Great vid! Definitely excited to see how this list will grow and change over time. Here are my current suggestions: 1. Icons. Add Icons to champs specifying things like if they need awakening/sig, if they are rng etc. 2. Some champs I think are not that good defenders if you can play skillfully, ie Korg, Thing, Sauron. Maybe add these champs to their own rank or give them an icon. 3. Alot of mutant defenders need to be moved down simply because Nimrod exists. Besides those just some suggestions on champs moving up or down, Iceman needs to go up. Coldsnap immunity is rare, and its just guranteed damage. Apoc also has very annoying specials and is a tank move him up. Mephisto should go up, he is so rng with how he gains those auras. RNG defenders are insanely powerfull because even with the right counter they can mess you up, maybe mention them somehow. Oh and Kingpin needs to move way up. Such a beefy defender, can't get parried or debuffed, sp2 unstoppable is annoying.
Two additions that I might recommend for this list are Gorr and Spidey supreme. I think these are champs that fly under people's radar as defenders sometimes, but I've personally found Spidey to be a really slow fight without a human torch because of his phase, and Gorr's buffs, especially as a 7* can really get out of control on defense if you don't have a mystic with near-constant nullify on hand
Yup spidey supreme in BGs did some defensive work for me in the last meta
Human Torch is commonly banned so you may not get to use him all the time.
@@edisonlaw934 Surprisingly mine isn't. That's the reason I made the recommendation, despite my having a rank 3 Torch, my Rank 4s and 7* champs are normally the ones getting taken out

@@edisonlaw934 I know, I find it suprising too. Maybe it's different in the GC but in the victory track, he's almost always left on the playing field for me. I think it might be because he's unawakened and I have got a Spidey 2099 who's awakened and rank 4, as well as a couple other high sig R4s and a 7* Hulk. Presumably they look more threatening, hence why they're constantly banned. It surprises me too.
That's actually the reason I'm not taking him to rank 4 lmao. I'm scared that if I did he'd be targeted more often
I’ve been waiting for someone to do this! These types of tier list are just as important as any other tier list especially for battlegrounds, so thank you. I agree with your placement, the only two I thought should be higher was gorr and ABS. Especially gorr because if you don’t have a counter you can have a bad time, plus he is very tanky
Human Torch should be in the Situational Tier for Torch trap situations.
for Jessica Jones/anyone with a unstoppable buff, it has to be Silk whenever she applies slow during a heavy attack (combo to a heavy to a special)

Hi lag, i think that iceman is too much underrated and think he deserves to be in the hard counter required due to the cold snap debuff he places at the beginning of the game and which deal at least 30% of your health if you don't have a cold snap immune champion or a pg that purifies it.

i think because you can play around that but you cant play around shock without immunity

With Photon i use Mantis. She was design for counter her and it works. But yeah, if you know how to block the SP1 last hit and play very careful she's easy to beat.

You should make a list of best counters for each of these defenders ik there prolly already videos out on each individual one but it'd be nice to just have one video with all counters.
Shocker deserves a place in the list imo. Removing limber mastery, reducing stun duration, going unblockable when dashing at 50 charges, can autoblock specials..this dude can be annoying
It’s simple to fight around shockers abilities.
@@juanvaldez665 Champs like both Magnetos and Claire also made it on this list. Actually most champs on here have mechanics you can play around against, so Shocker should defo be in there.
Good list. this comment is my venting about Peni. I love Peni, first tech r4 6* and I woulda taken her to r5 but kabam rly made a ton of cosmics that just ruin her. still love using her on attack tho.
i don't know if many people know but long shot can malt the future ant-man you can use long-shot if you have get future ant-man as defender then you can use long shot
I would totally agree with this list.. photon and kindred definitely need a slight tune down.. but I do believe abs man had the 1st ever tune down

