SUPERBOOTH 2024: Cosmotronic - Aphelion Distortion Module

At Superbooth 2024, Matthijs from Cosmotronic showcased the latest offerings from the company, including the new module called Aphelion*. *Matthijs described Aphelion as a stereo distortion and DJ-style filter with three different distortion options: overdrive, wave folder, and one inspired by the ProCo Rat pedal. The module also features a character knob for morphing between the circuits, as well as a combined low pass and high pass filter after the distortion. With additional features like a bypass switch and low-cut option, *Aphelion *promises a dirty yet versatile sound. Another highlight from Cosmotronic is an expander for the *Cosmix Pro*, offering a three-band EQ, additional aux bus, and gain control for the four mono channels.

Good stuff from Matthijs, I enjoy his modules and look forward to trying the new ones sometime. The pedal looks great too, all I wanted on the Messor module was the mix control so nice to see it on the pedal.

Expander looks cool but I was hoping for more tracks over eq of the existing. Still great for managing that mid/low playground.

route is 4 more tracks now with EQ into the mixer. So you can use it that way.

Love the sound of that distortion module, but I'm over eurorack, and have been for a few years now.
And, that compressor pedal..,
- looks like some kind of old Soviet tech, pulled from a tank or something,
- so if it sounds as good as it looks, I'm in.
