Pro tip: you can use the removable clipper spark thingy and shrink wrapp it to the side of the shell, you also dont have to do the bottom screw thingy for refilling and youst leave it original, for the wick chimney anything hollow whit a thread will work as long as you can attach one/two nuts [one if its a screw of sorts] and for the cower anything that can thread on and doesnt have a hole on the end will work

I think I would use a bronze or brass tube instead for my lighter if I make one

Brilliant looking lighter, I love it, thank-you for showing us, but I can't quite work out how you screwed in the fuel filler screw? Did you just tap a nut into it? Thank-you
Cheers. The wick is inside a Shrader valve - the same that’s in a true tube. All I did to hold this in place in the top of the shotgun shell is to add a couple nuts, one on the top and one on the bottom. You can then use the cap from the valve as a cover for the wick. Hope this is what you mean. If not, check out the link to my instructables page which will take you through the build.
I believe he used a threaded rivet in the bottom of the lighter, or something similar.

BRILLIANT!! How did you make the striker tube???? Ive been wanting to do something like this, I have a key chain pill holder that is waiting to transform… I just need some tips On how to make the flint and roller striker tube!!! Learned a few things. 8:50 is removing Nickle coating?
Actually you are adding a copper coating.

How did you stick the bottom on there and make it stay did you glue it all I saw you do was stick it on it won't just stay on there lighter fluid will leak out of it out of the bottom you had to glued it what did you use
If you heat up the bottom section with a small blow torch it will melt the plastic inside the shell. You can then push the nut sert inside whist the plastic is soft and it will make a seal around the nut sert when it drys and sets hard.
Did the lighter fluid melt the plastic on the shell at all? Like gas in a tupperwear.
nope - no issues at all with the lighter fluid.
Couldn’t you just braze the shader to the shell casing?

i would have used a full brass shell. but i love this idea and i might have to make one myself. ( with the brass ofcourse )

The rope is called sash rope and is 100% cotton. You can get it from hardware stores or eBay

Grab the almost clear one to reveal fluid level there guy. Bye the way love your work. Also try a lantern igniter so fingers are nowhere near the fire 🔥. The seal needs to be on both sides of shell butt. You know inside before washer and outside before washer. As squash seal like ice chest drain hole 🕳.
don't think it'll work very well using the clear shotgun shell. You have to jam cotton inside of the shell so won't know if it is full or not. Plus I have done an updated version of this build where I add some copper tube inside the shell and have better seals inside. See below:

@@lonesoulsurfer That's of course a pretty good assessment.
But you don't necessarily have to fill the intier shell with cotton or wading. You could simply put it in the top and the fluid can reach it as it moves around in the pocket. And of course the wick is also a form of conviance to the fire.

If you mean the sparkwheel fire lighter, then just type into eBay 'sparkwheel fire lighter' and it will pop up
I can’t get the striker to solder to the shotshell bottom!
The only reason that this might happen is you are not getting the shell hot enough. You need to heat both the sparkwheel and the shell with a small blow torch. Also, don't forget to add flux to both

И корпус сделал из двух латунных гильз 12 -го калибра. Получилось.👍

определенно рекомендую более толстый фитиль. Просто убедитесь, что у вас не слишком сильно торчит верх, иначе пламя будет слишком высоким.

С латунной гильзы,думаю,по надёжной будет,смущает это пластиковое соединение,так то,класс получилось, и бензин надолго сохраняется в баллончике,когда все герметично,нет испарения топлива,как в ZIPPO зажигалке которой хватает на пару дне заправки.
На самом деле я сделал обновленную версию этого, которую вы можете найти по ссылке ниже. Я использовал медную трубку внутри корпуса, что значительно улучшает зажигалку.
