The waltz that you will try to perfect your whole life... I've been playing it for roughly 20 years, still not satisfied ! Changing tempo all the time when I hear a good rendition like this one here... There is like 1000 way to play this waltz, try to raise the tempo and play without pedal "à la Cziffra", it changes everything. I have a feeling this one will still accompany me for the years to come !
Barnacle Boy yea I have seen this too. Often when playing his nocturnes it is encouraged in the writing. Whatever makes the music beautiful is what you do, and each person has their own idea.
There’s a rumor this piece was written as an unintentionally cold breakup letter to a girlfriend just before Chopin left Poland (that’s what it said in my piano book, anyway). I’ve only been playing it for 5 or 6 years, but I feel the same as you that it will hopefully accompany me for the rest of my time here. It’s such a joy to play and feel, to express whatever emotions bubble up
I can only admire, painfully the sound of such magnificent instrument. Living as a poor student, lacking the means to afford an instrument and lessons, i can only postpone my goal to learn, hopefully in few years i can experience the joy of music once again. Until then i shall watch your sublime playing and gain temporary satisfaction, wonderful performances indeed.
go to Craigs List, you can find a free piano there usually. I just did it for someone, used the company van to move it, console, needed a double tuning,....good beginner piano:)
romantic waltzes (such as this) are not for dancing to lol. One could hardly keep in time with the changing tempo of the piece - a tempo which continually varies with the emotions of the performer (with rubatos accelerandos etc) and arbitrarily so
@@ripxxx6924 I was just about to comment that omg. I absolutely love certain chopin pieces but there isn't a single beethoven piece I wouldn't listen to ♥
I always imagine this waltz is about two lovers doing one last waltz together before having to separate. Its so beautiful and sad, it makes me wanna cry.
It may be viewed by many as one of Chopin's easier pieces but to get it sounding as wonderful as you have demands years of hard graft along with a profound sense and understanding of music. I don't think there are many out there who can make this piece sound as beautiful as you. It is a pure pleasure to listen to you.
It's considered his easiest waltz for Technicality. Musicality its insanely difficult. For me I have a more hard time playing this Waltz than Chopins almost Etude style: Waltz in E minor.
This piece always played in the background of my violin lessons. A young prodigy taking her lessons in the room beside us. Lessons there were costly though, and weren't effective to most young children.

This cover is beyond incredible- the tempo, the rhythms, and the dynamic, especially the dynamics- the way this was played built an emotional connection to the audience, leaving every one of them swooning in awe. This piece was an introduction to Chopin for me, other more advanced students played it at the first recitals I remember being part of. I always liked this piece since about 7 or 8 years old. My favourite Chopin piece now is Etude 25.12. Aka "Ocean" And Mr. Barton does a great job on that as well as a wonderful tutorial.
^^ I found this piece without the help of Piano Tiles 2, despite being a big fan of the game. I'd remembered the tune, taken the melody, and asked my piano teacher what the name of the piece was.
