Love the way the coins are the same price regardless of how many you buy, they are always 10.41p... so for my family of 5 it is £41.64 just for a single ride on the coaster, insane prices!
I swear I paid £9 to ride Olympia Looping at Winter Wonderland a couple of years ago, so this small coaster for just over £8 seems plain wrong. Especially if you're a family with a few kids in this current climate, no way that you'd take them to this place over a whole day out like Drayton Manor where you can get dated tickets for under £30. Or a Merlin park with a buy-one-get-one-free. I can't imagine it getting popular until they fix the pricing - but hopefully they can make the adjustment because I totally agree that we need indoor spaces like this!
Nobody's going to spend an entire day in there. It's aimed at tourists with children. Let them enter for free to get the kids excited, then fleece the parents who don't want crying kids for the rest of the afternoon. And if that fails they can always dismantle the energy-consumptive and labour intensive rides and just replace them with more arcade games. Granted, they made a bit of an effort on the theming, but I think it's just not a very nice way of treating your customers.
£8 for one coaster is ridiculous, in January this year there was an indoor funfair in the convention centre in liverpool and it was £10 for 3 hours and when I went it wasn't that busy they had about 15 different rides and attractions and you could go on them as many times as you wanted during the 3 hours you got
I agree we definitely need new indoor parks, I really think somewhere near the Trafford Centre would be ideal as you have the shopping mall with Namco arcade, the 2 merlin attractions, cinema, ski centre ect. When you think that within an hour drive you have a few million population. Plus there is quite a bit of land in that part of Manchester, also right next to the motorway and metrolink tram.
I have a feeling the pricing is set to be confusing for a reason, as you're more likely to spend more if you can't easily track what you have left/spent so far. £8.33 for each rider on the rollercoaster is pretty shocking.
Amazing video as usual , keep up the fantastic content ,thanks for the amazing tour , your videos and positive vibes always make my day , thanks very much !!
Looks beautifully done! Real nice to have something like this indoors in the UK. Shame it doesn't look as if it could expand though as would be nice to get a few 'adult' attractions in.
They have appeared to change the pricing since opening day Shawn. When we went yesterday, the "ERS" coaster was 64 game coins, the major flats were 48 coins, the smaller flats were 32, and the games were either 16 or 32 game coins. Still very pricey unfortunately!🙁
I would'nt describe this as a theme park, more like a very large arcade, a very nice and modern acrade, but an arcade all the same, and while I accept this is in London, the prices are still shocking. I hope it proves to be a sucsess, but I'm not so sure it will be.
That's exactly what I thought, and compared to the arcades in my home town of Southend, it doesn't look that great. Sure it's new and clean and has nice lighting, but the rollercoaster is rather tame, and there aren't that many machines. Nice to see some pinball tables though; something that's sadly absent from the arcades in Southend now.
This looks like a lovely glossy park. The prices are eye watering though. Nearly £10 for a kids coaster? That's crazy. Charging for toilet use is most definitely cheeky.
Its just a pity that its only really for kids under 10 and not adults. This would be really cool if it was ten times the size and the roller coaster was like the MetroCentre one. You can hardly even call that thing a roller coaster
This is not a theme park. This is an arcade. The rides were average, the drop ride was worse than at any local children's attraction I have ever seen, and the prices are absolutely shocking. I am astonished at your positive review. You spent 35 pounds on a no thrills coaster, a 2m "drop ride" and a circular motion flat ride I can only compare to the thrills of being pushed on a chair with wheels. You could go to a real park for that. Imagine going to this shameful place with 2 kids and leaving a hundred quid on that nonsense.
29:54 That is awful, patrons are forced to use their game card to use the restroom. That is worse than pay toilets and even pay toilets are becoming more scare. Back in the United States, we have similar arcade family entertainment game chains such as Dave's and Buster's and Main Event, and they don't charge game points to use the restroom. Loved the roller coaster. Wish more of these family entertainment centers had rides.
It would basically cost £32 for our family to go round on that coaster once, completely unrealistic for families who we obviously assume it’s intended for 😂 madness
Thanks for the quick vlog, was looking forward to seeing what it was like, sadly though, with that system and those prices I think they are going to struggle. I would love to see London Trocadero reborn, I visited frequently as a child/teen, in its heyday it felt like a magical place to me, Pepsi Max Drop was my first drop tower and I remember clearly that it was terrifying, we loved it....great memories 😊
@@ghuk1 no I actually don't strangely. I only remember Pepsi Max down there and vaguely recall a Trocodero tube station that never was in service in the basement...unless I dreamt that bit? 😆 what was it? Like a laser challenge type thing?
If I remember right !? Trafford centre in Manchester has a good arcade centre, 10 pin bowling, Dodgems and a mini golf course plus a fantastic food court.
This kind of indoor entertainment center is very popular here in America. There's a few big ones near me that focus on indoor Go karting but also escape rooms, food, arcades and some small indoor flat rides. This kind of concept is great.
I know you want more indoor parks in UK hence why you're positive about this however just thought it was very expensive and more like an arcade than a park. Let's hope an indoor attraction with same size as Vegas opens in UK soon
The coin system being complicated is on purpose. It's the same system mobile games use to trick people into spending more. It being purposefully complex and confusing, paired with the separation of real money (you have to buy "game coins" or "gems" instead of just using real money) make people spend more.
I can't see this "park" lasting at all unfortunately. It's too much of an arcade vibe and far too expensive. Great coverage though Shawn! Always worthwhile checking it out :)
Well said with reagrd to the UK needing more places like this with the weather we have here. I hope we see something like this on a bigger scale. Maybe a few more intense experiences and a bit cheaper and it'd be perfect. Maybe they could do say £20 and you can ride and play as much as you like for the day. They'll make money on food and drink by having people stay in there longer rather than just making everything expensive.
Always good to see a new venture opening up in the UK BUT the only way this is going to survive long with those sort of prices is the tourist trade and that's why its been opened in this area. Most locals are NOT going to visit this more than once or twice. I understand that they have already had to reduce prices as its been virtually deserted in the first couple of weeks, so MAYBE there is hope if they drop them further still.
As for Birmingham. You have Star City. Which has arcade centre, Dodgems, mini golf, climbing wall, casino, cinema....plus lots of eateries. P.s. might have 10 pin bowling but I can't remember.

Looks like they've finally sorted out some of their prices, £10 pack now gets you more coins and the coaster is relatively cheap too. £10 for a coaster ride and some arcade games is pretty decent these days so glad they've finally sorted that out lol
Its not that bad yeah rain can be annoying but we can tolerate it and I always think us Brits are wimps when it comes to weather when you look at places like Mexico, Florida when they deal with hurricanes and extreme heat, and Norway, Finland and even Sweden deal with extreme cold

We went there yesterday as we were staying in London and wanted somewhere to go in the evening. It is very well themed and clean with a good variety of rides and games. It is very expensive though. A security guard at the door told us the cheapest package £15 would be OK for 2 adults but we got two. We both had a ride on the roller coaster and one arcade game on one and then all the coins were gone. I told him that there needed to be clearer information on price of rides and explaining the token and coins. He allowed us to have a couple of free rides as we had had a bad first experience. I also got grabbed and pushed by and child so told the parent about it and was called ****** mad. If it weren't for the abhorrent prices and deceptive coin system this would be a great attraction. Aesthetically it looks fantastic.
