the 1200 as a riding experience. I do miss the bark of mine though as it had SP Engineering slash cut exhaust on it, and that was a giggle a minute.
Cool 😎 now there’s a exhaust I would like 👍 yep my misses has the 900 and I loved riding that in development but I just find it a tad to low for me especially now I’ve been rebuilt a few times ☝️
Definitely follow your heart I love riding all bikes but I’m definitely in love with this one ☝️ ❤️🙏as ever thx for watching and commenting most appreciated 🙏
Scrambler is a great choice and a real head turner. Happy to see you’re in love again. ❤. I think it’s natural that we bikers sometimes need a new kick, whether it’s scaling up or down the bike range. As a GS rider, thinking about a retro W800 Kawasaki…something completely different…back to the roots. Good luck and safe riding, Greetings from Berlin,Jim
It took a few weeks arguing with myself that’s for sure . But after the first ride I definitely know I made the right decision as ever thank you for watching and commenting most appreciated 🙏
There is something about the big parallel twin i love, it makes me not miss big hp. I've got the race inspired version but i was really torn between that and the Scrambler. Can't wait to see your pal on the Scrambler. I didn't know you worked in development, super cool!
Good for you 👍 I owed the tiger GT pro and same , amazing bike but it didn’t excite me and I stopped ridding it . I’m now looking for a winter bargain ,! I do like the triumph 1200 engines . Enjoy your stunning new bike 👍
Glad you stuck with triumph Lee or Lea 😆, I still love my 900 RP. however I was hoping to see another little Honda like a CRF300L, had mine over 2 months now & loving every moment of it. I'll be watching how you get on with the Scram, looks amazing. Congratulations and many happy miles buddy 👌👍
As ever thank you for watching and commenting, I’d definitely love a little crf in the garage not that there’s any room in my garage or bank account but never say never 😎🤘🏍️❤️
Thank you 🙏 and yes I’m absolutely loving every minute with her , no bike is perfect but she is definitely perfect for me , Thank you 🙏 for watching and commenting most appreciated 🙏
I was the same I had a Tiger 1200 XRt, it was a fantastic bike. I had been to France and Germany and never missed a beat. I was riding on the M6 with the heated grips and seat on and I just thought I'm on a Volvo. Does everything well but I needed to change. I had a GS before the Tiger, I think I've done the big adventure bike thing. So I am now the very proud owner of a Triumph T120 Black and I love it!!
I loved working on the T120 black I did a lot of two up miles with my son as pillion pre production the brown seat was so much more comfortable than the black seat but no one could work out why as they were the same apart from colour, I’m glad you found the bike that captured your heart ❤️, a big thank you for watching and commenting most appreciated 🙏
All I can say is what a great job you did, the engine is amazing and it's extremely comfortable with the brown seat lol, and it looks like a proper motorcycle. Your new Scrambler looks fantastic, safe riding.@@bikerbuddy3166
You definitely will not be disappointed that’s for sure 👌 wishing you many happy miles 😎🤘if I had any advice for a new rider or infact any rider do your advanced and think about a airvest product two of the best things I ever did 😎🤘
I hope so too he’s not been on yet still finishing his new buddy pod and waiting for tall screen , but then he’s not very well at the moment bless him 😞
A great choice buddy, more exciting and engaging than the Tiger. I was tempted myself when I saw one with a lime green union jack paint job but I ended up with a Triple Black Rocket 3 GT. Now that doesn't half put a smile on my face 😂 More recently I've added my old favourite T'bird 900 Sport to the stable, the last of the Hinckley built bikes, engineered to perfection and beyond. I'm surprised Triumph don't offer you bikes at a reduced price given all the development you helped them with.
Well that’s definitely a bike in my top five triumphs for sure 👌 I am officially the first man on the planet to get 3 points and a £60 on the rocket 3 that bike was so much fun in development 😎🤘
@@bikerbuddy3166 I totally understand how easy it would be to get 3 points and a fine on the Rocket, it's torque is just so dammed addictive 😯😂 I've also got a ZZR 1400 Performance Sport, it really starts pulling above the revs where the Rocket has peaked. It's fun but worrying to watch the Speedo needle sweep quicker than the rev counter. Such fun tends to be reserved for quiet roads with no snoopers 😂
Ye we had no traction control when I got caught so the rear was probably doing 80 mph , as for discounts when I was employed by triumph we got 25% off new bikes and 50% off parts and accessories I definitely miss the discounts but more so I definitely miss not being part of the triumph family ☝️
I also own a T'bird 900 Sport and although it's heavy for its capacity I'd never describe it as " a lump of a pig" 🤔 I owned one back when they first came out and always regret having to sell it. Even by today's standards it's a better built and handling bike, as well as having more poke than even some of it's new 1200 rivals. Oh and it sounds more like a roaring lion than a squeezing pig 😂
@@greywolf9292Well, the only ride I can compare it to are my CB900F-5 Hornets. The hornet is a nimble as, well, a Hornet, so well balanced. The T'Bird is a Legend engine and basically has twin front discs and the rear brake that is as useful as a screen door on a submarine. It's real comfortable on the motorway mind, but here Isle of Man where there are very few straight roads, it's still a "lump of a pig" compared to the Hornets. BTW, the 2004 T'Bird is in very, very good condition - purrs like a kitten, but it feels so, so heavy.
@@N269 I agree with you regarding the brakes, more grab them and hope than squeeze them and stop. I've never tried a Hornet but I've heard great things about them, the old ones at least, the new 1,000 is interesting but looks a bit uncomfortable. I traded a GSX600F (Now that was a Pig,) for my first TBS and found the Triumph rode like on rails in the twisties. I'm now a bit of a Pig myself and the extra top heaviness isn't helpful 😂
