Oh cool, you got the same one I did! So, for the yellow thing up top, you can rotate it: unscrew the muzzle and the barrel shroud, and you should be able to rotate it to a different position. I put mine at 45°. Also, I have it on good authority from a friend that it's based on a gun from the Gundam animes. Don't know much more than that myself.

I dont think I am gonna be able to change the position without scratching it somehow haha
