I was impressed by how quickly you got the flint to work with the cloth, nicely done. Thought the video may have cut off then come back a bit later! It’s never easy

I wish I had known about these videos when they were first being released. Because they are well shot, well presented and really interesting.

Imagine how many things need fixing on any given day: clothes, houses, furniture, tools, animals, etc. Much of the day must have been dedicated to just maintaining things

Wow, I can’t believe how much I bloody enjoyed this! Really informative. This is the stuff that we hardly ever see. Wish there was more of this stuff on you tube. Thank you so much for this! I’ll watch the others now. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺

I wish I could see the hole in the ceiling where the smoke escapes.

there wasn't, it filtered out through the thatch

As mentioned there wasn't. The hole caused too much of an up draught allowing sparks into the very dry thatch with obvious results.

The split Hazel running across the thatch is a ledger and the twisted peg is the spar .

The sharp points or the spar should be tilted toward the roof so rain won’t follow them under the thatch, he’s got them tilted so the rain will run right into it unfortunately.

I wonder whether they discovered that, have goose, will step in poo, but hey, that yarrow really helped my foot! Next time I get stung I’ll just try the yarrow!
