I PREFER DITCH WITCH OVER VERMEER. I HAVE OVER 15 YEARS EXPERIENCE ON MINI COMPACT LOADERS . I HAVE ABOUT 6THOUSAND HOURS ON MY DITCH WITCH SK 755 TURBO AND IT STILL WORKS EACH AND EVERY DAY . I TEST DROVE A LOT OF VERMEERS AND THEY JUST SEEM TO BE BUILT CHEAPER AND NOT MADE TO LAST AS LONG

Roger that was true several years ago but I've owned DW 1050 and 2 Vermeer CTX. They are an all around better and stronger machine and have equal build quality. I was timid at first but the first time that I was really able to run one and check it out I was very impressed.

They look very big from behind I wonder if they will lack weight in the front when you are digging with the bucket??

Thanks for watching and commenting. I've got 4 different types and sized buckets for the Vermeer. 36" grapple bucket, 48" low profile with tooth bar, 48"high capacity and a 54" high capacity bucket with a reversible flat blade on it. In my opinion the 54" smooth bucket is the heaviest one and seems to do the best for shaving off the topsoil. I regret buying the 48" low profile bucket due to the low volume it can carry. The one thing I have noticed on back dragging very dry clumping soil is needing a partially Full bucket of dirt for it's weight in back dragging.

Great demo! I’ve also been wondering if one of these could handle a 330 IBC tote of firewood. Would be interesting to know if a Kabota SCL1000 could do it too…

Hello Martin, the Kabota scl 1000 was another machine I was considering 🤔 At the time they were unavailable. I believe it will lift an IBC tote but not at full height for stacking.

In this weight class the Vermeer is the better choice over the Ditch Witch for at least 2 reasons, it has no DPF and the throttle is a simple toggle switch. Ditch Witch does have a nice track tensioning system but is overcomplicated with the computer auto-throttle and aftertreatment.

The SK1550 doesn't useDPF and the new ones have the toggle throttle or auto throttle it's your choice what to use

Stinky Teal, I had to watch my video again. Your absolutely right 👍 I'm still a bit rusty making videos. This was my second one and I'm shooting from a cell camera. Definitely not the best quality. But thanks for pointing that out.

Hello Dan, if your local to the Annapolis Junction Maryland, Hunter Allen of Vermeer can help you with the price on a Vermeer CTX-160 mini skid. His number is
      410-829-6056
As to the question about that OSMA Ssk-90 it's not made by Vermeer company. It's made over seas. And the person That made that video has some contact information after the video. I believe I seen the price on the mulcher to be around $15,000. + Freight

Hey Dan, I can only give you a ball park on the price of a Vermeer CTX-160 which can very a great bit due to the area your shopping from. I purchased mine from a road salesman Hunter Allen from Annapolis junction Maryland which is a Dealership I've never step foot in. He's always meet up with me. I will give him much credit. He did everything he could of convincing me to buy a Vermeer over a Ditch witch and definitely went out of his way to do so. I would definitely refer someone to him that's interested in a Vermeer machine. Due to the rising cost of steel in this corona-virus pandemic we're going through. I estimate the wait time will be longer and the price will be higher than I paid. A ball park on a Vermeer CTX 160 will run you $46 to 56k depending on accessories, options and warranty coverages in which your Salesmen can discuss with you. If I were you🤔 do a price comparison with Ditch witches sk1550 which is comparable in lifting capacity to the Vermeer CTX 160. And even demo each unit if possible to make your best decision.
