- We learned on Tuesday that Ugonna Onyenso committed to Kansas State. It sounded like the Tar Heels were already out on Ugo, but that move officially slammed the door shut. Recent intel suggests some odd landing spots for Coleman Hawkins - would he really win up at one of those places?
The North Carolina state legislature has a bill right now that would require the Tar Heels to play State in football, men’s basketball, and women’s basketball every year, as well as a cycle of playing ECU, App St, and Charlotte in those same sports.
The Diamond Heels had some help out beyond the RF fence on Monday night in the form of Colby Groce. He joins the show to tell us about the experience.

When UNC landed Lubin, and considering the talent we already had, my concerns went away. Lubin has a stronger inside game than Ingram ever had. Ingram had a better 3 pt game, but UNC is stocked with 3pt shooters now. We probably should be more concerned with a shortcoming of scoring from our 1 position than anything else.
My thoughts exactly! VAL was the one I wanted out of the 3 we were talking to. He had the most versatility, on both sides of the ball, than the other 2 have. Imo

Are y’all forgetting that these are freshmen? Jalen Washington is injury prone. We don’t know how Cade is going to perform against much stiffer competition. R.J has trouble scoring against bigger guards. Y’all are way too hype with all these flaws‼️ However I hope Hubert Davis can work something out 💯

It's not even close... Hawkins is a seasoned senior and J Wash needs to step up this year and prove himself. If we could land Hawkins we are covered at all positions in the rotation. IMO
@2003zq8 I get that, and you're right. But as far as what this team needs, I don't think Hawkins is the answer. No doubt we won't turn him down if he wants to come. But he is looking for the bag, and we're not going to overpay at that position/player.

First was athletic scheduling, now there's a rumor that a bill is going to be introduced in the NC legislature requiring UNC basketball to play zone defense 1 out of every 3 possessions. Politicians clearly know what's best. Next maybe they could pay some attention to education & healthcare.
Over the course of the year we will see Zayden High doing everything Onyenso can do but he is more skilled offensively

Still think we could have used this guy but it appears that his NIL ask was way in excess of his value. If you pay one guy way more than the market you can make about 5 others unhappy so glad we didn't pull the trigger. Washington will be the key, can he stay in the game for 25 to 30 minutes, not get in foul trouble and not be a defensive liability?

Coach Davis has promised to play a HBCU every year. The racist in the NC legislation doesn't like that idea. So they are fixing that

Kansas state would play Hawkins at the 4 and Achor Achor at the 3. It does make sense for him to go to Kansas state compared to the other schools listed. More talent and playing against better competition in the big 12. 🤷🏽♂️ like your content though!!
Not a bad bill Issac. Would bring a lot of money to the state. It's bigger than Football and Basketball. State school receives state funds.
Requesting UNC to play certain other teams is a government reach that should not happen. This would now hamper UNC by taking two of the eleven games. These games could/should be used to help build there resume in the BCS not make politicians happy.

Trouble putting all our eggs in Washington basket. He and High last year were very soft even timid. Short guards smallish team...we gonna get pounded on D boards I'm afraid. Washington foul injury prone...we very small very short otherwise. Waste of best 4 guards tandem UNC ever had. Can't rebound you can't run.
