So wild, I work at Drexel atm and that school plays them constantly and have a bit of a rivalry since Philly is about an hour from Delaware's campus. Increible to see any team from the CAA go against these larger programs.

Very true. There is no reason the Hens (or the Dragons) could not become lacrosse powers if their ADs would make it a priority. Both schools are right in the sweet spot of the HS recruiting territory. Hens have a little more history behind them. as they used to schedule many of the big boys back in the day like Hopkins and UNC (lost most of the games. but at least they stepped up into the arena). In recent years the Hens non conference schedule has been weaker and weaker. Maybe DeLuca can change this now that they saw some success this year, and he has Ivy connections. Both schools seriously need to schedule more of the big regional teams to fill out the non conference schedule, and maybe the occasional ACC or Ivy club if possible. I have always been puzzled why the Hens never went that route in recent years- they have such a geographical advantage and really good facilities- if they put their efforts and more money toward lacrosse.

Selection method for this tournament was a hot mess. There were teams in the first round who didn't deserve to be there and teams missing who definitely did. Not saying this game was an example, but we definitely have a few teams who shouldn't be in the dance.

Wtf were those 2 long poles doing on that last goal to win It. Wasn’t even a hard pick at all. One UD middie was walking across the field, one defender acts like they’re switching and the other stays on the same guy from 10 ft away just staring at him while the other middie walks into a wide open 12 yard shot. A breakdown in communication that bad on such a simple action is hard to fathom at a D1 level, let alone on a stage like this. Yikes.

This argument is just stupid, like Chris Hogan played lacrosse and then won a superbowl, Jim Brown played lacrosse at SU all while being a pioneer in football, and the pervious winner of the "best player in college lacrosse" is signed on a pro football team right now, soo who failed exactly?

I'm trying to like lax- I really am- but it's pretty much the most uninteresting sport ever. No differences in offensive strategy. Every team does the same exact shit. The defensive strategy seems to be just let whatever happen and hope they miss. I mean, my guy was able to just CHILL in the corner behind the net for almost an entire minute without being challenged before getting off the winning shot. It's like watching a series of hockey power plays for an entire game. The middle of the field is completely irrelevant. Nothing happens in transition, like, ever. Every team appears to be a team full of clones and there aren't any good teams outside the mid-atlantic US. It feels like a computer simulation. Hell, that might be more interesting.
Also, a 60 second shot clock??? That's somehow supposed to push the pace of play? That's a joke.

There is no difference between a basketball player dribbling out the last 20 seconds of game to take the game winning shot, then the player in corner trying to ensure the get the last shot, and the strategies look the same to blind men, just like all football strategies look the same to blind men, and both Notre Dame and Ohio State have been in a championship game in the past decade. If you are trying to become a fan then you would know transition is the name of the game but just like when the playoffs come in basketball it is harder to get clean transition opportunities because the other team doesn't make mistake, and if you watched the Maryland vs Virginia game you'd see the 10+ goals Maryland scored in transition. So in summation I think you should try to educate yourself about the topic you are discussing otherwise you make an ass of yourself

I've watched lax for 50 years, learn more each year, a fascinating game. Lax may be confusing when you first watch it, but I offensive strategy, defenses, middle of field play vary from school to school and game to game. No reason to torture yourself if you don't like it, perhaps try to watch once or twice with someone who knows the game well and can interpret the action on the field. First NCAA title game I watched was 1974, Hopkins beat Maryland (at Rutgers Stadium) 16-9. Best regards.
