Gracefully Force Consensus is an hour long split tape between PMM and Tuff Sherm. Two halves of the same whole or two independent artists? Or perhaps one works while the other sleeps?
On this cassette the artists trade tracks instead of the usual side each, PMM's track titles appear to be lifted from a book on becoming a star while Tuff Sherm's titles are all named after existing albums. Just how much is in the Tuff Sherm vault?
This tape is staggering in it's breadth of sound, mood and approach: moments sound like disco 45's having been given a sandpaper rubdown, other drumless works provide instant enlightenment. Tuff Sherm produces some of his most raw and rugged material so far taking the futuristic primitive approach to new levels of intensity by setting up huge mechanical automatons, lubricated with rain and sweat, that follow their own relentless path until a rainbow appears in the room. PMM resides in the chasm between music and non-music: gnarled tone poetry, metallic clangs and overblown keys.
