Then all that remains is to "know" in order to "be" and "do". The principle of self-knowledge is clear: in order to know, it is necessary to discover how to know. On this path the seeker will not be completely alone. In difficult moments he will receive support and guidance, for all who follow this path are connected by an unbroken chain. The theory of esotericism is that humanity consists of a great outer circle, embracing all human beings, and a small circle of educated and understanding people in the center. E. J. GOLD
I think the correct way to say it is not delaying the enlightement which I suppose it's not possible, but returning after enlightenment again and again in this realm until all beings are liberated. A liberate being has more tools to liberate others and he/she can choose how and where reincarnate again. That's what I've been taught and makes sense to me, at least.
Had this intuition as a kid but was unfortunately raised Christian where thinking and other ideas or thoughts are not accepted but the lies of the pedo Catholic church are. We are all split soul from God head Brahma Krishna and Shiva. Brahma Generates the "reality" we perceive, Krishna is the supreme personality of God and Originator will reincarnate as Kalki to save a dying Earth, Shiva Destroys the universe with his cosmic tandav dance and will generate the next universe we will reside in after the kali yuga comes to an end Hamsa in Sanskrit means a understanding we are all divinely connected and one Aman = peace ✌️
"BECAUSE WE ALL SHARE THIS PLANET EARTH, WE HAVE TO LEARN TO LIVE IN HARMONY AND PEACE WITH EACH OTHER AND WITH NATURE. THIS IS NOT JUST A DREAM, BUT A NECESSITY." - Dalai Lama
This question often plagues me as to how can someone delay his own enlightenment and is it a possibility that all sentient beings can be liberated? The last part specially resonates with me a lot as to how to work for the welfare of other beings.
One way to understand this: what we refer to as 'enlightenment' is incomplete as long as there are suffering beings in the world, or in other words, it really isn't full enlightenment until the entire universe is saved. "Beings are numberless; I vow to save them all". From the Heart Sutra.
The Teachings say (to paraphrase), _"The Dharma is Non-dual, there is neither the observer nor the observed."_ Thus there is neither the rescuer nor the rescued, how should anyone pledge to cause to save anyone's else and all? 😊🙏🙇♂️🌷
There is the doctrine of the two truths: the absolute ultimate truth and the relative conventional truth we live in everyday as sentient beings on the path trying to make it in this world. In fact, only an enlightened being like a Buddha, who knows the absolute truth, can help people realize the truth themselves. The quote you provided is true in the absolute sense, but we must respect the conventional truth of karma and cause and effect as well. The absolute truth is taught in the second and third turnings of the wheel. Yes, experience is one holistic mandala, free from dualities of consciousness conscious of sensory phenomena. It is the 5 aggregates. That holistic mandala of experience is without Self Nature. There is no witnessing consciousness separate from what is witnessed. Phenomena reveal themselves vividly.... what we call consciousness is just the property of sensory phenomena, like how wetness is a property of water. But when you know this, and all of your tendencies to grasp at experience or identify with an aspect of it are exhausted, you are a liberated Buddha. The way to rescue others then is to show them that there is no self either in the five aggregates nor separate from them. (Because they can all be observed. If it can be observed, it is not the Self)....
I think this longing to liberate others is considered an attachment to be let go in Theravada, and due to this Theravada is considered somewhat selfish, by the Mahayana.
The Teachings say ( to paraphrase), _"Ignorance turns into illumination when Oneself realizes the very principle of Dharma Laksana."_ *Dharma Laksana* ie ( the dynamics of) Objects & Phenomena. 😊🙏🙇♂️🌷
Then what waits for me in the next life if I believe some people don't want to be saved? What about monks that aren't bhodisattvas? Are they too forever damned to the realm of samsara until they have saved every sentient being?
Can someone explain this to me: there is no I, no rescuer or person needed to be rescued. Therefore, how is the vow able to be made if there is no one to make it?
You wake up when you stop pretending you’re not god. In the meantime, you’re just playing the silly little game “Oh, I’m just poor little me!”. So here we are running around in a panic as if it were necessary to become something beyond ourselves. When you’re ready to wake up you will wake up.
I had some kind of knowledge transmission on shrooms, I saw Buddha, I experienced anatta and saw exactly that - that we are like leaves on a tree of life and the illusory separate „I” is assumed from the sensations but in actuality it does not exist
The true teachings of the Buddha: all the true books of the 5 Nikayas, thay teach the way to freedom from suffering for one self. In the Khuddaka Nikaya, only the first 6 books (Khuddakapatha, Dhammapada, Udana, Itivuttaka, Sutta Nipata, Vimanavatthu) are original to the Perfect Teachings of the Buddha. However, some "to smart " monks have added extra 12+ books and words of their own to the Dhammapada, saying that these are ''high teachings'' of Buddhas. In addition Mahayana are not giving the deserved respect to Sariputta, the Buddha's right-hand monk. The expert said he went to look for what Buddha hid in a cave at the bottom of the sea, a scripture with very high teachings for his own time = there was no writing at the time the Buddha lived. First someone liberates themselves and only then can they serve as a guide for liberation. A bodhisattva is only useful for the first part of the path, Sila. Samadhi until the fourth jhana is the second part. Pania is the tird. Level 3 of Samadhi( Upeka) +Pania will lead to understanding and finaly guiding to Liberation! Only in the state of SampaJhana (third Jhana, upeka ) can one separate the body and senses and logical reasoning apart from the observer. Forest monks have practical knowledge, acquired through experience, beyond words.Mahayana is more related to animism than to the true teachings of the Buddha
This is incorrect. The Bodhisattva does not delay enlightenment, he seeks to achieve it, and then remain in Samsara to help other living beings to reach it as well. Like a slave who frees himself, and uses that freedom to set his fellow slaves free

Saving people and animals of the earth from suffering