Decent starting list but there are a few changes I would make. I would move Nick Fury, Fantman, Peni, and Knull down a tier. Nick doesn't require a hard counter as all you have to do is manage his tactical charges and push him to sp2. With Fantman as long as you can intercept his threat level is dropped. Peni started as a monster defender but now her threat has dropped significantly as people have learned to keep her charges low by baiting heavies and pushing her to sp2 as outside of her autoblock her defense is below average. Knull also doesn't require a hard counter as pushing him to sp2 avoids the reverse controls and his unblockable/unstoppable buffs.
I would move scorpion, MODOK, Guardian, idoom, Warlock, super skrull, Dragonman, Wong up a tier. Scorpion's evade mechanic can easily turn a smooth clear into a BG loss. MODOK is squishy but his autoblock and random attribute boosts can turn a fight ugly. Guardian is a time stall if you don't have nullify or armor break available and you learn a hard lesson if you try to lower his ability accuracy with AA or a skill champion. idoom also is a time stall and his power lock and regen from his sig can make it even longer. If you don't have buffs or running mags then warlock will troll your health and power down throughout the fight. Skrull's miss mechanic and tankiness trip me up on occasion. Dragonman and Wong were absolutely annoying this past BG season with their power gain.
theres always a counter to a champ. using power control champs makes dragonman and wong easy, not to mention there specials are are easy to evade. kate counters scorpion easily. if you cant beat modok, you shouldnt play. most cosmics run through warlock , L2 is a joke and easy to evade. You cant argue certian champs then list others you have trouble with. You ujust need to get better.

To break down what I said earlier every champion I mentioned that I felt could be moved down can be taken with any champion in a neutral matchup barring the BG meta You mentioning counters for champions I felt could be moved up a tier only makes sense when you get your counter in the draft. You might not get Kate for Scorpion, you may have to work around MODOK's autoblock which wastes time. If you don't have a cosmic with buffs for warlock you can anticipate taking degen damage. You're rarely getting the perfect draft so you have to be prepared for less than ideal matchups because it happens to the best of us. So your inferring that I need to get better when you completely missed the point of my initial post is weird.
Maybe do similar for offence and dual threat champions
7* Mordo is nice. I didn’t know he got buffed. I thought it was weird when I used him for the first time on attack ever in the game in bgs. I didn’t know who to use on attack so I thought I lost. I used him agaisnt I think mantis and literally killed her pretty quick and I don’t even know how.

Iron Man after his buff is now THE Bishop and Sauron counter
Elsa with suicides on is my best defender. The Elsa Trap is real!
I always bring a mute againts him. U never know when this can happen.
Even better option is omega red. Becoz h cant counter it.
You probably might not see this, but Spot is an amazing defender. I feel like he deserves annoying/tanky or Hard Counter
I think that the most underrated on this list are:
1. Apoc (we all know why)
2. Spider-Ham (even when he can’t evade, his nonsense charges reduce until 55% damage and sp2 is unblockable if you are taunted (witch you pretty most are all the time))
3. Darkhawk (he is super mega ultra annoying at max sig, he def needs a direct counter because the autoblock and miss mechanic)
4. Spot (on D at high sig is just super time waste and even if he doesn’t hits you, the damage you have to take for punishing his sp 2 and the ruptures can be crazy)
Honorable mentions to re evaluate:
1. Electro
2. Nova (his power gain when dashing can get out of control but still can be countered)
3. ModoK (autoblock for days and if you do not have true sense or unblockable he can’t punsih you for attacking him even if you’re punishing a special)
4. Moleman (if you have counter is a breeze but if not, he will purified the parrys and gain more damage and you cant hit his block because of unstop (and the slow can get purified aswell)
Darkhawk is the only 5* in my BG deck and constantly giving a winning round. But I am only vibranium,but till now he is justifying the sig stones and gen ag I put into him years ago.
Will this tier list work for 5 star champs as well for those of us that don’t have any 7 star and not many 6 star champs yet?

I would say toad is very annoying, he needs a hard counter, his regen is very hard to control when he gets low health and his poisons are a minor problem along you getting stunned if he keeps throwing sp1 instead of sp2
Where would you guys put Onslaught? I haven't found a good counter for him yet in my roster.
I don’t find hulking that bad. The indestructible in vt is easy to just wait out especially if you international get him to indestructible before he throws his special. I just dex his special and once that’s over so is his indestructible so I just go back to hitting him.
12:10 from my personal experience , fant man is not the defender that requires a hard counter tbh , i was able to beat him using a decent pool of champs , i will replace him with either peni/mysterio . I have had decent sucess fighting against him , cgr and jugg is my favotite counters

for me mystic spidey has become a nighmare with all those promystic nodes and the almost undexable specials
Personally I think symbiote supreme could have a case to be on this list. His staggers and nullifies can really prolong the fights for ramp up champs and is just downright annoying
There needs to be a Most Hated defender list... also.. when you look back at some of the older champs.. and look at some of the newer champs.. it's like.. why haven't they attempted to atleast give them somthing to slide them into the new champs category of either dot, or buffs.. like the older champs besides maybe Juggs, Joe fixit, just aren't used anywhere near as much.. is their somthing in the works for older champs.. I k ow they did iron man. But iron man does t really make sense without some upgrades.. but cap marvel.. cap america..Noone ever uses them except for synergys if even.. it's Sad because they are some of the best in the books.

Great list lags. Only thing though is I don’t think Sauron is a great defender. He is annoying because of the unlovable but his specials are pretty easy to dex.

Out of some BG's i played majority of the time Weapon Flex would always shred the attackers

Solid list but kate bishop and tigra should probably be promoted 1-2 tiers
Nick is number one with his stall and sometimes the sp1 unblockable can catch you, but I've fought him so many times that I can take him with just about anyone and come out ok. It's just time, not actual difficulty that makes him a number one contender. Being a Kitty main makes all the top skill defenders absolute pushovers

Obviously node depending, but Warlock is, in most cases, amazing counter to Bishop.

I was telling the guy that designed Photon, I believe it’s DLL that she’s unbalanced as a defender, he disagrees and insist she’s okay. A couple of guys said the same thing but I guess his ego didn’t want him to see pass the champs flaws as a defender. It’s just so unreasonable how all her kit comes together defensively. You’re basically punished for almost everything you do already…normal things we ought to do in combat. Add a little, tad bit tricky nodes to the champ and it’s just outright stupidity and unreasonableness. Glad someone of prominence within the community sees this too.

I'm pretty sure you can Ronan any hulking in the game lol even if hes stun immune he has so many buffs your specials are gonna chunk him. But yea he really is a bastard otherwise

thanks for the list, but I do believe Sauron does not deserve to be there, his specials are hard to evade the first couple of times you fight him but you can soon learn to dex them pretty easily and consistantly, and his healings are not that potent, and his unblockable are very managable and predictable which can be played around fairly easily. He is a very good defender but he is not on the same level as someone like weapon X, Bishop or Korg imo.
My man took 23 hits to the face and barely lose his half health.

I have to say hulkling may not be the strongest but he's by light years the most annoying defender I've faced ever, he can be under 10% hit you a few times, either you die or he's upto 25-30% health. He's my number 1 ban by a mile every single time I see a rank 4+ hulkling cuz I haven't won a single match I lost in a hulkling on defense fight
U should use tigra and u can kill him in 30 secs. Or rintrah if u want to be safer

I think guardian is the only straight counter to domino, even tech champions still get hurt by domino 😂

I think wong should be moved up. I’m the first to hate on him after getting him as my first 7*. But I can also recognise the work he’s put in on defence for me in bg after I finally & reluctantly levelled him.
Imo Gorr should be higher, he's so annoying to fight without a nullifier. Regen goes insane.
Mangog need to be moved down. Hes kinda like omega sentinel where if you alter your combo slightly and don’t push to sp2 there easy to take down however he is still a challenge
